Avatar n tn I am interested in laser removal of spider veins on my nose. Does anybody have any experience with this procedure? Does it work well or is it on par with other techniques which are terrible such as nose jobs, face lifts, breast implants, lipo suction?
Avatar m tn the doctor said that i need to have a laser operation of my nose in which he was going to burn my inferior turbinate to open the opening of the nostril so that my sinus drains properly.. my mom wanted to consult another doctor when the nose congestion started and the dizziness started . the other doctor said the same as the first doctor but he said there was no need of an operation . he gave me a nasal spray (Flixorase) and an anti allergy..
Avatar f tn , I am a 30 yr old female and I just had shingles about 2 months ago which left unsightly scars on my right, lower leg. I was wondering... can laser surgery help remove those scars? And if so, how soon can I start laser skin treatment? I have very pale white skin and would like the scars to be removed without my skin pigmentation changing. Do you also know how much they usually cost? Thank you so much.
Avatar m tn He performed surgery on my nose with a laser to clear the blockage caused by the deviated septum. After I healed from the surgery, I could breathe slightly better, but I still suffered from blockage caused by swollen turbinates. I went back to the doctor and he basically told me that he had done everything he could and that I shouldn't have used so much cocaine.
Avatar f tn can basal cell carcenoma be life threatening? My daughter has a basal cell carcenoma on her nose and the mohs surgeon said that if he has to go in more than once, she'll need a "flap" or skin graft from her ear. I understand that if the basal cell is on the head, it could eventually grow deep and reach the brain (that's what I was told when I had mine removed from my head) therefore, I had the surgery.
Avatar f tn My DD was born a month ago with a small mark on her nose tip. More alarmingly, though, was the shape of her nose- the nose tip looks like a huge bulb, which sounds like a compound hemangioma (my older DD also has hemangiomas, so I know by the look that this is probably what my younger DD has). Is there anyone out there with experience with a nose tip hemangioma? Did you get it lasered? At what age does it get worse? Did anyone get surgery for their child?
Avatar m tn Other than that, surgery can be opted for. Surgery can be performed using a scalpel, laser, cryosurgery, electrosurgery, or dermabrasion. But the problem may recur after treatment. Rhinophyma is considered an advanced stage of rosacea and even if diagnosis of rosacea is confirmed by your dermatologist, there are treatment options to limit rosacea.
Avatar f tn Dr said they need to do a small surgery with Laser technique for opening is tongue tie. Any one else did this laser surgery? Any side effects or any negative thing abt this laser technique? Is is succesfull?
Avatar m tn Folks I am considering laser surgery. I have astigmatism. Is it the right thing to do and also which method is best? Any suggestion is most welcomed.

1539436 tn?1292869871 I got very excited about the idea but before i take a step, could you please advice me if my age is the ryt age to get a laser eye surgery, as my aunt warned me of my age to be very young. she advised me to be atleast 24+.
Avatar f tn No questins here. I just had Laser surgery yesterday, performed by Dr. Vosoghi. I have been in his care for approximately one month and could not be more impressed. Demeanor is professional, chairsidemanner so kind, highly educated and knowledgable, and I do not think I could be in beter hands. If you need a specialist, and you are within traveling distance of his offices, I highly recommend him.
Avatar f tn these flashes are not bright(((little little bright..transparent,ceiling fan type, circulating type but stay at one point only..right eye near by my temple and nose side))) but less observed in artificial light( tube light) more in sunlight .and also can be observed in dark room when coming from bright room to dark room..it's like something little bright air moving in corner of eye..these are not much bright.
Avatar n tn There appears to be more research on scar revision surgery drugs that could improve the prospects of surgery.. In one article I read botox helps to diminish scar formation after revision, as it paralizes the muscles, making sure body motion does not affect the healing process. Another drug, avotermin might be of use in the future.. (there are several links with info about this drug if you google it) http://www.upi.
Avatar m tn optholomogist have said the Laser surgery has worked and angles are no longer as narrow and pressure has dropped to 10..Does this sort of laser stop an Acute angle atack?.
Avatar f tn The reason I also think that it is Endo is because most likely your surgery was not done by an Endo specialist and they most likely did ablation (laser removal) not excision (cut out) the difference is night and day and excision is the gold standard of treatment. It takes the disease right from the root where laser only gets the surface. I would suggest seeing an Endo specialist. If you let me know where you are I can guide you to the best one in your area.
Avatar n tn My question is, as I am so shortsighted, is it OK to have the Laser Cataract Surgery? I ask this because the Laser Cataract Surgery is said to be less traumatic to the eye. I wonder if Dr John C Hagan III could answer this question, as I know his son also works in his practice and he is a retinal expert? Also do you fit the New nanoflex IOL?
Avatar f tn The U-shaped tear is also called a Horshoe Tear. If retina doc is recommending laser (aka "barrier laser" to form a barrier of laser around the tear), then I'd do it. Sure, there are risks. Nothing is risk free, but the risk of not treating is much much higher than the risk of doing the procedure. Sincerely, Timothy D. McGarity, M.D.
