letrozole iui

This is my third round of letrozole. 1st with an iui, 2nd with natural trying, 3rd with iui on may 2nd. This is my last round of letrozole so I pray it worked. Good luck!!!!

I was on Clomid but asked my RE about Letrozole because I have a friend who got pregnant twice on second round of IUI with Letrozole. RE said it was merely doctor preference. My RE has higher success rates with clomid so that's what he prescribes, but his partner in the same clinic uses Letrozole almost exclusively. I'm sure that wasn't very helpful... but thought I'd share.

In my case I opted for clomid/iui because of the costs of letrozole. This last cycle I was successful with a combo of clomid/injectibles/iui. Hang in there and good luck!!

I had my 1st appt with an RE today. He wants to do a superovulation / IUI with Letrozole. I am to take 2 - 2.5mg tablets days 3 - 7. After reading up on this, it is the same thing as Femara right? Has anyone taken this med and does it actually work alone? My other ? is, he said that we can try this for 3 - 4 cycles, but after that we have to think about IVF?? The only things that I have tried in the past are 4 cycles of clomid and 1 IUI. Why would he skip injectables??

I have done Letrozole twice now, one with an IUI that ended up with a BFN this morning. I'm super bummed about it...trying to be as positive as possible. Will go in for a beta tomorrow morning to check where my hormone levels are-that has to be helpful to know, right? We've been ttc for over 2 years now and had a mc in Feb. 08 when trying w/o meds or anything. I had no side effects with Letrozole and my lining was great apparently.

i had an iui on sept 26th, which im pretty sure it didnt take this month. when they did my day 12 us they said my lining had the 3 layers but was on 6mm thick. re said its probably from the clomid and that if this last iui didnt work they would have to switch my meds. what do they put you on if clomid is causing problems?

Btw what kind of meds were you taking before they did the iui. I had 2 diff doc that did my iui. My first one was done by my gynae. I was on clomid back then. Not much work was done. My 2nd one was done by a fertility doc. I took letrozole on day 3 to 7. Menopur shot day 3, 6, 9. Then hcg shot on day 10. They monitored my follicles and lining. I can just hope and pray for now. And ohhh. With my fertility specialist, they will do an iui twice for a cycle. Which is today and tomorrow.

Has anyone ever used Letrozole? Was it beneficial? Did you get a BFP? Any side effects?

My fertility doctor put me on 2.5 letrozole days 3-7. Has anyone got pregnant with this medicine? How long did it take?

I had 2 follicles. My RE now wants me to try Letrozole this time around again with the trigger and IUI. Has anyone tried this drug and what were the differences from clomid? I believe this is the same as femara? Any advice/knowledge you have would be great. Thanks!

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?

I had also already had a laproscopy and tubes flushed so after the panel we were ready to start the letrozole. So i took letrozole days 3 thru 7 of cycle and on day 12 of cycle I went to RE for vaginal u/s to check # of follicles and size. I was told to use OPKs starting cd10 and when I got the LH surge to call RE and set iui for the next morning. So me and my DH went into office that morning and before we done anything they done another vag u/s to check uterine lining and ovulation.

I have had 2 failed IUI's. My doc doubled my dose of Letrozole this month to 5mg days 3-7. Went in on day 10 and had 3 growing follicles, 10mm, 11mm, and 13mm. On day 12 went back in 2 days later and had only 2 follicles and the biggest was only 14mm, so it only grew 1mm in 2 days. Went in for 3rd sono hoping for at least 18-20mm after it being 4 days since last sono, but still only had 2 follicles that were 13mm and 15mm.

I used to have 9 to 16 days of bleeding before letrozole! After being on letrozole, how many days are you bleeding? This is my second time with Letrozole and I had 9 days of bleeding the first time. By Day 5 I'm ready to quit letrozole because it makes my bones a bit achy, my breasts are super tender and less firm, and overall I feel like I constantly have a buzz that you get with one glass of wine.

