Avatar n tn Laser treatment for genital warts, is nothing but vapourising warts and is reserved for tough to treat warts. Laser treatment is very precise and can be used to treat warts in difficult to reach areas. Laser treatment also has a low risk of damage to surrounding tissue. During the procedure, smoke created from the vapourising tissue is extracted by a machine. This can be quite loud and may be alarming if you haven't been warned.
Avatar f tn As for hair removal I have stopped shaving completely . When I was going for my laser hair removal treatments it seemed to spread them . So I have taken a break from that . I have started using Nair only when absolutely necessary , with the hair removal creams you have to rub or scrape the hair off it definitely irritates them and pop up smaller warts . Definitely frustrating .
Avatar m tn Unless warts are very large and uncomfortable, surgical removal or aggressive laser surgery to remove the warts is generally avoided. In any case you should not attempt to remove a wart yourself by cutting, tearing, picking, or any other method. You should consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Several treatment sessions are usually required. The pulse dye laser is a technique for removal, with little incidence of complications like scarring. Other treatments your doctor may use can be use of some immune-stimulator, injections of candida (yeast) or injections of an antibiotic bleomycin (used in cancer therapy). It should be noted that since warts are caused by a virus, they may recur following attempts at surgical removal. However, they often heal themselves within one- two years.
2206935 tn?1373638605 I've been dealing with this for nearly a year now...tried the aldera (no improvement), Dr. removed w/acid procedure (some improvement), had laser surgery (worked well, but came back), I've had repeat trips to the Dr. for removal w/acid treatment...So far breakouts have been less severe (meaning # of warts) and the time in between breakouts is getting longer With that said I would not recommend aldera or laser surgery...
687098 tn?1240889420 Hi, There is no single treatment for warts that is 100% effective and different types of treatment may be combined. You should consult a skin specialist for the symptoms. If these are plane warts - she would benefit by using salicylic acid cream, cryotherapy, curettage and light cautery. If these are filiform warts - cryotherapy or curettage and light cautery would help.
Avatar m tn I have had genital warts for over a year. I can trace my aquisition of HPV to an encounter 2 months before my first outbreak. I have had all visible warts frozen off 8-9 times this past year and they keep coming back. I have completed 2 courses of therapy on Aldara and that just seemed to make the warts grow faster. I have used salicylic acid, 4 weeks of duct tape occulsion therapy and have started regularly taking echinacea to boost my immune system.
Avatar f tn Hello, Aladara is the first line of treatment for genital warts. When it is used it does not stop the growth of new warts. Use it for the prescribed time. Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar m tn I have had flat warts on my arms for at least 14 years. I also have them on my face, mostly my forehead. Recently we noticed that my wife has them on her legs. I have read they are extremely contagious, but on this post site, it says they are not. I have read, all forms of HPV are spreadable, through contact, if there are abrasions to the skin, etc. Is there anything I can do to speed up the disappearance of the flat warts?
Avatar m tn Hello, Yes warts are less likely to recur after treatment. For small warts , several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts. Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation.
Avatar n tn Skin tags are harmless and removal is only for cosmetic reasons, can be done by Electro-cautery or Cryosurgery i.e freezing it. Warts are caused by a viral infection, can last for years and can recur. They can be removed by Cryosurgery or Laser technique. The wart often regrows after the skin has healed. THere are OTC agents available like salicylic acid and siver nitrate solutions but these are messy and will require 2-3 months to be effective. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn There is no need to check yourself daily for recurrences- the HPV related processes just do not move that fast. typically it takes 3-6 months following an exposure for warts to become apparent on examination. Our usual advice is that if there is no visible recurrence 3 months following resolution/removal of warts, that persons should consider themselves no longer infections. In your case, there has already been some non penetrative contact and you have been aggressively treated.

Avatar n tn Hello, The treatment of wrats depends on the size and area involved. For small warts, several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts but they should be used after a dermatologist’s guidance. Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation.
Avatar m tn I have 3 warts on the side of my penis and they've been there for about 9 months. They're somewhat small. 2 are on the side of my penis and 1 on the top of my testicle. I'm positive they're genital warts. I'm just not sure what type of doctor to see and what methods will they use to remove them? I spoke with someone who had them removed using condylox gel and he said it took 3 days on, 2 days off, and then 3 days on again but he said it was amazingly painful.
