Common Questions and Answers about Laser liposuction procedure

laser

Avatar f tn Neither is liposuction surgery or laser liposuction. Women have died as a result of liposuction surgery which is major surgery. I wouldn't recommend liposuction sugery, laser or otherwise to any woman or man for that matter. Laser surgery is still surgery. Have you ever seen a video of a liposuction procedure. It's horrifying. The after effects can include infections, burst veins and other life threatening repercussions.
Avatar n tn The first question I would ask is whether he/she is a board certified plastic surgeon or another kind of physiian who just happened to buy a Smartlipo laser. Liposuction is definitely skill and technique dependent and I personally find that treatment under general anesthesia with traditional liposuction (I use power assisted liposuction) gives consistently good result. Sometimes touchup procedures are appropriate.
Avatar n tn Laser Assisted liposuction: Advance Laser Assisted Liposuction uses a powerful laser to melt the membranes of each fat cell, causing them to break down, so there will be fewer traumas, means faster recovery.
Avatar n tn The use of a Smartlipo laser assocaited with traditional liposuction in the presence of a major hernia, could potentially injury bowel (a major catastrophe). Smartlipo machines are sold to any physician who is willing to shell out the funds for this equipment irregardless of training or specialty. Since I do not know the qualifications of your doctor or the true nature of your hernia, I cannot comment about the appropriateness of your treatment.
224988 tn?1208104697 Smartlipo is almost always performed with liposuction. The laser only liquefies the fat which must then be resorbed by the body over a period of time or immediately be removed with liposuction.
Avatar f tn Thrombophlebitis (blood clots) in the legs is a very rare problem with this procedure since you will be ambulatory immediately following the procedure and most surgeons use intermittent compression devices on the legs during the procedure. Temporary numbness is almost universal following the procedure due to swelling, but this disappears with time and is rarely permanent.
Avatar n tn I had Smart Lipo on my inner and outer thighs last week. I have a Mirena IUD and haven't had a period in months. Since I had this procedure I've been bleeding. Could the laser have something to do with this? When my Dr was doing my inner thighs, he got really close to my pubic bone and it did hurt when he pushed toward the bone. If this is a reason for my sudden bleeding I need to know for how long should this continue. Would this be like a regular period now?
982526 tn?1248898065 Although laser liposuction has been shown to have some skin contracture characteritics, you will be able to judge the final results of your procedure in several more months.
20904314 tn?1607606988 Liposuction is a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction also shapes (contours) these areas.
Avatar n tn You need to seek a surgeon who is highly experienced with liposuction and does not rely only on Smartlipo for your procedure. Revision of liposuction with additional liposuction and possible fat grafting may be required to improve your appearance. Redo procedures can be successful in the right hands.
Avatar m tn Is it possible that I could have developed dermatographic urticaria and urtacaria pigmentosa after a cosmetic liposuction procedure? I was a healthy 42 year old woman before i had liposuction to my stamace and back thigh areas. 5 months after that procedure I have suffered with dermagrahic urticaria. Could the surgery have interfered with my connective tissues in some way and caused this disease?
Avatar n tn I know that you probably have already had the procedure done, but I hope I can help others who may come across this page. I would recommend exploring all other avenues before getting the liposuction surgery performed. Because even if you can get the fat sucked out, that doesn't men that it wont come back. If I were you, I would try, at least try, to lose the weight naturally. Then have a skin removal surgery. I really hope this helps!
Avatar f tn I cannot seem to firm up or lose any weight since the removal of the omentum.I am wondering if I could be a candidate for liposuction or if a surgeon would do this due to omentum removal.Would the procedure be safe.
3112530 tn?1434032033 Let me give a little background first. I have a history of DDD/DJD and have had continuous steroid shots over the years. My last steroid shot was Nov. 2012. I noticed my right breast was enlarged and the nipple was somewhat painful. I had a mammogram done and it showed negative. The nipple pain has somewhat decreased but the breast is still enlarged. My doctor said he can do some 'minor surgery' or something like that. What type of procedure would be required here?
