the symptoms disappeared but since my testicles still hurt I went to a urologist and gave me levofloxacin 500mgs. once a day for 2wks. I felt better alright but after i drank alcohol again i felt a pain in my lower back and some itching in my penis and a clear watery discharge although minimal. When I went back to my urologist, he said that im already cured and that he also said that maybe im just worrying too much.
I and my husband received IV continous infusion Clindamycin treatment times 7 days and the followup testing showed we were both positive with clamydia. I still have pain in my right kidney that I usually have with chronic UTI. I am taking Cipro now for E. facelis but infection will not go away. It is too the point I don't want to have intercourse with my husband. Also did two months of oral macrobid and clarithomycin both I and my husband. Don't know what to do please advise.
I started 100 mg doxycycline (big mistake) without taking any test. I then visited my go who put me on one week 250 my levofloxacin and pyridium. The pain did not go away. I visited. A urologist who conducted two rounds of blood and urine test- no infection. A week after doxy dosage I took a std test for gonorrhoea chlamydia and ureaplasma. All negative. I was worried about herpes all along and Borge the urologist and venrealogist said unlikely.
He said there is a chance for me to acquire chlamydia, gu, other ngu and herpes. He gave me some antibiotics (Levofloxacin 250mg x 2 for 7 days) to take care of any potential UTI and told me to monitor my penis in the coming time (didn't say for how long) for any herpes symptoms.
I was kind of relieved after seeing your posts here. But since I have been told I am at risk it will be nice to get a second opinion from an expert.

I tested negative for urine routine and culture twice now. I am on third type of antibiotic Levofloxacin. Doctors say I have UTI.This is my second course of antibiotics in one month but sympyoms are recurring in last one month. I read that HSV can cause UTI. I haven't got any relief with antibiotics. My Igg for hsv 1 was positive 3.15 and hsv 2 after one month of exposure was negative. Should I do another test this week that's at 7th week.
m sitting down, and usually if I get up and walk around I feel better. I went to the doctor about a week ago and had some blood work done. All of the results for STDs, and a UTI came back negative. I'm currently taking Cipro but it doesn't seem to help. My physician said that it might be "nospecific urethritis" and would prescribe Doxycycline. From what I have read about post void drip, there doesn't seem to be any resolution. Has anybody had success with this problem?
After 2 weeks I noticed pain in left testicle, diagnosed as epididymitis, antibiotics (Levofloxacin) prescribed and had an immediate effect in reducing pain, but 2 months later the problems have not resolved completely.
I still have an increased urge/frequency to urinate (every 3-4 hours), occasional tingling/burning in urethra and a dull pain in the left testicle which can vary from irritating to barely noticeable. I'm able to sleep through the night without getting up to urinate.
I’m really worried I tried ejaculating after my first set of naproxin and levofloxacin and I got a clear semen no white at all. It freaked me out so I tried it again at the after noon that day I got a white semen but watery it still freaked me out so that night I tried it again n it looks like a normal semen. One week later I was tested for uti and kidney/bladder infection. This test was also negative. My symptoms are mild and have included irritation in my urithra and occasional instances of having to pee in the middle of the night. I was prescribed an antibiotic levofloxacin and have finished the course about three days ago. These symptoms still persist. Is this just paranoia or is it possible that I have received a false negative? What could be the clause of this?
2) Hard lump in the left testicle from 4 days ago until about today. (I went to the doctor and started levofloxacin, 100mg x3 a day for over 7 days. I live in Japan, so yes, this dosage is 100% correct. I read somewhere that people thought this dosage is not possible). Headaces with antibiotics?
I been on two types of antibiotics for 6 days now for my UTI. At 1st I was on Sulfameth/ Trimethoprim for 5 days and now I'm on Levoflaxacin. I been having headaces ever since I started them. I also been having this pain on my left side of my head. Can this be a side effect? I never get headaches. I'm very worried. I'll call dr tmrw.
Have a bad sinusitis and when I saw the doctor I did'nt think of pregnancy. In the past couple of days,I realised that my breasts are extremely tender and not getting better. Usually goes away days before starting my period and not as severe. Started having the lower abdominal pain today. And am almost 7 days late with my period. I do relised that it is still early,am just really worried.
I had really bad urinary pain and they said I do not have bacteria in my urine (which is prob masked) and asked about STDs. I have a yeast infection from the antibiotics and am taking antifungal meds now and feel a little better. My question is if my ex did have something (which i'm still certain he didn't) would all of those antibiotics have killed whatever was in my body?
Started off as a UTI. Dysuria, urgency, frequency, suprapubic pain. Urine showed only trace pus cells and RBC. Nitrite and culture negative.
It resolved with antibiotics. But after 4 days, my vulva and urethra started burning. I have been on ceftriaxone, doxycycline, metronidazole, levofloxacin. But vulval burning during urination and urgency are persistent since 3 months.
Ultrasound, cystoscopy, colposcopy, swabs, bloods, urine are all normal. But symptoms are persistent.
Today results were out and and it was found that I had PROTEUS MIRABILIS in urine. My doctor said it is sexually transmitted and he told to take Levofloxacin 500 mg daily for 7 days.

i used two condoms and very properly but i washed my genitals with soap after 10 minutes after sex. Did i get this infection due to vaginal fluid that would have remained on my public area, which could have come in contact with tip of my penis??
My doctor originally thought it was a UTI and gave me some antibiotics for that. I took them and started to feel slightly better, but the he called me a few days later and said my STD test came back positive for Chlamydia. He prescribed me (4) 250mg Azithromycin. I took those, and my symptoms started to clear. A few days went by and I felt fine. Then I started to get sharp pains in my left testicle.
Related to doctors I went to a walk in clinic at 3 week mark(neg results). Seen my family doctor and got tested for UTI, trichmonisisas, HIV(all neg). Saw Urologist got a pres. of levofloxacin which didn't do anything for the burning. Currently on doxycycline for 1 week. During last 4 months had one week of relief. Last visit to urologist took a swab test and still waiting on results from lab. Next visit I'm doing a Cystoscopy to further diagnose this.
It took about 1-2 days and I started having UTI kind of symptoms. Problems urinating and a little bit of stinging/burning sensation while doing so. I had plenty of STD tests taken (some of them twice) and everything except one turned out to be negative. Ureaplasma parvum was found.

That is an excellent question, since both antibiotics are fluoroquinalones, the same class of drugs. It is not a good idea to take a "lot of these drugs". Tendon rupture and horrible aches and pains for months can result. People have different genetic tolerances. I can tolerate Cipro, for example, however Levofloxacin caused me terrible problems for almost eight months. Getting back to your question the answer is "probably", but not absolutely positively. .
Careful with Levofloxacin. Sometimes the side effects aren't worth the benefits. I took Levofloxacin to cure a bout of pneumonia. Sure enough, the infection cleared up, but my joints ached so bad I could not raise my arms to take a shower, put my clothes on, bend to tie my shoes, get in and out of a car quickly. Strength training and jogging was out of the question for a month.
