OK, I have irregular cycles and I also have PCOS, my ob said for my husband and I to. Start trying to conceive, my ob upped my dosage of Metformin to 2, 500mg a day and to stop taking my birth control. He said if I don't have a period within 35 days come back, well its been two days on Metformin and I have already started, but I was wondering how long do I have to take this before I can get Clomid?

I am on second cycle now and had my MC on CD27 with pre-menstrual discharge on CD26. It lasted for 4days only , so how do i get to know if I actually ovulated or not ? I used OPKs on CD 10 and CD11 both in the evenings but got very faint line so cant even depend on that to know what happening in my body?

Has anyone ever used Letrozole? Was it beneficial? Did you get a BFP? Any side effects?

Gave me symptoms. I am now on letrozole. Also experiencing symptoms. Will letrozole keep this cancer away. Is there a smaller does than 2.5 of letrozole that I can take.

Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.

I most likely will have to get a higher dosage and I am really afraid of the symptoms than. I have to see my dr in a few weeks but I am not sure I can make it that long. What meds are you going to take if you dont like clomid? I feel like this is just the price to pay if you want to get pregnate. it *****! thanks for your help.

I had a follow up with the RE today and she is gonna put me on 7.5 mg Letrozole from cd 3-7 with ovidrel and monitoring. my ins dont cover the monitoring so i didnt do it with the clomid cycle but this time around i want to so i have to pay $650 up front... alot of money but i really want to make sure they can see whether or not im gonna respond to the letrozole.

Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?

I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march.The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.

Hello, I have been reading varoius posts for sum time now. I was just recently diagnosed with hypothyroid. I'm 28 years old and very active in bodybuilding. My TSH level was at 8.24 I'm not sure if that is really high or not. All I know is I was feeling horrible tired all the TIME, Very cold, puffy eyes, VERY BAD ANXIETY is this normal? as well as loss of hair, yellowish skin, brittle ugly nails. The doctor put me on synthroid .5mg, it has been 5 days.

Femara works on a different hormone then Clomid and is not suppose to have any of those side effects. I did 4 cycles of Clomid on the lowest dosage and 1 of Femara on the lowest dosage. The Clomid did dry up what little CM I did have and made me a little moody. I didn't notice any of that with the Femara.

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. I tried clomid as well a couple of years ago, with very similar side effects as you describe. The fertility specialist I am seeing now put me on Letrozole. Letrozole is actually a drug used for women with breast cancer. One of the 'side effects' is that it stimulates ovulation. Of course the dose you take for fertility purposes is much lower compared to taking it for breast cancer. I did a little research on my own and found that Letrozole is actually much safer than clomid.

PCOS problem... Took letrozole and injectibles and had 3 IUIs done in Dec2010, Jan 2011 and April 2011... all BFNs... took a 4 month break from meds... started TTC journey again in Dec 2011.. Lezra 2.5mg days 2-6, Gonal F 75IU on CD 7-9.. U/S on Day 11 showed leading fllicle size as 11mm.. upped Gonal F to 150IU on Days 11 & 12... CD 13... No growth at all.. leading follicle size was 12mm... cycle bust!! Jan 2012 ... repeated meds.. Femara 5mg. CD 2-6, Gonal F 75IU on CDs 7-9.. U/s Day 11..
