Avatar m tn Now I have seen on TV about a dcotor who has developed the sinuplasty where they insert the baloon into the nasal cavity to enlarge the nasal passage that has shrunk and therefore does not allow you to breath. I am going to the doctor who does the surgery in New orleans La. On the 26th april. I will let you know if I am a candidate for that.
Avatar n tn My question is, as I am so shortsighted, is it OK to have the Laser Cataract Surgery? I ask this because the Laser Cataract Surgery is said to be less traumatic to the eye. I wonder if Dr John C Hagan III could answer this question, as I know his son also works in his practice and he is a retinal expert? Also do you fit the New nanoflex IOL?
Avatar f tn Vincent Hospital in Portland, Oregon, and Drs. Richardson and Conway of the New Orleans Oschner Clinic in New Orleans. It IS possible if you at least get through to one of these physician's offices, that someone there could recommend a qualified doc in Texas. The little bit I found out about complications from SMA surgery suggest that your current docs really ought to admit your daughter to the hospital and see if she's got some serious complication going on.
Avatar f tn Which laser surgery are you referring to? Where they laser plaque away from the artery? or where they burn tiny holes in the heart muscle? All procedures carry some risk, but minimal. If the risks were great then the procedure wouldn't be offered because no cardiologist wants to kill you.
572651 tn?1530999357 There was exciting news coming from New Orleans last week at the American Academy of Neurology conference. Here is a brief synopsis of the highlights, taken from an email I received today. Even the ones that aren't MS related make for some good reading. you can find links to all of these stories through their website at http://www.medpagetoday.
Avatar n tn http://www.about-eyes.com/laser-assisted-cataract-surgery-and-risk-of-macular-swelling/ "Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery and Risk of Macular Swelling" His skepticism matches the reports I've seen of large scale studies over the last year or so indicating that laser cataract surgery so far merely has been shown to have different complications than non-laser surgery overall (which are rare in both types), and hasn't proven its benefits overall yet for most patients.
Avatar f tn The femosecond laser is something new that Doctors are using? Has anyone who had cataract surgery had this done on theM? My Doctor says it makes the cut more precise and helps with less trauma to the eye. Any comments welcome.
Avatar n tn My lens prescription before surgery was -.25 sph, +l.50 cyl and 17axis. My new prescription is -1.50sph, +1.00 cyl and 40axis. My sight is brighter and the starbursts around lights while driving are getting less but I definitely feel my vision in this eye is less than before. The doctor didn't tell me why I didn't get better vision. Should I see another doctor or should I wait and see it this resolves itself. I chose the surgery so I wouldn't have to wear glasses.
Avatar f tn There is one private clinic that does femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery using the LenSX femtosecond laser. The other one does not, but it is much more convenient. When I asked my RS about the femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, he basically said that it is the skill of the surgeon that counts in either way of doing cataract surgery. He admitted that it probably is the wave of the future.
Avatar f tn Laser surgery always (or at least almost always) costs extra out of pocket. If nothing else there are usually (perhaps always) "click" fees surgeons need to pay to the vendor for each use of the laser which they are rationally going to pass on to the patient.
