I swear so far my leg cramping has been the worst part of being pregnant. The pain starts up in my thigh, and even with the stretching thing I can't make it go away. Its seriously the worst pain ever. Can't walk on it, can't even lie down without the pain cutting through me. I've tried several things, cold/warm compress, massage, but nothing seems to make it go away until its good and ready. For the most part the pain remains in my thigh, but once in a while switches to my knee.

No one really knows why women have more leg cramps when they're pregnant. It's possible that your leg muscles are tired from carrying around all of your extra weight. Or they may be aggravated by the pressure your expanding uterus puts on the blood vessels that return blood from your legs to your heart and the nerves that lead from your trunk to your legs. You may have heard that having leg cramps is a sign that you need more calcium, and that calcium supplements will relieve the problem.
I had the leg cramping and back pain and just found out I am preggers.
So I have been awake since 145 (10 hours now) this morning due to leg cramps which started last night that were so persistant nothing would take them away.. Long story short after taking baths, using a heating pad, massaging, whining, taking tylonol and stretching with nothing even touch the pain I ended up in ER for a leg ultrasound to rule out blood clot and blood work to be sure calcium and potassium were ok.

Then I was experiencing pain in just my left leg. The pain was coming from behind my leg just above my knee. I assumed it was because I pulled a muscle. I notice it mostly when I get up from sitting at my desk for a while or walking for long periods of time. Sometimes it doesn't hurt at all. Here recently I've been feeling the pain go down to my calf. It almost feels like I have a charley horse in my calf.

The pain switches legs and the pain radiates to my ankle and leg its not real severe pain but its enough to bother and worry me. Sometimes it makes my foot feels tingly like its not getting good circulation. I was worried about blood clots because Im on birth control have been since 2007 and I take b12. I just read on a website that b12 can cause blood clots as a side effect but their is no reddness or swelling and the pain isent severe and it alternated between legs.
It relaxes your muscles and helps your blood to clot appropriately. This is a useful mineral if you suffer from leg cramps. Studies show that magnesium levels are lower in women who have had a premature labour. Furthermore, because it has a good effect on muscles, it can help to prevent premature contractions by relaxing the muscles of the womb.

LOL That kind of exercise, as I have learned the hard way, is that I can no longer do it without severe pain. If you only have these cramps when you point your toes, I would not take a supplement. If you find that you feet cramp up for no reason, that I would do as Quix suggests.
I am convinced it has something to do with my central nervous system. If I get stomach cramps the pain will also begin in my right leg. I never get the pain in my left leg, but will get it in both arms. After drinking alcohol, the next day I will be doubled over in pain, not like a hangover, but debilitating pain, to the point where all I can do is lay around and cry. For the record I rarely drink. Sometimes even if I haven't had alcohol the pain will be so bad that nothing can relieve it.
and the funny thing about it was that she has been complaining about her legs lately. She doe snot want to walk anywhere..what does leg pain have to do with stomach problems?
it gets so severe that i cant sit or even walk. i usually dont get stomach cramps, but it it is accompanied by back pain, weakness and fatigue. i am glad to know that there are other people that have the same symptoms....i dont feel as strange because none of my other friends can relate to the symtoms i have. i have no idea why it occurs, but i have found that when i exercise i have minimal to no pain. i guess the tissues are perfusing with circulation and lessens the pain.
I have leg pain only when in bed at night and usually just in my right leg. Sometimes have low back pain also with this.
I have pretty consistent pain in my rght side, I call them my labor pains. Resently, I have been getting cramps like what you get in your calfs if you don't drink enough liquid. What could be the cause of this?
For the last few days I have been having this horrible pain in my lower stomach on the right side almost right where my ovary would be, it goes into my back and down my leg. My husband and I had unprotected sex the begining of July but I did get my period on July 14th. I dont think I'm pregnant but whenever I get pains in my lower belly and recently had sex "ectopic pregnancy" is always in the back of my mind. If this goes on much longer I am going to have to call the dr.
Hello! I have had an extensive workup for stomach pain 2 months ago. Had my gallbladder removed in 1999. My pancreas/stomach CT scan was negative. Gastric emptying scan showed slightly slow motility. Upper GI showed some "narrowing" of the pylorus, but no other pathology. I have been on prilosec BID for 3 years, for GERD, and lipitor for cholesterol.
Could midback cramps be caused by possible kidney stones. A week ago I got my long back muscles below the ribs cramped. When I tightened my abdominal muscles, I got pain in my back. The back has been weird since that. Today in the morning I again got cramps. First slight cramping in the back, then bad cramps in my legs. When I took a warm shower, I found that the back muscles were in tight cramp. Addituonally, I had some symptom in my upper abdomen. My intestines were contracting very quikly.
At the moment my prescription is 4 200mg Ibuprofen every 3-4 hours when the cramps start. Could it be something besides just cramps? I am 21, not sexually active(ever), Pap smear came back normal(6 months ago), pelvic exam was normal, menstruation starts for about 3 days then stops for a day or so then starts again for another 3 days. I am afraid that if I keep taking that much Ibuprofen that I am going to develop stomach ulcers.
every time I have a sharp pain for most likely less than a minute (for me it feels like a sharp pain on the bottom side of the heart...) it always goes away completely back to normal instantly. If your heart or something is hurting long enough to have to sleep on one side.. I'd get that checked out. Well not sure what else to say other than I'm glad I found this site and I'm glad there's other people having the same symptoms/worries as me...
My stomach stays bloated, I have horrible cramping and my stomach is as hard as a brick... The strange thing is that most of my pain is up high... I do have low cramps that generate around to my back but the bad, bad pain is right in the middle up high... I had my gallbladder out a few years ago... I take stool softeners, laxatives, and enemas... I've tried drinking that other stuff but I just throw it back up...
