laser

Avatar f tn Now if you already had a narrow angle glaucoma attack and had the laser iridotomy to help break the attack - then the laser can be very helpful in breaking the attack and helping to lower the iop. Generally, for the usual protective laser iridotomy I tell patients that they won't see better, won't feel better, and pressure probably won't be better BUT they will be protected from an angle closure attack.
Avatar m tn occludable angles means the part of the eye where the fluid drains out (angle) between the iris and the cornea is narrow due to being a short eye (far-sighted) and that the iris could block the flow out of the eye causing an acute or subacute or recurrent attack of angle closure glaucoma. To prevent this from happening if Eye MD ophthalmologists see it they use a laser iridotomy (hole in the iris) to prevent the attack from developing.
Avatar f tn I had laser surgery for narrow angle glaucoma a few years ago. I am wondering if it is okay for me to take a mild sleeping aid, and pain medications.
Avatar f tn Its Better to have Laser and make your review as suggested by your Ophthalmologist , No need to be panic , if you have regular follow up with your ophthalmologist as he suggested it can be taken care .
Avatar f tn The first can cause an attack of angle closure and needs a laser iridotomiy. The latter just needs to be observed to be sure it does not morph into occludable.
Avatar m tn Moreover if a person is known to have angle closure the ophthalmologist would treat them with laser iridotomies then those meds would be okay.
Avatar n tn Facial spider veins can be tricky to remove because facial vein treatments are often limited to Laser Vein Removal, since Sclerotherapy and vein removal surgery can leave permanent scarring. Laser Vein Removal has become the preferred method of getting rid of spider veins. Facial spider veins in particular were once difficult to treat, but lasers and IPL have made it effortless.
Avatar f tn Is it a good idea to get laser vein removal done to my upper eyelids to remove dilated blood vessels?
Avatar n tn A patient with spider veins in the face will usually choose to have laser therapy rather than sclerotherapy. Laser treatment may cause minor bruising that usually improves within a week. Two to four treatments may be required to achieve your desired result. Laser energy causes your spider veins to coagulate and shrink. It is most effective for small and medium size spider veins. Large spider veins respond poorly and are best treated with sclerotherapy.
Avatar m tn Both say its nothing urgent, since it down and not up. One of them says it can and should be treated with laser, another one says laser will not work, we should let it heal on its own, but if it progresses, go to surgery. Its been 6 months now since injury, so if it didn't heal by now, is there still a chance it will heal in the future? How long it takes in average to heal, if it heals? Should i wait or proceed with laser? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Dear ed34 Thanks so much for your quick answer. No, angioplasty has not been mentioned. Are there different methods of angioplasty? I am not even sure it would be possible afterall, it also depends on the native arteries' condition. Can I suppose the cardiologist would had mentioned it, if it was possible? His native veins are blocked to some extent, we were told, however, the blood pressure is higher than in the graft.
Avatar n tn s order for a good closure...Keep in mind closure is a relative term in this kind of surgery.I would think if the gas is re-absorbed additional closure would seem doubtful. GL.
Avatar n tn html However for spider veins on the nose the treatment of choice would be Laser vein removal.Facial spider veins in particular were once difficult to treat, but lasers and IPL have made it effortless. Laser spider vein removal has become the leading treatment for spider veins because of its versatility and ease with eliminating smaller and medium sized spider veins. ref:http://www.veintreatmentforum.com/vein-conditions.cfm?
Avatar f tn In this procedure with the help of a needle a liquid chemical is injected into the vein. This causes swelling in vein and collapsing .This stops the flow of blood, and the vein turns into scar tissue. This procedure can be done without general anesthesia and does not lead to inference in the daily activities. Laser techniques can help in curing small varicose veins. Discuss these possibilities with your doctor. Take care and regards!
Avatar n tn Hi, Needless to remind you that you need to talk to your doctor, a cardiologist. If the varicose vein is in the legs, I understand that laser treatment is possible. Please google for ' laser treatment for varicose veins ' for more details.
Avatar n tn Dr. Hagan, Thank you for this information. I have had open angle normal pressure Glaucoma for 12 years, and did not know this. I have always been afraid of taking cold medicines.
Avatar f tn There are different types of glaucoma Azopt and timolol are for open angle glaucoma; laser iridotomy is for angle closure glaucoma. You can have both and its called "combined mechanism glaucoma" in that case the laser iridotomy is appropriate. Hopefully you are seeing an eye MD ophthalmoloigst. If you have any doubts you can always ask for a second opinion from another glaucoma specialist. angle closure glaucoma is more common in hyperopic or farsighted eyes.
Avatar n tn Hello, There are 5 types of laser hair removal systems. These include pulsed light, Nd YAG laser, diode laser. Alexanderite laser and ruby laser. This depends on the skin type and varies from patient to patient. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist for the skin type and then depending on that, laser hair removal can be decided.
Avatar f tn you angle needs to be very carefully checked, undilated with an instrument called a gonioscope. If your angles are narrow enough to be occludeable you need laser peripheral iridectomies. If are narrow but not occludable need to have that watched closely as we age the angle narrows due to lens getting larger in diameter. You can have an attack of angle closure without severe pain, without halos.
Avatar f tn laser peripheral iridotomy is done in eyes that are abnormally short (farsighted) where the potential exists for the peripheral iris to block fluid leaving the front of the eye causing either acute glaucoma, chronic angle closure or intermittent angle closure. It's generally a simple procedure. I did one Wednesday took about 5 minutes. This problem is extremely common in Asians and Eskamoes.
Avatar n tn I suspect you may have diabetic related bleeding or perhaps a branch or central retinal vein occlusion - just guessing. The laser is fairly easily performed and generally safe and without it you coulf face much worse loss of vision. Make sure you are seeing a retinal specialist ophthalmologist.
274158 tn?1276347187 ll never be able to see properly out of that eye. The doctor wants to do laser surgery on the other eye to prevent further damage. She is scheduled for that next week. I was wondering if that will help her blurry vision or not? I couldn't really ask the doctor- they are so busy, they are the only specialists in my area. I know it will prevent further damage. Will the procedure hurt, is this a hereditary thing? Do I have a chance of getting it?
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with central vein occlusion and have macular edema. I have been advised to have an injection in my eye of Avastin. What is your opinion? The occlusion happened about 41/2 months ago and my vision got a little better but a couple of months ago got worse again.
