652407 tn?1300737199 Hello, I am not very sure of the efficacy and the related side effects of these tattoo removal creams but laser removal although expensive has been found to be the best treatment for tattoo removal. Another technique is Intense Pulsed Light Therapy. It is dermal enhancer in which instead of laser light, it uses high intensity light. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn On 1st March 2011 I underwent a laser treatment (Alexandrite device) on a couple a tattoos I have (one on the inner part of my left arm and the other on the back side of my right arm) however, I have noticed that about 04-05 weeks later I started developing mosquito-bites type of thing on the area of the tattoos which can be very itchy and come and go within a few hours. The treatment was performed by a qualified physian and at a reputable clinic.
Avatar f tn I typically have an extremely high pain tolerance. I have tattoos all over, several piercings, have had laser hair removal in more places than a human should, and none of these processes were painful (ok, laser hair removal was no walk in the park but I did all areas without numbing cream). I know they say there is no pain like labor pains, but does anyone recommend it natural without meds and have any advice to naturally deal with the pain and any possible advice to make labor shorter?
Avatar n tn Hello, There are 5 types of laser hair removal systems. These include pulsed light, Nd YAG laser, diode laser. Alexanderite laser and ruby laser. This depends on the skin type and varies from patient to patient. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist for the skin type and then depending on that, laser hair removal can be decided.
303706 tn?1296876149 Ladies, help me out here. I don't have any stretchmarks on my stomach so far yet, but I do have some nasty dark ones on my breast (just the right one) its a few lines but very noticeable. I want to get a tattoo over it, but my babys dad said the ink won't stay that the tattoo is just going to look messed up and blurry. He's sleeved up and he has an area of stretchmarks where the ink is alot lighter than the other area...
Avatar n tn It sounds like you might have some hemosiderin staining--i.e., your skin has been stained by your blood. I had that problem following eye surgery. In some cases, this type of staining can be permanent--but don't worry, I have a solution for you. Google "candela laser" to find the company's website. You'll find a small-scale study in which the AlexTriVantage laser successfully removed "permanent" hemosiderin stains.
Avatar f tn I have a solution for you. I think that your problem is hemosiderin staining--your skin has been stained by your blood. I had the same problem from a black eye I got from having eye surgery. Try googling "hemosiderin staining candela laser" to locate a small study showing that an AlexTriVantage laser can remove this type of discoloration. I used the doctor locator feature on the website to find a dermatologist in my area.
Avatar n tn Last year I stared getting ingrown hairs in my face pretty much out of nowhere. I really did not have acne problems before this began. I have been using duac gel and it reallt has not gotten much better. I have been told that laser treatment would be a great choice. What is the average price range for the laser removal of ingrown hairs? This discussion is related to Infected facial hair follicles (in-grown hairs).
Avatar n tn I have a brown spot on the white part of my eye, and I am going to remove it with a laser. It looks like a freckle, and I know it's harmless, but I'm still scared it'll grow in the future. I need to know the price so I can discuss it with my mother. Even if you can't give me an EXACT dollar amount, an estimate would be greatly appreciated because I know my insurance company won't cover it.
Avatar m tn You could also try laser hair removal. It's expensive and a bit painful, but it would significantly reduce the amount of hair permanently. It works best for people with darker hair and lighter skin since the laser looks for the color contrast. If you do laser hair removal, you'll probably use a lidocaine cream 30 minutes before the treatment. It basically feels like a rubber band snapping on your skin. Laser hair removal requires several treatments to work.
Avatar n tn She found a doctor in ny that uses laser for surgical treatment of breast cancer, DCIS, microcalcifications etc. He uses laser for procedures such as lumpectomy, mastectomy, etc. She is considering using this doctor but she is concerned about why more doctors don't use laser. Does anyone have information on why laser is not more commonly used?
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a mole on my face and I did a mole excursion, a small brown spot grew back, and I did a mole laser removal surgery to get it remove. However after the laser removal surgery, my mole is not disorted and grown, it doesn't seem to be a tissue scar cause it is dark brown and a raiser lump has occurred. Is this an indication of something? Can I get mole removal again using laser or excision or it would keep coming back? Thanks!
Avatar n tn As crazy as it sounds, I am thinking of trying rogaine to reverse the process. Does anyone know of a way to reverse laser hair removal??.
682777 tn?1226687522 This is unique because it is relatively painless and unlike the laser hair removal process, IPL works equally well on most skin pigmentations without removing any of the pigment. IPL hair removal is reported to safely and effectively eliminate hair of all colors: blond, red, brown, black and even white. There are differences between laser and IPL. In IPL the intense light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted into heat.
Avatar f tn Have have numerous self inflicted scars all over my body but mostly my arms/wrists and rather then spend the rest of my life in long sleeves I am wondering about covering all my scars with tattoos? Has anyone else done this before? I really need to not have these scars forever! Thanks!
Avatar f tn Laser hair removal might be what you are looking for. Why don't you want to shave though? If it is because of uncomfortability then laser probably isn't the way...
Avatar n tn Does body laser hair removal effect the baby if pregnant ? Is it okay to have laser done while pregnant ?
Avatar f tn The brownish staining from the bruising I got following multiple surgeries on my right eye was completely removed by a single treatment with a Q-switched laser. This is the same laser used to remove tattoos. I had previously been told that the problem was untreatable, since no cream could penetrate that deeply. But I recently found an article on the Candelalaser website describing the use of a Q-switched laser to treat blood staining on the legs and calves. I was referred to Dr.
606433 tn?1220239937 Hi, I have hair on my upper lip, chin, stomach and belly. When it really started to bother me, I jumped into laser hair removal right away and spend a lot of money getting it done. Now after a series of very painful treatments, I still have the hair and because of the shaving it is actually worse. I'm not saying don't do laser hair removal, a lot of people have had success with it but just remember when you think of the investment there is a chance it won't work. Best of Luck!
10175753 tn?1408314528 The laser procedure used was to clear lens of "cloudiness" build up on lens two years after original cataract surgery. Laser "accidentally touched" lens during the "clean off" leaving a bubble in the lens where it was touched by laser.
Avatar n tn Ablation of lesions using pulsed dye laser may be performed for cosmesis. The use of a pulsed dye laser with a green light source allows selective absorption of the laser energy by the hemoglobin contained within the red blood cells and subsequent obliteration of the vascular lumen. Cryotherapy: Cryotherapy is a less well-controlled means by which lesions are eliminated through irritation, coagulation, and subsequent destruction.
Avatar m tn Various methods used for mole removal are excision and cauterization. Although laser removal has been tried for moles, it is not usually the method of choice for most deep moles because the laser light doesn't penetrate deeply enough. You can get this mole evaluated from a dermatologist and get it evaluated. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
