Avatar m tn The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. Apply hydroquinone cream on this scar and it should go away in a few days to months. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period. I hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Laser may be more expensive and they may require more sessions for effective results. This depends on the extent and depth of the scar. For small scars, then Laser may be helpful. Microdermabrasion may even help. How large is this scar?

Avatar n tn your link just said that the CO2 laser works really well with great cosmetic results. That laser, CO2 laser, is a relatively new laser, and does have a wide range of conditions that it can treat. Though there are numerous other lasers that can be used. Going for surgery may only cause more scar tissue growth and leave a similar marking on the lip. Talk to your doctor about your options and then decide from there.
Avatar f tn t usually leave a scar. One medicine which has been advised by many dermatologists for scar diminishing is contractubex gel/cream. You can seek your dermatologist/surgeon’s opinion before using this cream. Otherwise you can go in for glycolic peals, laser treatments and pressure dressings. Severe scarrings may need skin grafting by a plastic surgeon.
Avatar f tn Dear Michael Kutryb, MD: My doctor suggested I laser a floater that may be near the front of my eye. Doesn't this laser procedure leave scar tissue that may later cause problems? I'm not sure if I want scar tissue in my eye. Does it vaporize the floater of is it true it leaves scar tissue that can pull on the eye?
Avatar n tn Hello! I am a 21 year old male who had horrible acne while in middle and high school. I was not very smart and used to pick and pop at my zits all the time and this has resulted in some pretty bad scaring, mostly on my forehead. I'd really like to know if there is anyway I could get these treated? Should I just go to a dermatologists office and have them recommend what to do?
Avatar f tn I was wondering if they had a laser surgery for removing a scar from the retina? I heard there was a new procedure called laser ablation that would do this. If not what can I find out about removing this scar from my eye?

Avatar m tn The silicon scar gel sheets I used were provided to be by a plastic surgeon after surgery on my cheeks, and although they did reduce the scar by somewhere around 80%, I still got laser scar removal to completely erase the scar. As Grace pointed out, the genital skin is definitely much more thin, sensitive, and delicate, so products that should be used on it will be recommended to you by your dermatologist.
Avatar m tn What are my options here? Are fraxel or laser a possiblity to smooth this protuding scar or will this need surgery?
Avatar m tn i just resigned myself that I have to put up with scar tissue for 5 months in order to have better sight. How normal is scar tissue after cataract surgery? why can't he take the scar tissue out now instead of waiting 5 months?
Avatar m tn IF the scar is interfering with vision, sometimes a rigid lens may be used to smooth the cornea and allow vision. Other options for the scar include surgical removal with a laser if it is superficial or if it is deep, a corneal transplant may enable clear cornea. Speak with your doctor about the best options given its appearance for improving vision. Dr. Feldman Sandy T. Feldman, M.D., M.S.
Avatar m tn After it healed (FWIW I used neosporin) and I guess the scab fell off, a scar appeared in the form of a lighter skin tone where the circular break had occured. The rest of my shaft is some-what dark, so this spot-scar stands out TO ME, and is inappropriately but frequently bothersome. Well I just want to know if this lighter circle will ever fade back to my normal skin tone?
Avatar f tn m just quit anxious about my appointment and I wad also wondering if the optometrist can do laser surgery and if I do have laser surgery how long would it take to build scar tissue and would it be safe to go on rides?
Avatar m tn I asked him about the possibility of laser but even though the scar is not deep it is diffuse and there would be no way to treat it with a laser. I guess I am to live with this condition from now on.
Avatar m tn i could have it removed by biopsy or laser (to burn it), with laser leaving a smaller but indented scar. i would like to have it removed but im worried about the extent of scarring and the chance of it coming back which he said was possible. the bump is approx. 3mm in diameter and raised 1.5mm, and i also have two similar smaller bumps on the crown of my head which i would like to remove too. I am wondering is this a common procedure, and my biggest concern is the likelyhood of a bad scar.
Avatar n tn Hi Lynn, that is frustrating, but it may be that the scar is still in the way, or even more in the way. maybe with more time the scar will go away. you may need more laser. I would ask that question specifically to the doctor. Are you seeing an EyeMD? Are you in Kentucky or Oklahoma? Sometimes it takes a bit longer to heal from these. Good luck.
Avatar n tn He suggested using laser to remove the scar tissue in my left eye first. After a month, the vision in my left eye was somewhat blurred. I went back to him and he told me the scar tissue "flap" didn't fall down as planned. He advised me to wait another (6) weeks to see if the "flap" falls away. The alternative is an operation to remove the scar tissue.
