levaquin

Avatar f tn yes the Tylenol really can and does destroy your liver .Go see your doctor he can do a simple blood test the we let him know who your liver is working .
Avatar f tn Levaquin prescribed by my doctor was the cause. This was the only medication I was taking. My numbers came down as soon as I stopped taking the Levaquin.
Avatar m tn I am a 24 year old female, and for the past 3-4 months, when I wake up in the morning, I feel a dull throbbing sensation in the flank (bilaterally). I also feel fullness in the morning and I can feel it more when I take a deep breath. When I go to the restroom and urinate, the dull aching subsides. I have also become slightly incontinent. Before, no matter how intense the urge was to go to the restroom I was able to hold myself, but not anymore. I also feel like the stream is narrower.
Avatar n tn Recently I saw my MD and she ordered several blood tests and MRI to look for MS and other peripheral neuropathy causes. All blood tests and the MRI were normal. I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.
Avatar f tn I was on levofloxacin (Levaquin) for my Bart, and I had to stop after six weeks when I developed pain in my left achilles heel. I was disappointed as my anxiety pretty much disappeared on it. Levaquin is known to cause tendon rupture, especially in the achilles tendons, even weeks or months after a person stops taking the drug.
Avatar f tn You need to write a letter and send it certified mail. Pain in the joints and elsewhere are common side effects of Levaquin. Most times this wears off (the good news), but there are instances of long-term damage from this particular antibiotic (that's the bad news). Statistics are on your side.
Avatar n tn s say that the doctor calls me before the weekend and says that I did indeed have a bacterial infection that the Levaquin treated and all other tests came back negative (this is a hypothetical situation obviously). I started taking it today (Monday); by the time Saturday rolls around, I will have taken my 6/7 dose. My question is this: will I still be able to transmit any infection that I may have right now? Or will the Levaquin have made it so I am no longer contagious?
Avatar f tn Many antibioitics cause reflux. Levaquin is a strong one and is known to cause problems. I would recommend that you take the Levaquin with dinner tonight (it is supposed to be taken with food) and then enjoy the evening with your husband so you can both monitor your symptoms. If you have the difficulty breathing again, you should go to an ER. Also, if you are an asthmatic, you probably just need to use your inhaler on a regular basis while you get over this infection.
Avatar m tn Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.
Avatar m tn I was on levaquin a couple years ago, it made me very sick to my stomach and gave me some joint pain. I didn't realize until after I took it that it can damage tendons and I read it can also cause hernias. I would never take it again. That's just my opinion, I would also ask for something else.
Avatar f tn I went to the dr. today and was dx with a UTI. I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days. Please help me. 1137036 tn?1263515995 Plus I concouisuly stoped clearing my throat (and the raw throat started to feel better a few hours later), every time I felt the need to clear I would sip on tea, take a mint or just swallow. I took tylenol and later ibuprophin (thinking my ear eustachian tube maybe infected or inflammed). I quit smoking 4 days ago and live in central Bangkok with alot of smog. This is really getting to me, I will go back to the ENT guy tomorrow.
Avatar n tn The typical symptoms of prostatitis are fever, pelvic, testicle, or rectal pain, frequent and painful urination and ejaculation and incomplete emptying of bladder. In addition to the antibiotics, use medications to help relieve bothersome symptoms, such as alpha blockers to relieve urinary symptoms and anti-inflammatory medications for pain. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn If you have been taking levaquin, do not have a urine chlamydia test. Levaquin cures chlamydia and would make the test negative, even if you were infected recently. At this point, there is no point in having any more chlamydia testing at all.
793305 tn?1493925518 I would trust the pharmacist. I have had levaquin and synthroid and it has been fine. They have website that you can search the reaction of medications with each other. Just google it. Good luck!
Avatar n tn At this point I still had a bit of swelling in the testicle and spoke with my urologist and was prescribed another course of levaquin. ive taken it for 7 days now and see that i am still having the clear discharge and have some discomfort. also, i was also treated for a mycoplasma pnemonia infection about 3 weeks prior and was given clarithomycin for 10 days. i went to a new doctor, because I just moved out of state, and am waiting the results of a urinalysis.
Avatar n tn I went back to doctor and went on another cycle of levaquin. The swelling still remained and the spot remained too, until I took a Q tip and wiped it away myself (lol gross, but it was bothering me). Ever since the second cycle of levaquin I have had the feeling of my throat swelling up, and a sensation of a lump whenever I swallow. I can swallow and breath fine, it just feels like tightness, like I am being choked.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed six 500mg Levaquin tablets to treat Strep Throat and a potential sinus infection. I only took 4 of the 6 pills since the side effects were getting to much to handle. I started on 3/12/2010 to 3/15/2010. Here were the side effects: -nausea -no appetite -headaches -dizziness -diarrhea -anxiety attacks -confusion, like you don't feel like yourself After I stopped taking it, my nausea and appetite returned gradually in the following two days.
Avatar n tn The levaquin has had very minimal impact overall and I wish he’d given me more cipro and a longer cycle. Has anyone had a similar case where you relapses quickly? If so, were you given a new med and did that work? Were you given the same med? Any other ideas or insights would be helpful.
Avatar n tn My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.
Avatar f tn Went back after 2 weeks and the dr said the bladder infection was gone, but I had to keep on with the Levaquin as I was showing signs of pneumonia and he took another blood test. On the 3rd week of Levaquin, the dr called and said I was highly allergic to Levaquin and get to his office immediately. He gave me a new antibiotic shot and within an hour I was very ill. The next morning I woke up with a fever, unable to breathe and move my left side.
Avatar n tn I have levaquin for an ear infection and I had two refills. So i just filled. them. Wouldn't it just make sense to take it to its completion?
Avatar n tn I've been on 500mg. of Levaquin for 4 days and I'm having difficulty breathing. Not all the time at times it's just hard to catch my breath without doing anything too physical. Has anyone else had this side effect?
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed prednisone, Symbicort, and also wants to give me Levaquin. I am over 55 years old, and I also have pre-diabetes (6.0 A1C - and am on metformin), and high blood pressure being successfully treated via Benicar. Two nurse friends of mine are literally screaming at me to not take the Levaquin due to achilles muscle rupture tendencies (one is suffering personally from it at this time and has been for more than one year now).
