levaquin

Avatar m tn Usually a course of clindamycin or Amoxillicin is prescribed for an oral infection but Cipro should work fine.
Avatar m tn Levaquin is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, sinuses, kidneys, bladder, or prostate. Levaquin is also used to treat bacterial infections that cause bronchitis or pneumonia. Hope this is helpful. Sorry I'm tardy with my response.
Avatar n tn Levaquin might not be good for a cold, say. I was on it for two years for crazy infections bc I was unknowingly living in a home with mold. Yes it caused tendon swelling and pain but I’m glad to be alive without pneumonia MMRSA and MMR!
Avatar m tn I had levaquin for three separate infections at the same time -- had no problems other than complete and utter exhaustion -- hope you all feel better Jeanne
Avatar f tn I have taken Levaquin numerous times for bronchial and lung infections. The chief of staff at UAB, Birmingham, Alabama told me to always drink tons of water when taking Levaquin. I drink 32 oz. of water with every pill, and another 32 oz. during the day. Before this, I took Levaquin and had problems with my joints. I do not have a problem at all when I drink the water. Maybe this will help.
Avatar f tn I have been told that the antibiotics for dental work are no longer necessary unless you have serious heart conditions, such as artifical valves. They also may interact with Warfarin and perhaps anti-arrthymic meds. Make sure you ask your cardiologist if you actually need the antibiotics before dental work. I've taken them for years and now the thinking is we don't need them. You make want to check it out. Good luck.
Avatar f tn i have an absses in my top tooth it has become swollen and has made my cheek swell and is traveling up my face and my temple is now swollen. i am on amoxicillin for two days. im worried that it could be dangerous with the swelling on my face.
Avatar f tn Thank you for any suggestions/advice!!!
1726450 tn?1316282511 They also prescribe Cipro before dental work for us that are decompensated and are prone to infections which can be very serious for us. And cause us to be hospitalized and put on IV antibiotics.
Avatar n tn physical examination was normal, rectal examination was normal, and ultrasound showed no abnormalities/masses/swelling. I was on Levaquin for 7 days/500mg and this has not really helped. I am not really sure what to do now. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks a lot.
Avatar n tn I appreciate your prompt response. I will get a urine test right away. Will the levaquin for my prosititis affect my urine test results?
Avatar m tn at the same time I was still on the Levaquin...that I feel is important because we were on the Levaquin at the same time for a week. If We had any GC or NGU...that should have been cured concurrently right? From that point she got better with exception of 2 yeast infections which she insists are normal and she does have frequently... and I did not...which leads me to the prostatitis again. But the timing of the prostatitis really has be snagged. On a side note...
Avatar m tn Yes, I've left a message for my doctor asking for an alternative. I'm waiting for is reply.
Avatar m tn In conclusion, Levaquin just changed my intestinal flora or killed it and its taken that long to get the right balance again. Of course levaquin did create other issues and apparently its taken about the same time for those to go away.
Avatar m tn was prescribed levaquin 500mg for 7 days.
Avatar m tn Topical corticosteroids may also be helpful for occasional use eg. triamcinolone in dental paste applied several times a day when required. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn In 2007 chronic UTIs started (all with positive U&C >100,000) for various bacteria: mostly E coli, but also staph, strep, E hermanos, kleb pneu, citro koseri. So far, 13 episodes in past year. Pain in groin, flank prior to and at onset of UTI & fatigue. Only had 2-3 UTIs ever before 2007. Also small kidney stone L mid-kidney, 2mm CT diag 2008; (Nov 09 renal scan 4mm). Various antibiotics (adverse reactions w/numerous meds when trying low dose preventative therapy.
867582 tn?1311627397 I nearly died from Levaquin. Unfortunately I was given this antibiotic for no real reason and I suffered dearly for it. (but that's another story) I am concerned that some of our veterans have been damaged by the fluoroquinoloes as they were given out like candy to our military personnel.
Avatar m tn The sinus flush part was for the left side infection. Yes, continue with antibiotics for the dental infection, as those follow the usual medical model for infections.
Avatar f tn t recommend that and my doctor has promised to figure out an alternative for future infections. The first time, the serious fatigue and joint pain lasted about 3 weeks total (including the 10 days). The second time it was about 5 weeks. I've heard reports from friends about people with serious/painful side effects lasting months, but everyone I've talked to has kicked the side effects in the end.
1211949 tn?1271716170 Ive been on azythromycin twice and levaquin as well as suprax for gonorrhea even though I tested negative for it. I have taken two tests since and both have come back negative from gonorrhea and chlamydia. Things just dont feel right down there. I have been to a urologist twice, and he thinks I am okay. But I masterbated earlier and it stung a little bit while i tried to hold back an orgasm. I am afraid because that was the one symptom I had along with yellow discharge when I had chlamydia.
Avatar m tn Levaquin isn't used in 90% of the country (if you mean the US) for gonorrhea, but it is used frequently for prostatitis. And no, gonorrhea wouldn't show up on a pap smear. It would, however, show up on an std test that the doc might have done along with the pap. You have a clear diagnosis of an infection in your prostate. I would go with that.
