letrozole ohss

i went to the doctor on monday and i have over 22 follicles (biggest being 12mm e2 level at 400) they had me stop taking the medications because im only 22 and they were scared of OHSS. I went back today after not taking the injections for two days and one follicle grew to 16mm. i had 2 or 3 at 14mm and the rest were under 12mm. The doc to take 50 iu of the injectables and to come back on friday to see if any grew. what are the chances that they will grow?

I finally broke down after 26 mo of TTC, 8 clomid cycles, 2 IUIs and trigger shots and went to the RE for advice. After AF shows in 2 weeks or so - we will start on letrozole with CD3 blood work and U/S and then do another IUI. If that is unsuccessful - we will do IVF. Has anyone done letrozole vs clomid? side affects? BFPs?

Hi tinaa007 - Try not to worry to much abt the IVF process. You have gone thru the correct protocol of having IUIs done prior to moving to IVF so you are on the right track. I have had 5 IUIs and also because of my DH male factor, IVF is the next step for us. I have recently started the process and am currently on BCP and started lupron injections earlier this week. I think IVF is more an emotional process vs a painful process. You just take things one day at a time and go from there.

Has anyone ever used Letrozole? Was it beneficial? Did you get a BFP? Any side effects?

Who is to say really when OHSS normally starts...... I thot it would be obvious from ER but in my case I was about 8dp2dt when I suddenly had very bloated tummy, it was all the way to my chest, I couldnt walk straight, I was nauseous, throw up a couple of times,had no appetite and my pee was dark.....all symptoms of a mild case of OHSS. When my dh called the dr and told him, he said it was and I was encouraged to take it easy. It turned out my IVF was a success and we got a BFP!

Do you have ohss? I had ohss after my ivf cycle. My stomach was all bloated up because of water. My doc asked me to drink lots of fluids, specially Gatorade. I had the bloating for two weeks and it away. Sometime when there is too much water, doctor might suggest to drain the water out of your tummy.

Gave me symptoms. I am now on letrozole. Also experiencing symptoms. Will letrozole keep this cancer away. Is there a smaller does than 2.5 of letrozole that I can take.

Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.

But if you do get pregnant you will be in a lot of pain if your OHSS is pretty bad. I did not have OHSS but I know that some clinics after retrieval freeze all embryos or retrieved eggs and try a transfer a month later after your body recovers from OHSS. Is it normal with OHSS to feel nauseous every time you put food into your mouth?

Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?

I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march.The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.

So tonight I Trigger at 8pm, My E2 is 5600. My RE was concerned about OHSS. I feel fine. I feel my ovaries but no PAIN. I have 20 follies all seems well, was just wondering if maybe It might get worse by Sunday my ER day. Any one ever have this?

Hi everyone. I'm in the middle of my 2ww after an IVF cycle. The day after my transfer, I started showing signs of OHSS. They were pretty mild....just bloating, nauseau and cramps. I'm starting to feel better now, which I've heard is bad because OHSS symptoms usually persist if there is a pregnancy. Does anyone know anything about this?

Hi, I'm 31 with unexplained infertility. I have had an HSG (all clear) and had three failed IUI's (2 with Clomid and one with Gonal F). I got mild OHSS on 75 iu of Gonal F in April and my cysts did not resolve when I got my period. I had a full pelvic ultrasound in May which showed multiple cysts on both ovaries. The radiologist could not rule out an endometrioma. I am on the birth control pill this month to supress my ovaries to get rid of the cysts.

I went to my RE today for day 3 labs and US he found 17 mm on my left ovary and on my paper it says ohss my question is should i be worried? I am a little scared b/c of everything I have read about OHSS. I am waiting on the DR. to call with my lab results.

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?

I followed the diet because I was very nervous and I thankfully did not get OHSS. Extreme OHSS is very rare but even a moderate case can be very uncomfortable due to fluid build up etc. - At least 1 litre of Gatorade and or V8 juice per day (chicken soup is also good) - 2 meal replacements a day (such as Ensure - not sure if you have this in the US?) Good luck! Hopefully you don't get OHSS..and you DO get a BFP!

i got ohss and doc still did transfer, im am pregnate 5w now, ohss was awful i still have a mild case but subsides more and more day by day,im not sure what effects it has on babies, but the pain and preasure is obserd..

I developed OHSS in my first IVF;however, my syntoms disapeared two days after my embryo transfer, so that means I am not pregnat. I have been researcing about OHSS and what I have found out is that OHSS gets worst when you get pregnat. In my case, my symtoms disapeared two days afert, my transfer. I am so disapointed and starting to be negative that after all the pain that I went trought my cycle won't work.

But if you do have OHSS it will come back if you get pregnant. Rising hcg makes OHSS pain worth. But, OHSS does not affect your chances of getting pregnant, so that's a good news. Good luck!!!!

I used to have 9 to 16 days of bleeding before letrozole! After being on letrozole, how many days are you bleeding? This is my second time with Letrozole and I had 9 days of bleeding the first time. By Day 5 I'm ready to quit letrozole because it makes my bones a bit achy, my breasts are super tender and less firm, and overall I feel like I constantly have a buzz that you get with one glass of wine.
