lescol

428155 tn?1203688894 I was on Lescol for cholesterol control but decided to try just losing weight. I lost 50+ pounds by eating smaller, more frequent meals and eating low fat. (No fried foods, limited meats, went to low-fat cheeses, cottage and low-fat frozen ice creams and yogurt.) It worked. My cholesterol and blood pressure dropped into the normal range and I got off the Lescol and BP meds. Have kept up the same way of eating and have maintained my weight loss with little effor. Might want to try it.
Avatar n tn I started with Lescol , then lipitor and now Crestor. The reason for these changes was to try to find a product that does not cause so much muscle cramps. This I decided I had enough. Craps in leg and foot musles have become unbearable. Can you suggest a remidy to avoid incresing my chol level again.
513280 tn?1211450879 Just introducing myself, SL made me join up here, my arm still hurts from her twisting it! Only kidding. . I have MS and was dx'd in about 5 years ago. I'm here to meet all of you nice folks! SL has told me so much about you! I don't know my way around the site yet, and might need your help, but I'm glad to be here. Looking forward to meeting you all, Andy p.s. SL is typing this and it will never be this good again - LOL!
Avatar n tn Thanks for your reply. He has been on (5) Vytorin, Lipitor, Lescol, Baycol and Crestor. I know that he had great success lowering his Cholesterol with at least 2 or 3 of these agents, but he has suffered terribly each time with very acute muscle pains that are virtually non-stop. The pain resolves gradually over weeks as he stops taking the medications. And his test results (CPK, etc.) improve as well. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn Hi all, I'm not going to drag out my life story here. I have been having MS type symptoms for well over a year now with no diagnosis- oh, except its psychological. Funny, we've learned things that help control "it" and trigger "it" but seeing a shrink did not help. I had every test in the book done about 15 months ago....MRI's, blood work, LP with no answers I just had a question if any one has had the MBP blood test? A dr.
Avatar f tn You go, girl, and enjoy God's creation, and your wonderful hubby!
Avatar n tn A year ago, my doctor gave me Lescol/Fluvastatin to take because I am a high risk for heart disease due to genetics and diabetes. At that time my Lipids were within normal range. After a month, ALT/AST results were very elevated. and medication was discontinued. Since then, I've gone through ultrasound, HiDa Scan and finally diagnose of fatty liver. The Gastroenterologist recommended Liver Biopsy to check for liver damage.

None of them were significantly out of range. I am currently recoverying for the thoracic surgery on T7-8 that was done at Cleveland Clinic. My other neurologist still think something else is wrong. Next month, they plan to look at a mitochondrial disease. The symptoms seem very similar.

Avatar n tn The same enzyme also is responsible for the metabolism of phenytoin (Dilantin), tamoxifen (Nolvadex), tolbutamide (Orinase), torsemide (Demadex), and fluvastatin (Lescol). Although important interactions between clopidogrel and these drugs are unlikely, interactions should be looked for carefully. You should consult your doctor to insure the degree of blood thinning is within specification with INR.
198419 tn?1360242356 Hmm...as someone who did her postdoc work in Immunology and Allergy, hives are considered a Major allergic reaction. Your doc needs to know ASAP. Other causes of hives are many, but an infection is most common, at least in kids (especially strep throat, vaginal yeast infection, sinus infection, some viral infections - esp. Hepatits) But, the proplem with hives is, if they signal an allergic reaction to the drug, the next time they might not be just hives.
