I'm sorry to trouble any of you with these concerns, however, I do not know where to turn and am running out of peace in mind. On July 7th 2012, I went to the section of the Bronx and received oral sex (unprotected) from a younger streetwalker. She used the condom at first but then took it off because of the discomfort it had on me (too tight). Absolutely reckless, I know and am sweating with my dear life right now.
I had a sleep study done and waiting for results. I have had Levaquin 500 mg for 20 days. Then Levaquin 750 mg for 10 days. I still have fever and sinus headaches. The doctor also started me on Mucinex. I do not think it is doing anything at all. My fever varies from 99.9 to 100.5. I am always tired. I don't feel I am getting any answers and I don't want to feel like this anymore.
has anyone had bad side effects from useing aniniotics such as levaquin? i started haveing severe symptoms a few days after i started takeing them such as sore joints muscle pain dizzyness extreme fatigue an weakness..
So now I'm on Levaquin for 3 weeks for a sinus infection. One of the side effects is tendonitis. I already have tendonits (both wrists) and everything has failed including physical therapy and steroid injections, i was referred to surgeon now as nothing has worked, have an appoint in November. Should I take the levaquin if i already have tendonitis? The sinus infection is bad saw ENT friday and put me on levaquin.

I have been struggling for years now. I was hopsitalized with pseudomonas pnemonia in 2000. Ever since then I've had chronic sinusitis. I have had two sinus surgeries. I found a good ENT in Anchorage that took cultures - it was pseudomonas again. Been on antibiotics, etc. He said that I have biofilms. Been flushing like crazy.
Seemed like it got better, but about a week or two later after I finished the antibiotics I got sick again and got another (this time over the phone) prescription for more Levaquin. Then I got double sick again WHILE STILL ON the Levaquin. This meant another expensive doctor's appointment, confirmation that my lymph nodes are swollen, and more pus found in my nose. Now I have just finished a round of oral steroids, am on more nasal steroids, and am on Biaxin for 14 days.
Hi, welcome to the forum, your symptoms are suggestive of chronic sinusitis. Sinusitis is caused by too much mucus, or a swelling of the lining of the sinuses and nose, which can block the narrow channels. The causes of these are bacterial infection like streptococcal, staphylococcal, Tuberculosis, Bronchiectasis and Fungal infections.
This can be associated with postnasal drip and throat clearing. This can in turn irritate the throat lining.
I had a cold about 6 weeks ago and my doctor thought I hand sinusitis and prescribed me a z-pack. I did not tell him about the unprotected sex at that time. The cough has only seemed to gotten worse over time and they have now prescribed me 500mg levaquin with the same diagnosis. I have no redness, bumps, rash, etc. Is there any chance that these symptoms are related to an oral STD. There was no fluid exchanged so maybe that helps some. Should I have anything to worry about?
I got a 10 day treatment of Levaquin from my allergist. I have taken 3 pills. It has helped a little, but not alot. They told me to make an appointment if I did not feel better by Wednesday. Should I be feeling better by now? I do not work anywhere near my allergist so taking time off of work is a problem. I have 2 more days of pills to take. I still feel pressure in my jaw(I need tylenol for this). Sudafed helps some with stuffiness. My nasal drip is a bit better but still going on.
I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.
I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days. Please help me.

Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage.
Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects???
I think my mom was on it (IV) but didn't have any side effects. All I can say is if they want to put you on it, ask for something else unless there is no choice! Thanks!

I have had chronic respiratory problems since I was a child. I am now over 70. I have sinusitis which sometimes becomes acute. I don't have asthma attacks, but I have been described as having "reactive airways syndrome," which seems to be an accurate description of what happens when I get a cold. I also have some allergies. I have had pneumonia three times.
Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.
No change in bowel or bladder except he recently has been on levaquin for second episode of prostatitis (first episode 20 years ago).
Any ideas about what is going on?

My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.
I came home that day washed very well and started drinking a lot of fluids. I ended up starting to take antibiotics as well. I had a prescription for Levaquin 500 mg pills. I have 20 days worth. Will that kill anything that I could have contracted?
I've been on 500mg. of Levaquin for 4 days and I'm having difficulty breathing. Not all the time at times it's just hard to catch my breath without doing anything too physical. Has anyone else had this side effect?
My doctor prescribed prednisone, Symbicort, and also wants to give me Levaquin. I am over 55 years old, and I also have pre-diabetes (6.0 A1C - and am on metformin), and high blood pressure being successfully treated via Benicar. Two nurse friends of mine are literally screaming at me to not take the Levaquin due to achilles muscle rupture tendencies (one is suffering personally from it at this time and has been for more than one year now).
