Avatar m tn We have had a number of eye injuries from badmitton. From now on wear protective glasses for all racquet sports. The laser does not cure the hole it seals it shut. It is generally not painful or minimal pain; varies from patient to patient and procedure to procedure. As to the risks and benefits you will need to discuss with your surgeon.

Avatar n tn I don't have diabetes, no head injuries and no incindent on both eyes. When I was in the US Navy I had prk lasek surgery on both eyes. After 4 years, suddenly my right have detached retina. My doctor had made treatment on my right eye to have vitrectomy surgery. I still having problem my vision is blurring and cloudy. Is this likely or most likely related to lasek surgery? Note: I have a website for detached retina due to lasek surgery.
Avatar n tn Please see an EyeMD Ophthalmologist right away. It could possibly be a serious problem just from your description of being hit in the eye by a raquetball. It's kind of like telling me you got hit by a car. Surely I would recommend seeing a doctor right away. Raquetballs are notorious for causing serious eye injuries. Remember to always wear eye protection because if the ball doesn't hit you a raquet will.
Avatar n tn The only thing that worries me is persistent small amount of subretinal fluid that accompanies the atrophic hole at 11 o’clock in my left eye - it was treated with laser retinopexy about 8 months ago and my Doctor said that the fluid doesn’t pass the laser demarcation line and the treated area is stable. My doctor’s answer about the fluid was quite vague and he said that the fluid may never reabsorb. So my question is: 1.
Avatar f tn ve had no injuries or infections. I can raise my eyebrow on the bad eye and made the upper eyelid ptosis almost 'disappear'. I've seen an ophthalmologist who has referred me to a neurologist. When I look for info on reverse ptosis, all I find is Horner's. Are there any other conditions associated or is this symptom pretty specific? Thank you so much.
1063764 tn?1272821064 t as bright, and I can barely see any detail in my eye right. My left eye seems fine, and I can see clear. I was told to use eye drops daily. I have been for over a year. The only ones that work and didn't aggravate my eyes are the Systane gel drops. However, even they do not seem to be working anymore. At this point I am very scared, and I am trying to find an ophthalmologist under my insurance. I figure a real MD might know more. Anyone ever experience this or something similar.
Avatar f tn glaucoma, retinal detachment or age or myopic macular degeneration. Have frequent eye exams, live a healthy lifestyle and avoid eye injuries.
Avatar m tn 5 weeks since the incident and I still have blurry vision in my eye. I have been to specialist eye doctors at an eye hospital who were happy with how the eye was healing but said I must be patient with the healing process. At this early stage the vision recovery is still uncertain. They have said to give it at least 6 weeks and I have booked several follow up appointments.
Avatar n tn It sounds like you might have some hemosiderin staining--i.e., your skin has been stained by your blood. I had that problem following eye surgery. In some cases, this type of staining can be permanent--but don't worry, I have a solution for you. Google "candela laser" to find the company's website. You'll find a small-scale study in which the AlexTriVantage laser successfully removed "permanent" hemosiderin stains.

Avatar f tn I also want to know how is it possible that after the 360 laser on my left eye for precautionary the vitrous then started pulling and retina detached. I must also mention that I am myopic -6. Now I have sclera buckle in both eyes. I must also mention that the current detachment on my right eye is not interfering with my vision. Please help from South Africa.
Avatar n tn Most recently (this year) I had laser on my other eye to repair a small detachment and tears, and because the surgeon intended to do everything possible to seal off the problem, I was given an injection of anesthetic in my eye before the laser. In other words, the surgeon anticipated that the laser could cause pain. I do have lattice but was treated with laser only when tears/holes appeared. I hope by now your pain is gone!
Avatar m tn However injuries like these may be associated with injuries to other structures of the eye as well and management may vary accordingly. As far the vision is concerned, the exact issue that is causing vision problems may need to be identified before suggesting a management plan. It would be best to get this evaluated by an ophthalmologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn another opthalmologist just told me that i am not suffering from exotrophia, but just an eye power problem. i was told by him that my right eye has a positive number and the right eye goes out of focus towards my ear when m not wearing glasses. he will be able to reduce it to normal by laser. i would like to know how much could be the success chance in my case and does the laser have major side effects?
Avatar f tn Actually I've been to Asg eye hospital and was seen by an eye MD opthalmologist only?
Avatar m tn I just had laser done on right eye today and vision is way better than my left already. Although my left eye was buckled 6weeks ago the vision is still quite blurry. I'm hoping that soon I can get new glasses and left eye clears up at least some. So don't be afraid to tell your doctor that they CAN sedate, put you out and also use gas.
Avatar n tn Hi, Hyperpigmentation Removal treatments are used to eradicate darkened areas of the skin which may result from hormones, sun damage, injuries, skin-type characteristics, medications and more. Hyperpigmentation lesions can be anything from melasma/cholasma often attributed to pregnancy or hormonal imbalances to freckles. The first step is consulting with a qualified surgeon or dermatologist to determine the cause and then go over your options for a solution.
Avatar f tn About a month ago I had yag laser treatment (by another surgeon) of one eye. It went from pre-laser treatment 20/15 distance vision to post-laser treatment of 20/25 distance vision. The second surgeon is not sure why that happened. I do recall the first surgeon saying he was going to do slight monovision although I don't recall which eye that was -- I thought it was the other eye.
Avatar m tn I had cateract surgery about two years ago. My left eye is ok but my right eye has lost some vision. My eye doctor told me today that I could have my right eye lasered. Do you know what this procedure involves? Thank you.
