femara

Avatar f tn s muscle, skin, breast and fat), which is used to convert androgens (hormones produced by the adrenal glands) into estrogen. In the absence of estrogen, tumors dependent on this hormone for growth will shrink. Both of these medications have similar FDA approved indications.
Avatar m tn The Doctor recently traded out her Tamoxifen for Letrozole. As far as I know, Tamoxifen is used to prevent the large majority of the hormone being fed on by the cell, whereas Letrozole is supposed to stop the body producing it completely. My mother is 49 at the moment, 50 on September 10th. Her doctor also said that Letrozole can only slow the process down. I have been researching like mad for the last two days, looking up all kinds of treatments.
Avatar f tn So Lupron may be the answer for your son, but you may also want to look into a drug called Letrozole which delays bone maturation (fusion) and this with a growth hormone can increase overall final adult hight by 2 inches. Good luck.
Avatar f tn He is on growth hormone for several years now--I have heard about letrozole and anastrazole but his current endocrinologist is not presribing these drugs. His pediatrician says if something is to be done to help him it should be now. opinions, advice greatly appreciated. thanks.
Avatar m tn Letrozole is effective in increasing final adult height. Many medical studies have shown that. Most doctors don't know it yet. The recommended dose of 2.5 mg is actually not necessary. 0.3 mg will provide similar effects.
Avatar n tn s estrogen and may raise testosterone levels, it is sometimes used with growth hormone. however it can also affect the liver and use of it is controversial in regards to its true benefit. A bone advancement by 2 years is very very mild and if this has remained and not advanced beyond this over time he is even better off than those whose bones advance even more than their age with time.
Avatar m tn Gave me symptoms. I am now on letrozole. Also experiencing symptoms. Will letrozole keep this cancer away. Is there a smaller does than 2.5 of letrozole that I can take.
Avatar f tn Hi I am in the testing phase right now, so I don't know what my hormone levels are or FSH level. But just wondering what types of fertility drugs people are using and what they are for.
Avatar n tn hI, my son now 15 underwent treatment and a bone marrow transplant for Neouroblastoma at the age of four. He's been on growth hormone treatment for 3 years now but with no result. He's only 144cm tall and his endocrinologist says there's no hope because his bones have finished growing and the only suggestion is the bone stretching surgery. Can anyone suggest anything else?
Avatar f tn In terms of growth hormone, prematurity and intraventricular hemorrhage are not generally associated with growth hormone deficiency unless there are problems with other hormones also. It is most likely that your granddaughter's small size is due to her former general illness and prematurity. Babies like her need a tremendous amount of nutrition to achieve "catch up" growth, which can sometimes be hard to obtain if she doesn't eat extremely well.
Avatar n tn Just before i found out i was pregnant my doctor had prescribed me letrozole femara which I didnt end up needing to take. Unfortunately, because I was so overwhelmed with grief over the miscarriage and could not think rationally, I decided to take the letrozole counting the bleeding from the d&c as a period in which i used from day 2 throught to day 6. As mentioned, it has now been 3 weeks 4days since the d&c and today I had a positive pregnancy test.
1626928 tn?1378850167 5mg two times a day of femara/letrozole and 1500mg a day metformin. I am curious about side effects, advice, success stories, etc. I am anxious and have been TTC for 3 years total, 2 with a doctors assistance. THANK YOU in advance.
Avatar m tn We went to have multiple tests done and they confirmed that im producing next to no growth hormone, or something of that nature. Over the last couple years, I noticed that my friends have been getting taller, while im not. They said that if I dont get hormone injections, my platelets? will close and i wont grow at all. I am considering it and am wondering if there are any severe side effects the medication may have.
Avatar n tn I finally broke down after 26 mo of TTC, 8 clomid cycles, 2 IUIs and trigger shots and went to the RE for advice. After AF shows in 2 weeks or so - we will start on letrozole with CD3 blood work and U/S and then do another IUI. If that is unsuccessful - we will do IVF. Has anyone done letrozole vs clomid? side affects? BFPs?
Avatar m tn 4/12, had HSG (no blockage) no Clomid...BFN. 5/12, round 1 of 2.5mg Letrozole my progesterone level 9...waiting on Day 1 of cycle to see if I'm prego. It seems like I'm OV, so whats some of reasons for BFN or what are some other thigns to try?
Avatar n tn She is definitely short and body weight is too high for her height, glad to see you saw an endo. She is gh deficient and this is a very good reason for central obesity(more weight around the tummy) and short stature!!! Do not feel overwhelmed, this is good news, she has a chance for treatment, the mri is done on all of my patients before treatment is started, the best websites to go over gh include magicfoundation.
Avatar m tn Anyone have thoughts on promoting natural secretion of human growth hormone (hGH)?
Avatar m tn If your daughter is 12, actually the treatments are not really cosmetic. growth hormone while the name says growth, actually has more functions and some are very subtle like sleep and some are more real like muscle growth and bone growth. The social stigma of being different at this age can also have lasting effects - so if she starts to lose a lot of height and gets behind her peers, she may lose friends. It sounds shallow - but it really hurts and it does happen. It is just that age group.
Avatar f tn Hormone therapy Hormone therapy may be an option if your cancer relies on hormones to fuel its growth. Most invasive lobular carcinomas are hormone receptor positive, meaning they use hormones for fuel. A sample of your tumor cells is tested to determine whether your cancer is hormone receptor positive. If it is, hormone therapies can block your body from producing hormones or block the cancer cells' ability to use the hormone.
Avatar f tn On days 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 I need to take 1T/day of Letrozole (to stimulate folicle growth). From day 8 onwards 2T/day of Progynova (to ensure thickening of my uteral lining) and from the 3rd day after ovulation, I need to take Duphaston. I can tolerate Letrozole and Duphaston without any problems. But Progynova gives me horrible side effects: dizziness, extreme low energy level and anxiety attacks (never had anxiety before).

Avatar f tn My fertility doctor has now prescribed several hormone supplements. I need to take Letrozole (to help ovulation), Premarin (=estrogen to help build up uterin lining) and duphaston. I was wondering if it is safe to combine this treatment with herbal supplements. I was thinking Evening Primrose Oil (period - ovulation), Flax Seed Oil (ovulation - period) and raspberry leaf tablets (all cycle). Does anyone know whether this is ok? Doe anyone have any experience with this?

Avatar n tn My son started early puberty at age 7 (pubic hair, acne, body odor) - I think it's actually called andrache and not acutally precocious puberty. Regardless he is now 12 years old and has always had an advanced bone age by about 2+ years. Although he is quite tall now 5'4'' (95% on growth chart), because his bone age is so advanced and due to the andrache he will not have the typical growth spurt and will stop growing much earlier than other boys.
