Avatar m tn Hi everybody, Would anyone be so kind to share his/her knowledge on how the side effects of topical corticosteroids, namely that of swelling/edema in subcutaneous tissue, as well as dilation of superficial blood vessels(capillaries), develop. I have developed these side effects from usage of two different corticosteroids for different skin problems.
Avatar n tn Hello, Hyper and hypopigmentation are sometimes the undesirable side effects of laser treatment. Topical treatments with acids and chemical peels can be effective but can take a while for the skin to totally revert to its normal color. Microdermabrasion can also be done, but this might require several sessions. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Hello, Laser hair removal is not 100% fullproof and some miniature hair may be left even after multiple laser hair removal sessions. Also it is not without side effects and may cause redness, erythema, hyper or hypopigmentation and sometimes burning and dryness of skin. So discuss all the pros and cons with a dermatologist before getting it done.

Avatar m tn It is effective for all skin types and the most commonly noticed side effects are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, similar to sunburn. These effects typically last for several hours or less. I think that you should discuss it in detail with a dermatologist/cosmetologist to clear any doubts or apprehensions. Avatar f tn I work at the top laser hair removal company in the uk and we don't treat anybody who is pregnant, it's not worth the risk, it can also cause pigmentation because of the hormones x rubbish I know because I was due to get mine but iv just found out in 5 weeks =)

Before going in for laser treatment, we can try chemical peeling also. For that you need to consult a good dermatologist/ cosmetologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Avatar n tn The treatment includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. But they have plenty of side effects and should be used only after consulting a dermatologist. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Avatar f tn Permanent removal of hair usually takes more than one session so i would have faith in the dermatologists who told you the hair and skin will be fine after this trauma. Does the laser clinic offer an after-care service? He should definately make them aware of his bad reaction.

700212 tn?1240760820 Hi. I had the same issue with my skin. I couldnt touch the skin on my face throut tx. I was told NOT to sit in sun and honestly from being so weak I dont think I could have anyway. However I did get the sensitivity like you said when I touched by skin..it was very uncomfortable....There really isnt anything you can do about it. I had lots of sx that were just odd like feelings, sensations hot- cold and my face felt like I had a 3rd degree sunburn all the time.
Avatar n tn Hello, Cortisone shots are sometimes used for treatment of acne but they are not without side effects.In addition to the systemic side effects,they can cause flushing of the skin,skin pigmentation and sometimes an allergic reaction to cortisone.You can go in for other treatments like dermabrasion,chemical peels,laser resurfacing,punch grafts etc. I hope that helps.
