Folliculitis is common after hair removal. After laser hair removal, apply cold compresses(ice cubes wrapped in a towel) on the rash and take some antihistaminic like benadryl or claritin.You can also apply calamine lotion on the rash. It will help in soothing the skin. Application of topical antibiotics like Neosporin will also help.

My husband had laser hair removal about two weeks ago to his beard. He developed folliculitis. The folliculitis is now cleared up and the hair on his beard is very patchy. The skin under the hair seems to be lighter than the skin that has no hair. Is this b/c the skin without hair is still healing and will blend in eventually or is it going to stay this way. As for hair removal I have stopped shaving completely . When I was going for my laser hair removal treatments it seemed to spread them . So I have taken a break from that . I have started using Nair only when absolutely necessary , with the hair removal creams you have to rub or scrape the hair off it definitely irritates them and pop up smaller warts . Definitely frustrating .

The different methods of hair removal are shaving, chemical depilation by using depilatory creams, temporary epilation by plucking, tweezing, waxing and permanent epilation by electrolysis, thermolysis and laser hair removal. You can go in for waxing for these hair. If you go in for waxing ,then apply cold compresses(ice cubes wrapped in a towel) on the area after waxing and take some antihistaminic like benadryl or claritin. You can also apply calamine lotion on the area .
I have used TCA, glycolic peels, hydroquinone, tretioin, kojic, bit nothing has reduced it. Recently i heard that yag laser can be used for depigmenting skin by destroying melanin cells itself, and in a way cause hypopigmentation in these regions.
Can I do this. Please advice the type of laser, etc.
