laser

Avatar n tn Yes, I see one 4 times a year for deep cleaning - also had laser surgery 2 years ago. Could the roughness be due to the gum brush and using too much? When I quit smoking, will it go away or reduce substantially? How long will it take? Thank you, again.
Avatar m tn Folks I am considering laser surgery. I have astigmatism. Is it the right thing to do and also which method is best? Any suggestion is most welcomed.

Avatar f tn No questins here. I just had Laser surgery yesterday, performed by Dr. Vosoghi. I have been in his care for approximately one month and could not be more impressed. Demeanor is professional, chairsidemanner so kind, highly educated and knowledgable, and I do not think I could be in beter hands. If you need a specialist, and you are within traveling distance of his offices, I highly recommend him.
Avatar f tn After several different doctors, I was told that I had trigeminal neuralgia as well as a deviated septum. I eventually had laser surgery for the trigeminal neuralgia, but the a facial pain continues. The nerve pain has subsided, but I continue to have facial pain on my left side. The pain seems to get worse if I lean my head to that side. This occurred a few years ago, and after several months of taking seizure medication and lortab, I was not getting any better.
Avatar m tn optholomogist have said the Laser surgery has worked and angles are no longer as narrow and pressure has dropped to 10..Does this sort of laser stop an Acute angle atack?.
Avatar n tn My question is, as I am so shortsighted, is it OK to have the Laser Cataract Surgery? I ask this because the Laser Cataract Surgery is said to be less traumatic to the eye. I wonder if Dr John C Hagan III could answer this question, as I know his son also works in his practice and he is a retinal expert? Also do you fit the New nanoflex IOL?
1090984 tn?1463769850 A post is not uncommon when having a root canal. Did the dentist say you have gingivitis and that's why they want to laser your gums? If you do have gingivitis around that area it would make sense because the gum needs to grow around the crown, which it can't if you have gingivitis, just like your natural tooth. Is this a molar tooth your having the work done on? That could also explain the post because those teeth are so big.
Avatar f tn The U-shaped tear is also called a Horshoe Tear. If retina doc is recommending laser (aka "barrier laser" to form a barrier of laser around the tear), then I'd do it. Sure, there are risks. Nothing is risk free, but the risk of not treating is much much higher than the risk of doing the procedure. Sincerely, Timothy D. McGarity, M.D.
10175753 tn?1408314528 Can a lens put in after cataract surgery be replaced if damaged during laser procedure?
Avatar n tn Time will tell if this is superior to current standard cataract surgery. The femtosecond laser is being used to make the cataract incision into the eye, the capsule opening in the lens (capsulorhexis), and to soften the cataract. Then the phaco/aspiration portion of the lens removal is the same as standard cataract surgery.
Avatar n tn http://www.about-eyes.com/laser-assisted-cataract-surgery-and-risk-of-macular-swelling/ "Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery and Risk of Macular Swelling" His skepticism matches the reports I've seen of large scale studies over the last year or so indicating that laser cataract surgery so far merely has been shown to have different complications than non-laser surgery overall (which are rare in both types), and hasn't proven its benefits overall yet for most patients.
Avatar m tn I will be having cataract surgery and have a choice of with or with-out laser-assisted surgery. Am I likely to have a better outcome using the laser? It will cost more. Thanks!
Avatar m tn One week after laser surgery I started having arc or circle shaped flashes in treated eye. These were not present before surgery. It then increased in frequency for next 2-3 days and now the frequency started decreasing. Can someone explain this phenomenon? and how these flashes developed after surgery?
Avatar m tn What are the risks and advantages of laser coagulation prior to cataract surgery? Can I go for cataract surgery without laser coagulation?
Avatar m tn I have a dense cataract in one eye and I was told that laser-assisted surgery may be better to help "break" it down instead of traditional. I've seen mixed research between the two; however, are there any shown benefits of laser over traditional cataract surgery? As in is it worth to pay out of pocket for it?
Avatar n tn What you are experiencing is one of the side effects of laser surgery. You should follow up your eye doctor with regards to your eye condition and he will give you prescription eye drops to prevent infection, inflammation and to prevent your eyes from drying. Blurry and hazy vision is also normal after a day of your surgery. But eventually, you will notice some improvements within a few days. For now, it is very important to revisit your eye doctor for an evaluation.
Avatar m tn the lower part (or the part near the teeth) of my gums are all dark whereas the rest are pink. I think this has occurred since my childhood and has remained the same since. Can you please advice on how to make them pink again.
Avatar f tn Hi ValveJob, just wanted to comment on your potential cataract surgery. As a fellow myope who's axial lengths are also over 30mm, I've read a lot about the difficulty of cataract surgery for patients like us. I can't remember if I've commented before on this, but wanted to make sure you are aware of the option in cataract surgery between 'traditional' methods of cataract extraction and the 'laser' method.
Avatar n tn My laser treatment - surgery - is planned for January. Has anyone had laser surgery for genital warts removal before? I am worried about the scarring and the recovery part of the surgery. My Dr. said I would be in bed for about 15 days following the surgery, and that it would take about 1 month to heal completely. I've heard about horror stories... bad scarring... tissue sticking together... skin not being the same afterwards, and complicated intercourse following the surgery.
