793305 tn?1493925518 I would trust the pharmacist. I have had levaquin and synthroid and it has been fine. They have website that you can search the reaction of medications with each other. Just google it. Good luck!
Avatar f tn You need to write a letter and send it certified mail. Pain in the joints and elsewhere are common side effects of Levaquin. Most times this wears off (the good news), but there are instances of long-term damage from this particular antibiotic (that's the bad news). Statistics are on your side.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've been suffering from urinary tract infections for about the last two and a half years. It got to the point where I was having a huge flare up every two months. Every time I got a culture, the results would come back and they said that there was a small amount of bacteria in my urine, but the culture itself was negative. I just went to a new urologist, and he had me give a sample and take it to the lab in the same building as his office for a culture.
168348 tn?1379357075 Just wondering bcz I am on the Levaquin 500mgs 1X day for 7 days for a pretty bad urinary tract infection / small stone that passed (kidney) and along with normal side effects like gas, and feeling some tired/dizzy which I usually get from Levaquin I keep getting chills and more tired than normal but it comes and goes and yet my clinical symptoms for the UTI/stone passing are cleared up I do not think the chills are related to the medical problem and really wondering if after 5 days my TSH is
Avatar f tn Yes, I will NEVER take any levaquin or any others in that family. Had terrible side effects, had to go to ER. I think these are very powerful antibiotics... should be used only as last resort. Good luck to all!
Avatar m tn Hi and Welcome t o our Pain Management Forum. Levaquin is an excellant ATB (Antibiotic). However like many medications it comes with some risks and side effects. Form a trusted Web-site: "Levaquin is associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture or swelling of the tendon (tendinitis) in all ages. This risk is higher if you are over 60 years of age, are taking steroids (corticosteroid drugs), or if you have kidney, heart, or lung transplants" .....
Avatar f tn A few months ago I started to have pain in my left kidney. It came out of no where. I researched online and was 100% sure I had a kidney infection. I was tight on money so I got Cipro from a friend. On day five of the antibiotic I still felt ill. I went to the ER for same day tests. They said my urine was "contaminated" since I was already on antibiotics. They said to keep taking it and maybe slept wrong. I took it for seven days.
Avatar n tn The two things that pop into my head when an older animal starts to drink excessively and urinate in the house are kidney failure and diabetes, although there can be other reasons. A trip to the vet is definitely in order ASAP. If you catch it early, kidney failure is something that an animal can live comfortable with for quite a few years, so don't panic.
82861 tn?1333453911 If there is no infection than your dog has kidney damage or kidney failure, and you will have to treat agressively to save the kidneys by using Sub Q fluid therapy, phosphate binders if the phosphate is also elevated, kidney saving herbs such as Rehmannia 8 and more. Please write back once you have additional test results. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hi my dog is 3 year old took her vet cos she was sick it was green so they took a blood test and it came back of the scales the vet said its says high for the urea 46.4 and crea 749 and phos says 5.
Avatar f tn I lost my dog in August of 2006 from kidney failure. She was lethargic and had no appetite, so I took her to the vet. He thought she could recover with iv fluids, etc. and so she spent 4 days at the vet clinic. She didn't like other dogs or the vet, so I still feel bad that this is where she spent the last few days of her life. In the end they couldn't do anything for her so I had her put to sleep. It was a very difficult thing. I found the following website very useful.

541196 tn?1293552936 Hi there, I am hoping someone can help me with tying some symptoms and tests together so I can talk to my dr. who is already overwhelmed by me. I have been having reoccuring kidney/flank pain that last a week or more. Dr. is never sure if it's a kidney infection or kidney stone or something else. Urine test shows presence of blood AND protien. Urine is cloudy off and on when pain is present and often when pain is not present as well. I am 31 years old. Female.

Avatar f tn My 6 year 10 month Russian Blue male cat was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with kidney failure. His only symptons were a bout of vomiting and lethargy. His blood work was quite elevated, BUN 83mg/dl, CREA 5.1mg/dl, PHOS 8.8mg/dl. He has been given fluids twice and we have been giving him Azodyl capsules twice a day. Also sprinkling Epikatin on his food twice a day. We have been trying to transition him to renal diet with not a lot of success.
Avatar m tn Renal anomalies could be responsible for decreased or deranged renal function and may lead to renal failure. One working kidney is enough for normal functions of the body. It would be difficult to comment if your other symptoms could be related. I would suggest discussing the situation and the suggested management plan in detail with your treating nephrologist. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

Avatar m tn Samantha is a nearly 18 years old bichon fries and was diagnosed with kidney failure on Oct 2. She has good days and bad days. Sam has been on daily IV fluids since Oct. She takes zantac, vitamins, cranberry, denamarin and anti phosphorous medicine twice daily. She has lost considerable weight and lately has become disinterested in food. I am supplementing her kittle intake of food with nutrical. That's the bad news.
Avatar n tn My bichon has lost a lot of weight and now just lies in her bed although she is eating and drinking. Had her bloods done yesterday and vet said today she has very bad kidney failure. She is staying in vets overnight on iv drip. This ever happen to anyone and what was outcome?
Avatar m tn It HAS brought about good results in my own dog now, of course, she had very early-stage Chronic Kidney Failure (and not Acute Kidney Failure) so the circumstances are different, I realize. The canned version would be easy to let down with water, to make syringe-feeding easier. Depending on what you feel about what your current vet says to you about her condition (listen carefully, because he may be quite wise about her situation.....
Avatar f tn I looked up stage 3 kidney failure, and found the following. I hope you find it helpful somehow, and blessings for you and your dog - Blu Stage 3 kidney disease is one of the final stages of canine kidney disease, in which your dog will begin showing symptoms of kidney failure. Canine kidney disease occurs when, for whatever reason, your dog's kidneys are not doing their job of removing toxins from the blood efficiently.
