Avatar n tn I have had continuing problems with acne and cysts on my buttocks area for approximately 15 years. I have seen multiple physicians regarding the condition, however, all have either treated me only with antibiotics or considered it an allergic reaction of some sort, regardless, none of the treatments have worked. Recently I went to a new dermatologist who diagnosed me with Acne Inversa, however, he stated it was curable and prescribed me Accutane.
Avatar m tn Take at least 2 showers a day. If there are cysts or nodules then seeking the opinion of a dermatologist for laser therapy or surgery will be helpful. Take care!

Avatar f tn I think your dermatologist's assessment makes sense. The face doesn't often keloid. Stopping your acne is the best way to stop getting more scars. I don't know about these horror stories, but if you consider laser surgery at all, it won't be till at least 6 months after you complete the course. Best. Dr.
Avatar m tn can u suggest me any medicine/cream to remove the acne scars...i dont want to undergo any lazer or amy plastic surgery...is there is any mean to remove acne scars through effective medicine...
Avatar n tn Last year I stared getting ingrown hairs in my face pretty much out of nowhere. I really did not have acne problems before this began. I have been using duac gel and it reallt has not gotten much better. I have been told that laser treatment would be a great choice. What is the average price range for the laser removal of ingrown hairs? This discussion is related to Infected facial hair follicles (in-grown hairs).
Avatar n tn ll have to live with it for the rest of my life and that the only possible treatment for this is laser. Is all of this accurate? I did finish accutane about 3 months ago which cleared up my acne but all of this redness is just terrible and looks like i still have cystic acne. Now im just totally depressed about this if its true. Is this true that i'll have to look like this for the rest of my life? I thought redness fades with time? does it not?
Avatar n tn It is said that laser can destroy oil glands. Please look into research about the DHT hormone responsible for acne (roaccutane blocks this). I'd say your dose was too low to stop acne but would have little effect on an existing cyst. There are natural DHT blockers. One is called Saw Palmetto. Laser treatment can resurface the skin & get rid of scars. However it would take multiple treatments. A surgeon could also perform Dermabrasion (not to be confused with microdermabrasion).
Avatar f tn Hi!I have suffered from acne for 10 years until i took accutane that cleared my acne(now 21 years old)...Over these years my acne got worse and now i m left with small scars like holes ang huge pores on cheeks, nose and forehead that make me look older. Some of my pores are scared and the overall texture of my skin is bad.Is there any effective treatment and which type of laser would be the best and less risky for my skin condition? Thank you in advance!!
Avatar m tn It can be due to environmental changes, skin trauma, overuse of steroids, acne rosacea or venous hypertension. Laser treatment is the best option for telangiectasia. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn The best way of treating acne scars is to start early. There are some treatments available for this condition. By using topical treatments prescribed by your dermatologists, such as biological acne scarring treatment where in the old, damaged tissues and scars are replaced by new cells. On the other hand, dermabrasion, a cosmetic medical procedure that removes the surface of sun-damaged skin by abrasion and lessen scars and dark spots on the skin.
Avatar f tn I'm booked in for a fraxel laser treatment on my nose cheeks and forehead for large open pores and "ice pick" scarring (or is this the same thing)? Can anyone tell me of their own experiences with this or someone they know maybe??? Was it successful or a total waste of time, money and pain? There is so much info on the internet about this I just want to hear the opinions of some "real" people. I'm getting really nervous about it. Help!!!
Avatar m tn Hi there, Any acne medication takes time to act and it is important to stick to particular regime for significant improvement. You should wash your face with a nonirritating, pH-balanced cleanser to decrease inflammation. Avoid scrubbing the face. Do not pop or pick at pimples. A correct nutritional balance and skin care will be helpful. Drink plenty of water every day. Take 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamin A, zinc and rich in multivitamins.
Avatar m tn Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You have been given the correct treatment for acne and should follow your doctor’s advice. For the hair loss, laser treatment can be used but the diagnosis needs to be made first.
Avatar m tn I have many very noticeable acne scars on my face that have been there for years now. My dermatologist told me that after one or two treatments with the v beam that is would correct this but i've gone for two already and to be honest i see almost no difference at all. ive seen pictures on the internet of people much worse than me and i'm wondering why i havnt seen results yet.
Avatar n tn Humans heal by forming scar tissue. No scar can be totally eliminated, but they can often be reduced by surgery and occasionally by laser treatment. You need to consult with a plastic surgeon to determine the likelihood of success for your particular scar..
Avatar m tn you can try the one i am using.. got acne last jan to june 2013, for first time in my life! I count them daily and the last time I knew there was 63 of it all over my face, so big that my daughter would say eiiw.. I tried different cleansing and creams, common brands from PH but did not work, got worse i think. but now my face is clear, no traces of acne, no blemishes at all. the one im using is imported, has whitening effects too.
Avatar f tn Is there an effective way to treat acne for those with fibromyalgia? My dermatologists have tried quite the variety of treatments for the acne with no success. The acne isn't cystic, but a bit more problematic than mild acne. Also, a sulfa allergy limits that option for treatment. Current regimen includes Azelex (for redness and inflammation) and Tretinoin. I'm curious if there is an effective treatment that takes the fibromyalgia into consideration.
Avatar f tn As a matter of fact, I just found last night the name of a private place in Toronto which does it. I am located in Montreal which is about a 5-hour drive. My husband said he would drive me back and forth if that is what I decide to do, but I first want to speak to my RS of course. The doctors who work there seem to have very good credentials.
Avatar m tn s best for minimizing scars. Not much is out there on post laser surgery proper care. I was not given proper instructions on post treatment procedure which really upsets me. I did not expect blisters. I haven't been able to see the doctor yet. Is it best to keep open blisters moist and prevent scab formation? Thx.
Avatar m tn e surgical/non surgical...wat is the cost of the surgery????plzzz reply me....and give any home remedy for closing/reducing the pores....
Avatar n tn http://www.about-eyes.com/laser-assisted-cataract-surgery-and-risk-of-macular-swelling/ "Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery and Risk of Macular Swelling" His skepticism matches the reports I've seen of large scale studies over the last year or so indicating that laser cataract surgery so far merely has been shown to have different complications than non-laser surgery overall (which are rare in both types), and hasn't proven its benefits overall yet for most patients.
Avatar m tn Hello, It is better to get the dermaroller done first and then go in for laser treatment of telangiectasia. Telangiectasias on the face are often treated with laser. My sincere advice is to consult a cosmetologist and discuss this with him. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.
