Surgical excision is the only remedy I am familiar with for that. If occurring due to a particular medication or frequent pot use, cessation of that agent may possibly reduce it (at least reduce the tenderness part).

I had been using clomid, but my lining is very thin so my RE switched me. It worked great for me. On clomid I had 2 follies. On letrozole I had 6! I didn't get a BFP but it was bc my progesterone was too low. I liked it much better than clomid-no side effects at all. Good luck to you!

Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.

Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?

If you truly have gynecomastia then the only thing that will help is surgery. My son had gynecomastia and he had surgery and looks great. If this is going to mess with your life, then have the surgery!

I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march.The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.

I have had this problem for about 6 months and I am wondering whether it is a side effect of the drugs i used to take for my epilepsy - Tegretol Retard and Epilim Chrono. I took them for about 3 years and have been free of them for about 3 years also. Is this Gynecomastia, cancer or another syndrome and will it disappear soon enough. I don't understand your question .... if you mean the difference between Femara and Letrozole .... if you mean the difference between the two names there isn't any. Letrozole is the Generic Name for Femara. Regards ....

Your future wife should love you for who you are! not because you have gynecomastia. Only surgery will work!! It won't effect you from having sex or children.

i did use Letrozole for 6 cycles...but no BFP...there were no side effects either....just got cramps during those entire cycles...i know 2 of my patients who used d same...one of them who had PCOD concieved with timed intercourse n letroz...d other who had endo like me didn't...however she got preggo by ICSI...Letroz is now banned in several countries but here in India its widely used....

Hello! I am 25 year old male who looks like 15-17. I've had gynecomastia since i was 15 and also havent grown since that age. Tbh my body havent really changed at all. My bones didnt grow larger or increase of muscles though i trained alot and went through a mandatory 2 years of national service. I still look very young and feel very depressed because of this.I researched about this online and found about hypogonadism. Is that the case or am i suffering from something else? Thank you!

Yes, since you smoke and you are overweight you are in high risk for ED (among other much more serious conditions). But gynecomastia may indicate a hormonal disorder, so you have to wait and see the results. In some cases no apparent cause can be identified. If you need a lifetime fix or not depends on the exact nature of the cause of your symptoms. So, again you have to wait for the results of the test.

Also it seems it have a lump (i dont know realy how to tell if its a lump o no i just know its harder than fat) that is bigger on the right side.I wanted to mention that i have smoked for about 3 to 4 year ago(it may be a cause)...now its 8 month i quit.. I am a 26 year old male that suffers from Gynecomastia. I have had this issue pretty much all my life but I am sick of trying to hide it. I am not overweight infact I regulary excersize and go to the gym but nothing seems to work. Its not because of any prescription drugs because my brother suffers from it also. 5 mg capsule every other day for 5 years and I am very pleased with the results. When I developed gynecomastia (which is minor and I ignore) I lowered the dose of AVODART to one twice a week which is 8/month (from 15/month). AVODART has a long half life. Will 8/month still work? I wrote to GLaxo who make Avodart and they said what you said "ask your physician". My physician is very busy and I don't want to waste his time.