I had first round of IUI in March after 3 years of infertility and ended up miscarrying at 7 weeks. What are the odds we will get pregnant again soon? I didnt get my first period post miscarriage for about 6 weeks; so thought about trying again next month (July). Need some encouragement.

I am 30 years old and me and my husband have been trying to conceive for 1 year now. Started with 50 mg clomid and went up to 150 mg. changed 2 doctors in the course. Had 1 IUI with Clomid done in Feb'08. Changed to 3rd doctor after that..and he switched me to Letrozole in Mar and did an IUI with it. He also put me on Metformin and Synthroid and said I have mild PCOS. Got laparoscopy done in Apr and found level 2 endometriosis.

Regardless, one of the treatments for LPD is clomid, or letrozole. In my experience, letrozole (femara) often results in later than expected ovulation - not a bad thing but a characteristic of the medication. Concerning the 4% morphology, a better test of your partner's sperm's ability to fertilize your eggs is your IVF history. Were there any problems with fertilization? Was ICSI used?

I have been taking letrozole for the last 6 months as well as have had 4 rounds of iui sith no sucess, last month they had my on 5mg of letrozole, this month I decided to cut it back down to 2.5. without the meds i can skip my period for 3mths at a time, on it I get it every month, never missing. i have also never been 10 days late, which i am now......good news, i would wish for a positive, only problem is I took test 2 days ago (which means on 8 day late) and negitive.

However I would recommend two other options. One is to consider a drug called letrozole. Sometimes clomid, although it makes women with PCOS ovulate, causes the uterine lining (or endometrium) to be too thin to support a pregnancy. Letrozole does not have this side effect. Another set of drugs to consider are injection fertility drugs. It is pretty common for clomid to fail - only about 50% of women who ovulate on clomid actually get pregnant.

If i had an IUI on March 15&March 16th when would implantation happen? Anyone know?

While we are excited, I am terrified that we may have high order multiples. We used Follistim and letrozole. I had an IUI on cycle day 12. On day 9 I had 3 dominant follicles measuring 18 and one smaller one at 12. I did not have another ultrasound after this. I took one more dose of Follistim per my dr. orders and then took my trigger shot on day 10. Should I be concerned?

hai i am 24yrs old...i did my 2nd iui...21days after iui i didnt get period but we did blood test ..its negative i have normal 28 days cycle....

I agree with Sam!! Drinks tons of water, tons! No BD'ing 24 hours before IUI and try not to worry and stress. I know, easier said than done, right? I'm on my third IUI with Letrozole and Trigger shot. I'm hoping for the best. :) Going to re-evaluate if this does not work and maybe move on to injectibles with IUI. We'll see. Good luck!! Hello, I am extremelly frustrated at this point of TTC. A year and some ago I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks, followed by a DNC and a chemical pregnancy. In March, i got discovered a fibroid in my uterus and was put on lupron to shrink it. In May i went under Lap and found no fibroid and some endo that the RE took care of. Now, after all this time and my husband's good SA results, both have been checked for blood and chromosomal disorders and we are all clear, we still can't get pregnant!

I have been put on Letrozole 5 mg days 5-9 and would be going for my 1st IUI on Sep 2nd...I start the letrozole tomorrow.. can anyone share their letrozole experiences ? any side effects I should look out for? I was on Clomid 100 mg for two cycles and that did not suit me at all.. baby dust to all!

Usually REs will start you out on clomid or letrozole. If they don't work they move you on to injectibles (which are basically LH and/or FSH) such as menopur, follistim, gonal-f, bravelle, etc. Just depends what your RE prefers to use and what is right for your situation.

So the doctor asked if I would like to just try Letrozole for a little while (in addition to the Glucophage I was already on) and just try the old fashioned way. My husband and I were in agreement... no way, let's get our best chances so we opted to proceed with IUI. As usual I had to take Aygestin to induce a period and I had my AF 1st day Dec 5th. I had an u/s to make sure no cysts on Dec 7th and was started on Letrozole (lowest dose). I had another u/s for follicles on Dec 17th.
