After a couple of days I started feeling pain in my upper chest, shoulder, down my right arm and right underarm. The pain feels like a needle is jabbing me. Sometimes the pain will go away and somtimes it is very bad and lasts for weeks at a time. I also have some musle pain in these areas. Can you please help me figure out what to do about this.
I took Levaquin unfortunately last week to treat a bacterial infection. The infection is gone but now my legs are tingling all the time and are in pain as well. I am wondering how long these side effects last and if there is any way to make them go away sooner. I am also having trouble sleeping now. I wish I knew this before taking this!!!

ve been tested so much I also suspect they would have found any lasting kidney or liver damage. Joint and tendon pain is common in both adults and young people. One thing doctors aren't very good at is knowing when a medication is responsible for your problems, largely because their culture is so pro-medication as taught in medical school.
I ahve had stones with terrible pain and stones with little or no pain.......that kind of pain was only maneable for me with morphine....so I don't envy you. I was only clearly diagnosed the first time because I pass them at the hospital and they were large enough to see....but I have also had them many times where I must have passed them without even noticing.
Ok so i went to the doctors for because i had kidney pain and i my urethra itches constantly my tongue is a whitish color and i have dry mouth, at night i sweat alot in my sleep, my tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia came back negative i also have ahad headaches im worried any ideas what it could be?
Yeah, some docs don't like the drugs in that family of abx (Levaquin, Avelox, Cipro) as eventually they're going to get a patient with a bad reaction. Nothing like a ruptured achilles heel requiring surgery, crutches, and rehab to **** off a patient! ;)
I just did my second set of blood tests today, and I see my LLMD on Wed. I have slowly declining kidney function, but I don't know if that's related to the Levaquin or what.
One of my many side effects early on was severe lower back pain, flu-like symtoms that included sweats, achiness, joint pain, abdominal pain, rash on legs and a ton of other symptoms.. I only took it for 3 1/2 days, but paid for it for 5 wks after taking it. In my opinion it is a horrible drug. I could barely get out of bed during those 5wks the joint pain was so horrible. severe constipation, severe gas pressure on my left side, pain in my penis and bladder, pain in my penis when urinating, urgency, a tight scrotum with ultra-sensitive "burning" skin, and an occassional rash on my hands, feet and abdomen. The clinic doctor did not think that any of this was related to my initial injury and told me to go see my personal doctor, which I did. As a result, I ended up having two ultrasounds (one from the clinic and one from my personal doctor).

But it seems like the symptoms changed a bit, now I have lower abdomen pain (around 3 inches below the belly button, the pain is usually on the left side but sometimes on the right too). It is somewhat dull but it almost always is apparent. I am on Levaquin right now (500 mg daily for 2 weeks) in an attempt to clear out any infections.
My symptoms are pain/pressure in the perinium, burning after urinating and some redness/pain on end of penis when I have the burning, intermittent pain in right testicle, general dull intermittent pain in the pelvis low/back, dribbling after urinating and frequent/urgent need to urinate. Sometimes I have had pain in the testicles after ejaculation.
43 male only after sex will have pain in buttochs testicles sore prenium sore some slight leg pain last 12 to 24 hrs then goes a way.I am fine but if i have sex the symptoms will apear in about 2 hrs.Have tried antibiotics for prostate possible infection.I have seen a MD many times but nothing conclusive any ideas.
I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.
I had an 11mm stone removed and it was located in my pelvic kidney. The stent giving me more pain then the stones. I had been to 6 urologist and finally was looking forward to not having pain. But this is the most pain I have ever had in my life. After 3 days I told the doctor I could not stand the pain not to even say days of urine over flowing diapers and pads and change clothes and sheets. The nurse in the outpatient asked the doctor to order a B & O supository.
A few months ago I started to have pain in my left kidney. It came out of no where. I researched online and was 100% sure I had a kidney infection. I was tight on money so I got Cipro from a friend. On day five of the antibiotic I still felt ill. I went to the ER for same day tests. They said my urine was "contaminated" since I was already on antibiotics. Let me begin by saying that I have a kidney condition known as FSGS. My kidney function has basically normal (stage 1-kidney disease). I check my urine at home with Chem Strips to check for protein. About a month ago I noticed nitrates were testing positive on the strips (Only +first morning urine), I had no symptoms of a UTI and I did nothing.
About a week later I had symptoms of irritation in my penis (it hurt too) - which worsened over time, then came the burning sensation and itching at the tip of the penis occassionaly. Have abdominal pain too, I also had dribbling when I was done urinating, left my boxers all wet with urine, most recently my testicles seem very tender.
I went to a walk-in clinic (I thought it was a UTI) that's what I told the Dr.
