Avatar n tn As for laser therapy, this may be of use also but look for a dermatologist with a good experience in terms of performing laser procedures. Laser therapy may burn skin and cause discolorations also. Bleaching creams may be used also but with close supervision as this may be abrasive.
Avatar f tn Moisturizers may even out the skin and keep the skin smooth. This may improve the appearance of the skin. I would not suggest that you apply any medicated creams on the area. If the symptoms persist, you would need to consult your doctor. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar n tn The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment.Apply hydroquinone cream on this scar and it should go away in a few days to months. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Hi, You would need to talk to your skin specialist about the laser therapy. But first just discuss whether topical creams or microdermabrasion could be used in your case. The costs involved would depend on area involved, site, duration of treatment, no of sittings required, etc. Consult your skin specialist and till then you could use aloe vera creams, vitamin E creams and over the counter available demelanising agents.

Avatar m tn After it healed (FWIW I used neosporin) and I guess the scab fell off, a scar appeared in the form of a lighter skin tone where the circular break had occured. The rest of my shaft is some-what dark, so this spot-scar stands out TO ME, and is inappropriately but frequently bothersome. Well I just want to know if this lighter circle will ever fade back to my normal skin tone?
Avatar m tn The silicon scar gel sheets I used were provided to be by a plastic surgeon after surgery on my cheeks, and although they did reduce the scar by somewhere around 80%, I still got laser scar removal to completely erase the scar. As Grace pointed out, the genital skin is definitely much more thin, sensitive, and delicate, so products that should be used on it will be recommended to you by your dermatologist.

Avatar n tn I thought it was normal but after a week there is a brownish scar (thasts what i think it is) on my upper lip what do i do? What products can take this scar out? Is scar removel treatment considerable? Please help me!!
Avatar m tn i could have it removed by biopsy or laser (to burn it), with laser leaving a smaller but indented scar. i would like to have it removed but im worried about the extent of scarring and the chance of it coming back which he said was possible. the bump is approx. 3mm in diameter and raised 1.5mm, and i also have two similar smaller bumps on the crown of my head which i would like to remove too. I am wondering is this a common procedure, and my biggest concern is the likelyhood of a bad scar.
Avatar f tn Otherwise you can go in for glycolic peals, laser treatments and pressure dressings. Severe scarrings may need skin grafting by a plastic surgeon. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn I got this scar after a minor injury where my knee was peeled of after u fell down. Avatar n tn your link just said that the CO2 laser works really well with great cosmetic results. That laser, CO2 laser, is a relatively new laser, and does have a wide range of conditions that it can treat. Though there are numerous other lasers that can be used. Going for surgery may only cause more scar tissue growth and leave a similar marking on the lip. Talk to your doctor about your options and then decide from there.
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it might be due to chloasma of pregnancy. It is a tan or dark facial skin discoloration. Although it can affect anyone, melasma is particularly common in women, especially pregnant women and those who are taking oral or patch contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The treatment includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment.
Avatar n tn Anyways, two of the lacerations left scars, but surrounding the scars are pink skin that appears to be new skin growing after the area scabbed up (the scabs fell off after taking off bandaging). I am very concerned that this pink area surrounding the scar will not go away, its been 1 month, and its still the same color as when the scabbing first came off. Could you please tell me what is wrong, and what I can do to make it match my skin color. Thank you.

Avatar m tn Hi, For as long as I can remember I have had an overly thickened, uneven circumcision scar with considerable reddening of the skin surrounding the scar. Bizarrely it is considerably thicker and more 'inflamed' on the left side of the penile shaft. As you would expect, it is particularly apparent when erect. My first question is whether or not you would recommend pursuing any of the conventional scar reducing treatments, such as silicone sheeting, or are these ineffectual?
Avatar n tn I have a scar on my face and I had a scar removal incision done on it to reduce the appearance of the scar about 2-3 years ago. however, it is STILL red and the apperance i believe have gotten worse than it was prior to the surgery. when wil the redness go away?