Avatar n tn Hi.. I think diet can help only to some extend. My friend has done her liposuction surgery procedure in Lakeview Surgery Centre, Richmond Hill. She tried dieting and exercise but could reduce only around 6 lbs. So she did this surgery and is quite satisfied with the procedure. If you want a quick result I think surgery is the better option. But before taking any decision consult your doctor. All the best !
903476 tn?1242237037 Can liposuction surgery be concidered as a reconstructive surgery when the patient can not lose weight normally and the weight is casueing breaking, splintering and chipping of the bones to the point orthiopedic surgery is needed to repair the damage?
Avatar n tn But I really just want to lose the flab in my upper arms and stomach without losing my *** or breast. I know that liposuction and tummy tuck is an option for me but I cannot afford the cost and all the complications that come with it. My friend pointed me to this advertisement she saw on facebook for a home lipo laser machine called slimray because she found it funny and ridiculous but i am really curious about it cos i am quite desperate to get rid of the fatty tummy.
Avatar f tn I am getting lipo done the end of May. I am very nervous and wondering if I picked the "right dr. This will be my second cosmetic procedure done but with a different surgeon....Anyone out there who has had lipo done recently?? Did it work for you and are you pleased with the results? The surgeon I picked is a certified american board of plastic surgery, a member of the ASPS, and fellow of American College of surgeons. His office is small but seems to be pretty busy.
Avatar f tn Options for axillary breast tissue include direct excision of the tissue and potential liposuction (the risk being incomplete removal). Costs and the best procedure for you should be discussed at a consultation with a plastic surgeon in your area.
Avatar n tn Hi there, New to the boards! I have had Hashimoto's since 2006, and I'm sure other women will agree that having this disease sure does a number on the puffiness of the face and neck. I am on the evil and disgusting Synthroid+Liothyronine combo until I can get back on natural thyroid meds. I'm still searching for a new doctor to prescribe it to me.
Avatar m tn My urologist recommends a laser TUIP procedure for me. Does the procedure require a resectoscope? Which would require a urethra dilation. What French size is the instrument they use and how big does the urologist dilate my urethra?
Avatar f tn Also, I have a depression at the site of the lumpectomy and am considering fat implants ( liposuction, then fat injection to the breast) to restore the fullness. Do you recommend this procedure? I have looked into fat stem cell implant clinical trials but I must first be 1 year from surgery date and a T2. I am a T1 and 5 mos from surgery date. I would love to return my skin and breast to the most normal shape possible. Then I will feel I am really finished with treatment. Many thanks.
Avatar m tn Resection of the excess firm breast tissue with or without liposuction is the typical treatment, although sometimes just liposuction solves the problem. The procedure usually is performed around the nipple areola and the resulting scar is almost invisible for most patients. Best wishes..
Avatar m tn What are the normal after-effects of the Laser Retinopexy Procedure and how longer should they last? I had laser retinopexy procedure performed on one eye four weeks ago to correct a "horse-shoe tear" in the retina. I wasn't experienceing any vision problems in this eye prior to the laser retinopexy procedure, as the tear was detected during my annual eye exam by an eye physician.
Avatar n tn I have never heard of any procedure being used to achieve this other than liposuction, in someone with excess fat. You can speak with an orthopedist about this, but you will probably get the same response.
Avatar n tn I have the same issue....really wish there was something available to fix it but I have scanned the internet for over 5 years and nothing. I guess we will continue to wear long skirts and slacks!
Avatar m tn Liposuction is a surgical procedure that involves removing fat cells from the body through a small incision. While liposuction is not specifically designed as a cellulite treatment, it is often used in combination with other procedures to improve the appearance of cellulite. Liposuction can provide more dramatic results than non-surgical treatments, but it is also more invasive and carries a higher risk of complications.
