Feburary 16th I woke up with a extremely painful earache and lost my ability to hear in my left ear. I went to a walk in clinic the following day for the Doctor to briefly look into my ear and said it was "buldging" she sent me home with Doxycycline and OTC Allegra and told me to come back in 3 days if there was no improvement.
I was on ear drops & amoxicillin for 20 days a month ago for a double ear infection. It's fine. My OB was the one who prescibed them.
it important to keep up with the drops and get rid of the yeast, try massaging the outside of the ear after you put the drops in....the ear is feeling wet and irritated thats why he is shaking his head. the hematoma may not improve until after you are done the course of ear drops, than I hope it will slowly go down.:(

Hi, I went to the doctors with tinnitus. She told me it was due to ear wax and would need syringing. So I've started ear drops (earex brand) in preparation. However these seem to have left the ear with a permanently blocked/head in a bucket feeling. Is this normal? Will it be fixed once syringed?
I went to the doctors for an ear infection, he prescribed drops. After about 12 days he said the infection was dead and I could stop using the drops. Few days later ear hurt again and after checkup doctor told me to start the drops again. About a week later he told me he was sure it was gone this time and I can stop the drops again.
My ear is itchy, irritated and ringing slightly. This happened to me a few months ago and I used ear drops bought at the pharmacy. Three days later, it only moved the wax to completely block my ear (and hearing) so I went to see a doctor who syringed it out. I experienced vertigo that night so I'm hoping for another solution for this.

Still blocked and in incredible pain onto ear antibiotics drops w/steroroids. These were just sitting in my ear. I went to an ENT he removed pus said I had a horrible infection did not know how I was up and about. He put me on a different antibiotic/steriod concetrate drops. 4 days later I could not hear at all. I went in and he drained more pus, cultured my ear, said that I had a fungus infection. He injected a lotimin cream in my ear. Now I really cannot hear and I am still miserable.
I don't know of anything like that. For me the pain is really clearly originating in and around the cartilage of the outer ear, so even though the pain radiates deeper once it gets going, I can't imagine any kind of antibiotic or ear drops would help with mine. It sounds like we share some symptoms but not all, and I'm not sure if we have the same cause or not. What a bummer that you are getting the pain during the day too!
I have been having ears problems such as stuffy ears and sounds for about the last week. Last night I tried some ear drops to remove ear wax in my left ear. I put the ear drops in and I felt the liquid run down my throat and I could smell the drops on their way down my throat. I know that this is not normal. Why would this happen? Thank you.
So I bought some ear drops, Cerumol, to try to remove the ear wax. I put in the drops this morning for the first time, laid down with the ear up for an hour (as instrcuted by the box), and nothing has come out yet. If anything, the ear is now more blocked than before I put the drops in. I know the box says to do this 2-3 days, but I am only concerned because the ear is more blocked than before I put the drops in. Has this happened to anyone before and/or can you offer some insight?
