Avatar m tn I recently had cataract surgery two months ago and went back to my doctor to check things out. i knew I had some scar tissue that had developed, and my surgeron said not to worry about it and scheduled me to come back in March of 2009. He said it would probably get worse and in March he would "break it up." Everything else turned out fine and I can see much better. i just resigned myself that I have to put up with scar tissue for 5 months in order to have better sight.
Avatar n tn Hi, I had cataract surgery in August 09. because of bleeding it became an emergency case. The retina became detached. With laser it was re-attached. after a month the retina was cracked ' With more surgery to fix that with laser. Now I am blind in the one eye because of scar tissue in the center of the retina I can see my hand in front of my eye but not clearly because a new lense has not been inserted.
Avatar n tn The surgeon also had to remove a lot of scar tissue during the surgery. The months later, the scar tissue grew back. One surgeon in the group recommended another surgery to removed the scar tissue. A 2nd surgeon in the same group advised against it. He said the retina could detach, which would result in me having to start all over again with the oil, the wait time, the air, the wait time. The 2nd doctor of the same group said the Scar Tissue was very aggressive and I had a lot of it..
1556305 tn?1517781229 m aware scar tissue can still form. One way of helping stop scar tissue is the application of radiation. A radioactive substance on the end of the catheter wire is held in the area for a period of time, damaging the dna of the cells so they can't reproduce so quickly.
Avatar m tn had retina detachments in both eyes - left eye had 3 detachments 5 operations leaving me with 2400 vision - right eye has one detachment repaired 2+ years ago - now have scar tissue in that eye from cataract surgery which accompanied my retina surgery.
Avatar f tn My husband is hoping to have his surgery there this month for stenosis, degenerative disks, and scar tissue problems from a laminectomy in 2000.
Avatar m tn ve had a series of surgeries (buckle, gas bubble, silicone oil, laser, etc.). I developed a cataract and some scar tissue due to the multiple surgeries. The scar tissue that was on the retina has some how detached and is now floating around in my eye. My surgeon has suggested that we remove the cataract and suction out the scar tissue at the same time. Will this cause the retina to detach again? WIll the scar tissue floating around cause an issue?
Avatar f tn m just quit anxious about my appointment and I wad also wondering if the optometrist can do laser surgery and if I do have laser surgery how long would it take to build scar tissue and would it be safe to go on rides?

Avatar f tn Hi there. I don’t think that laser surgery could remove the scar tissue of the sciatic nerve. you need to consult a neurosurgeon for correct and updated information on this. Tae care.
Avatar m tn What are my options here? Are fraxel or laser a possiblity to smooth this protuding scar or will this need surgery?
Avatar f tn Does anyone know of ways to get rid of the tissue or any natural therapies that will at least make it possible to have sex without extreme pain? Anyone have experience in scar tissue removal surgery? This issue makes me very sad and concerned I will never have an enjoyable sex life. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Avatar n tn t think they like to put people through too much major surgery for obvious reasons. It sounds as though scar tissue formed inside the stent, making me wonder if it was a bare metal stent rather than a drug eluting one. There are plenty of options to open that stent, and if your husbands quality of life is poor, they need to offer something. If they do not, I would go to a hospital where they have greater experience in stenting.
Avatar n tn said younger patients usually have isssues with scar tissue. Is there a way to slow the scar tissue `- maybe with drugs?
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a mole on my face and I did a mole excursion, a small brown spot grew back, and I did a mole laser removal surgery to get it remove. However after the laser removal surgery, my mole is not disorted and grown, it doesn't seem to be a tissue scar cause it is dark brown and a raiser lump has occurred. Is this an indication of something? Can I get mole removal again using laser or excision or it would keep coming back? Thanks!
Avatar m tn You could seek out the expertise of a very skilled retinal surgeon, who should be able to remove the scar tissue. However, the surgery may pose more risks than gains. Depending on the extent of the scar tissue having surgery may either cause another RD or you could suffer nerve damage. At this point if the retina is attached from an anatomical standpoint your case is considered a success.

Avatar m tn Upon the dilated exam the new doctor said he saw the scar tissue from the previous repair and it looked like a tear with the scar tissue surrounding it. The new doctor said he did not know if it was something new or just from the previous laser repairs. I have an appt. with my retinal surgeon tomorrow. My question is how do they actually repair retinal tears with lasers? Do they laser the actual hole or just around it? Does the laser repairs impair ones vision?
Avatar n tn After aproximately 18 days after the accident my lip was healed farely well. A small scar and some hard scar tissue was all that remained. A couple of days later my lip became swollen next to the exterior scar. this is not scar tissue this is softer. I have had scar tissue on my lips and can tell the difference. This swollenness has been apparent for 4 days. What could this be? Thank you.
Avatar f tn and the doctor had to clean out a lot of scar tissue. 3 months after the 2nd surgery, the scar tissue is back in a very aggressive manner. The surgeon recommended another surgery to remove the scar tissue; a 2nd opinion doctor cautioned against it due to the scar tissue being so aggressive. He said the retina could detach again and I would have to start all over again, which has been such a long process.
Avatar n tn Hello, I had cataract surgery in Feb. All went well, but I have delvoloped scar tissue. It was worse in my right eye, the doctor suggested laser. We did that last tuesday, it made it worse than before. What can be done to correct it, if anything? I have a feeling he will want to put me in glasses. What are my rights? Will it be my responsibilty for payment to correct it. I have an appointment tomorrow for the other eye. I will refuse to have the laser if this is all i can expect.
