I still have pain in my right kidney that I usually have with chronic UTI. I am taking Cipro now for E. facelis but infection will not go away. the symptoms disappeared but since my testicles still hurt I went to a urologist and gave me levofloxacin 500mgs. once a day for 2wks. I felt better alright but after i drank alcohol again i felt a pain in my lower back and some itching in my penis and a clear watery discharge although minimal. Levofloxacin is not the preferred drug for NGU-either a single 1.0 gram dose of azithromycin or doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for 7 days are recommended therapy for NGU. Levofloxacin will probably work however and is a good drug for prostatitis.

A urologist who conducted two rounds of blood and urine test- no infection. A week after doxy dosage I took a std test for gonorrhoea chlamydia and ureaplasma. All negative. I was worried about herpes all along and Borge the urologist and venrealogist said unlikely.
Say even if I had a UTI (which you have already pointed out that my risk is practically zero), I took levofloxacin for 4 days (out of 7days), will it still be able to infect my wife?

As Chlamydia is a STD, it requires treatment of both partners for effective eradication of infection. Abstinence from sexual intercourse is advised during the course of treatment, but condoms should be used if the infected individuals intend to have sexual intercourse.

My problems started with a UTI following unprotected oral sex (receiving, I'm male), bacteria confirmed in the urine by a simple stick test. Antibiotics (nitrofurantoin) failed to resolve the problem, then white blood cells detected in urine by the stick test, so different antibiotics (amoxicillin) prescribed, again without effect. I went and saw a different doctor who from the symptoms (no exam)thought it may be epidymitis and prescribed levofloxacin along with another urine sample. I have been on the levofloxacin for 5 days now and the testicle ache has gone and come back, along with the irritation under the head. Still no discharge excepting during one bowel movement.
I now understand that levofloxacin can cure E. I thought it had to cure C or G, which would in turn cure my E. But it seems, though I'd like someone to confirm it if you have any knowledge, that levofloxacin directly cures E.

Epididymitis was cured by levofloxacin in 2 days but why and what caused my E in the first place?
Theory:
Maybe my scrotum skin was weak during sex and it got infected during the sex process, but not by any STD.

I been on two types of antibiotics for 6 days now for my UTI. At 1st I was on Sulfameth/ Trimethoprim for 5 days and now I'm on Levoflaxacin. I been having headaces ever since I started them. I also been having this pain on my left side of my head. Can this be a side effect? I never get headaches. I'm very worried. I'll call dr tmrw.

I tested negative for urine routine and culture twice now. I am on third type of antibiotic Levofloxacin. Doctors say I have UTI.This is my second course of antibiotics in one month but sympyoms are recurring in last one month. I read that HSV can cause UTI. I haven't got any relief with antibiotics. My Igg for hsv 1 was positive 3.15 and hsv 2 after one month of exposure was negative. Should I do another test this week that's at 7th week.
Today results were out and and it was found that I had PROTEUS MIRABILIS in urine. My doctor said it is sexually transmitted and he told to take Levofloxacin 500 mg daily for 7 days.

i used two condoms and very properly but i washed my genitals with soap after 10 minutes after sex. Did i get this infection due to vaginal fluid that would have remained on my public area, which could have come in contact with tip of my penis??
