Leg pain pms

Common Questions and Answers about Leg pain pms

pain

I dont get pms very often.. only every couple of months.. but when i do get it its really intense. Instead of cramps in my stomach like everybody else, i get them in my legs.. the backs of my thighs and calves and even all the way down to the soles of my feet.. usually both legs at a time but one is always worse than the other. sometimes its even in my hips and bum.. I'm the only person i know who gets these kinds of cramps and no one believes that they're menstrual..
I'm hoping that someone out there may be able to give me some pointers on what to do next or share similar experiences with me... 4yrs ago I stopped taking Depo Provera injections as I was admitted to hospital 3 times with suspected thrombosis; on the 3rd visit a vein in my leg had "popped out" and had to be surgically removed.
Everyone is different but they always say better safe than sorry. Keep me posted on how it goes!! It does seem odd that you would only get it around PMS time, so I recommend that you get checked.....
I press my finger into my lower leg or shin area and the endention stays in my leg for quite a few seconds after I press on my leg. I wish my doc appt would hurry up and get here... still 6 more days to go..
says normal PMS put me on BC for one year. 2 years later pain getting more intense in right leg, heavy bleeding, lots of clotting..didnt think much. 1 week ago..back to neurosurgeon, back pain extremely worse and more frequent. MRI done. no change in herniation, but says pain is coming from something else and noted the following on my MRI "several large cystic lesions with septation. further analysis required". so he says go see my ob/gyn. cant get in for a few weeks.
I haven't had any pms symptom since I started progesterone cream about 6 years ago. It also helps to balance the thyroid. It must be either USP grade or bioidentical.
I think I started noticing it before mensus about 5 or 6 years ago. As for getting the leg pain but not your period can happen too. I got the leg pain in July as normal a couple of wks before mensus was supposed to start and low and behold, went to the dr. for my yearly pap and was told a week later that I was pregnant.

It could also be a combo of your period coming and aggravating the back situation. A chiropractor will tell you that leg pain, back pain etc., can all flare up during times of hormonal changes and stress. The fact is, it's getting better and you'll likely find that the PMS symptoms are either an impending period or will go away as the hormones settle down again.
I have tingling in my lower left leg and left hand, pain in my left eye, and a disconnected -almost drunk - feeling - somewhat off balance. I have no muscle weakness, no loss of vision... but I can't stop obsessing over the fact that my symptoms seems indicative of ms. Any thoughts on where I should go from here? Thanks very much.
I am having the surgery in July and have suffered for 2 yrs. and yes the pain is really bad, like a burning in my butt and down the leg w/PMS. I cannot sit either. I went on the pill: Seasonale so I don't suffer but ev. 3 mos. and that helps a lot. Let me know if you want to know more.
It's about using everything together so that each one will put a tiny dent in the pain to bring it to about a 5 or so on the pain scale. That is what most PMs shoot for with chronic pain. Relying soley on an opiate or medication is only going to increase one's tolerance to that medication very quickly. I've been in PM for 11 years now and have had many fusion surgeries, knee surgeries, foot surgery, lap surgeries, and a brain tumor. So..I can empathize... Hopefully you find a Dr. who you like.
I want to know why all Doctors think that if they help keep you from suffering from chronic pain by giving prescription drugs such as Vicodin or other narcotic pain relievers, they think you automatically become addicted to them. Not everyone has addictive tendencies. I had taken Vicodin for 3 years straight before moving out of town away from my understanding and sympathetic doctor whom, after numerous tests on me realized the serious problems with my spine.
Sometimes it feels like I have an upset stomach, but then other times it feels like cramps, but they don't hurt like PMS cramps. When I had PMS cramps it hurt also in my vaginal area and this doesn't hurt there. I don't know if this is normal or if this is something to worry over. When you are this far along do you experience pains when your stomach is stretching? Any advice will help!

This happens from 14 day of cylce until a few days b4 my period. PMS is a laugh compared to this. Something I do not understand, I take hydromorphone/dilaudid a very strong pain killer for a vascular problem. It doesnt eventouch, not even a touch of relief. What is this. The 'pancreatitis' pain has now resolved but my original pain remains. I can now relate some of the pain to after meals but that pain usually occurs on the right side. The left sided pain is ALWAYS there. It gets bad and then eases up but is always there. I do become nauseated at times but I am not vomiting. I lost 10 pounds in the hospital but put 6 back on. No further weight loss has been noted. My GI physician is stumped.
