Avatar m tn Years ago I was receiving laser hair removal on my entire brazilian area. After that, I began getting brazilian waxes. About 2-3 years ago I noticed a small, round bump (smaller than the zero on most keyboards) that was flesh colored, somewhat firm to the touch (solid, not filled with fluid) slightly raised, but relatively smooth, not bumpy. My immediate thought was that it was a keloid/scar as a result of shaving and/or having the laser used on such sensitive skin every month for years.
Avatar f tn I am a 45 year old female. I have had good, clear skin all my life. Over the past 5 years I have developed skin problems. What I have is actually deep, hard clogged pores, not actually pimples. My skin is not oily. The problem seems to becoming from the inside. It's only on my face. Every one of them leaves a small scar on my face. My pores keep getting larger.
Avatar m tn correct, this isn't an infectious disease issue, it's a dermatology issue. oh and trust me, as someone who's seen hundreds of penises between my professional and personal life - they aren't blemish free and a few dips in the skin isn't going to turn anyone off.
Avatar m tn You could also try laser hair removal. It's expensive and a bit painful, but it would significantly reduce the amount of hair permanently. It works best for people with darker hair and lighter skin since the laser looks for the color contrast. If you do laser hair removal, you'll probably use a lidocaine cream 30 minutes before the treatment. It basically feels like a rubber band snapping on your skin. Laser hair removal requires several treatments to work.
Avatar n tn Hello, There are 5 types of laser hair removal systems. These include pulsed light, Nd YAG laser, diode laser. Alexanderite laser and ruby laser. This depends on the skin type and varies from patient to patient. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist for the skin type and then depending on that, laser hair removal can be decided.

Avatar f tn d advise everyone to steer clear of laser hair removal on the upper lip. I have very pale skin and was informed that I was a perfect candidate for laser hair removal on the face; however, the skin on the upper lip is far too sensitive for laser hair removal, whatever your skin tone. I have spent a fortune on creams such as Clinique's dark spot corrector with little effect. The issue is that the damage caused by the laser is so deep no topical solution is effective.
682777 tn?1226687522 This is unique because it is relatively painless and unlike the laser hair removal process, IPL works equally well on most skin pigmentations without removing any of the pigment. IPL hair removal is reported to safely and effectively eliminate hair of all colors: blond, red, brown, black and even white. There are differences between laser and IPL. In IPL the intense light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted into heat.
Avatar f tn Am having hirsutism coz of PCOS, i did my first hair laser removal. how many sessions of laser removal i need?????
Avatar m tn Hello, Laser hair removal is for permanent removal of hair.It needs multiple sessions. Laser hair reduction works by targeting the hair follicle through the melanin in the hair. Melanin absorbs laser energy and transfers it down to the hair follicles, rendering them ineffective, thus stopping future hair growth. It is effective for all skin types and the most commonly noticed side effects are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, similar to sunburn.
Avatar f tn Hi ,Can i get laser hair removal while i have genital warts??my warts are tiny and there are about 2 or 3 warts.I just want to know if laser hair removal safe in this situation or it may cause of spreading warts on adjacent skin?
Avatar n tn Hello, Folliculitis is common after hair removal. After laser hair removal, apply cold compresses(ice cubes wrapped in a towel) on the rash and take some antihistaminic like benadryl or claritin. You can also apply calamine lotion on the rash. It will help in soothing the skin. Application of topical antibiotics like Neosporin will also help. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Various methods used for mole removal are excision and cauterization. Although laser removal has been tried for moles, it is not usually the method of choice for most deep moles because the laser light doesn't penetrate deeply enough. You can get this mole evaluated from a dermatologist and get it evaluated. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn Hi, Hyperpigmentation Removal treatments are used to eradicate darkened areas of the skin which may result from hormones, sun damage, injuries, skin-type characteristics, medications and more. Hyperpigmentation lesions can be anything from melasma/cholasma often attributed to pregnancy or hormonal imbalances to freckles. The first step is consulting with a qualified surgeon or dermatologist to determine the cause and then go over your options for a solution.
Avatar n tn My question for you is should I go to a laser surgeon for this? Also, does laser surgery get rid of small flat moles like what I have? I have lots but I also have 13,000 dollars and am willing to spend every penny to have clear skin. Or else I'm never going to live my life. I've also seen this stuff; pixie dust that can grow back limbs. I figured I would chop my arm with the scars on them off and regrow my arm with pixie dust.
Avatar m tn Dear All i have VITILIGO ( a very small white patch ) but i want to remove my unwanted hair from abdomen areas by Laser Hair Removal so is it Risky for me to use laser hair removal. this is Little urgent help needed.
4330487 tn?1352904949 m not qualified to give you a range of credible alternatives. But what does come to mind is laser hair removal. Those with light skin and dark hair are the best candidates for laser hair removal. I have PCOS, too, but I am the opposite...almost hairless. But, in the ways many women would like permanent hair removal, I do too. But since I have very fair skin and blond hair, I'm not a candidate for laser hair removal. Although expensive, that would be a permanent solution.
Avatar f tn My husband had laser hair removal about two weeks ago to his beard. He developed folliculitis. The folliculitis is now cleared up and the hair on his beard is very patchy. The skin under the hair seems to be lighter than the skin that has no hair. Is this b/c the skin without hair is still healing and will blend in eventually or is it going to stay this way. Also, this was the first treatment. Will hair grow back in these spots that have no hair.
