I'd consider trying it but that is totally a personal choice. I do not like to give my kids medication but I saw the impact on my nieces lives to become 'more normal' and it was a positive.
Avatar f tn He is on growth hormone for several years now--I have heard about letrozole and anastrazole but his current endocrinologist is not presribing these drugs. His pediatrician says if something is to be done to help him it should be now. opinions, advice greatly appreciated. thanks.
Avatar m tn My 32 month old has been followed by a pediatrician for short stature (~5th percentile) and a persistent open fontanelle for the past 8 months. My son has more recently also been diagnosed with high myopia (approx -7 in both eyes). I have been concerned with no testing done for the fontanelle to rule out causes. The ophthalmologist has confirmed that high myopia like this in a child this age is very unusual and usually seen in a child with a syndrome or who was premature (he was not).
Avatar f tn From birth there were few other symptoms of this person like short stature, squint, small hands, legs, swelling like lower body, large forehead(all operated corrected stature, eyes so not noticeable except weight gain on lower belly). All kinds of chromosal genetic testing done it came back negative for any other conditions except thyroid which was self diagnosed as doctors were saying everything was alright.
Avatar f tn t undergone puberty yet. Still should I prefer this surgery? My short stature makes me feel inferior and worthless often.
256553 tn?1258883918 I had been using clomid, but my lining is very thin so my RE switched me. It worked great for me. On clomid I had 2 follies. On letrozole I had 6! I didn't get a BFP but it was bc my progesterone was too low. I liked it much better than clomid-no side effects at all. Good luck to you!

I was late in getting period and had short stature( treated with protropin) also have madelungs deformity. the person above is right. if no period ever, get checked. certain things are time sensitive. 1190279 tn?1324936257 Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.
Avatar m tn We are glad you are on to maintenance therapy for your previous cancer! Typically, letrozole does have a favorable side effect profile in relation to toxicity. This doesn't mean it is side effect free, however. The trade off is that it does appear affective in terms of prolonging recurrence.

Avatar n tn Suggest replacing his milk with Pediasure, milkshakes (milk and ice cream blended), or yogurt smoothies (yogurt, ice cream, or frozen fruit-if he accepts it- blended) for additional calories and protein for weight gain. Hoped this helped.

Avatar f tn Hi. The Sjogren Syndrome-like symptoms you have been experiencing are not the direct result of Tamoxifen (the symptoms are not an immune reaction to the drug), but due to the decreased circulating levels of estrogen induced by Tamoxifen intake. This implies that the symptoms you are feeling are not permanent, and should improve when you stop taking Tamoxifen. To answer your question: yes, long term use of Tamoxifen seems to indirectly cause Sjogren-like symptoms, by decreasing estrogen levels.
551885 tn?1300383822 watched what he is doing already he said to go baby proof our house ASAP cause he is WAY early with everything he is doing. This may actually be attributed to his short stature since he can balance better and get around easier. But all in all he is very healthy and that is all we really care about :) I like that he is doing all this stuff but I really want him to stay a baby for as long as he can. I am exhausted as it is now and he is just starting to crawl...
6889053 tn?1386025503 Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?

Avatar f tn There is something that runs in the women of my family. I only know as far back as my great great grandmother, who had red hair and short stature(about 5'2). My grandmother is just slightly taller, with red hair and a very gradual weight gain. My mother is 5'3, red hair, she has started to gain weight and she has a hypothyroid problem. Like my mom who suffered from cold hands and feet all her life I also suffer from it, which is a symptom of hypothyroid.
