laryngitis

Avatar m tn I cant sing anymore except in a lower tone without going up. I find my self running short on breath as I talk at times. Im not in pain, just curious about whats going one.
Avatar n tn I woke up a week ago with laryngitis. Later that day, I began to have pressure in my eardrums. Both ruptured by 10:00 PM. (My left eardrum ruptured around this time last year.) It is very difficult to hear above the ringing in both ears and, despite the fact I am on medication (antibiotics, hear drops, nasal spray, pain relievers), my hearing seems to be getting worse. Should I just be patient and toughen it out for the next two months, or should I see a ENT doctor?
Avatar m tn I lost my voice about two weeks ago from yelling far too much at a party. Since then, I've been able to speak, but I get pain in the left side of my throat and my ear when I talk for more than a minute. In general, I feel discomfort/a small lump in my throat when I swallow which is really what hurts. My voice sounds totally normal, though.
Avatar f tn Now last night was fine, but I sat down for dinner, and could hardly swallow my food. The pain kept me up most of the night. Now pain is getting severe with the ear pain and swallowing. Feels like I have a small pea stuck in side of my throat, radiating to my ear and tongue base. Unfortunately (:-() (LOL) I am married to an ENT. He seems to think nothing really but he can't treat me as a patient.
Avatar f tn I can’t feel any lump on my neck, but I am having hard time swallowing. After a week, the back of my ear starts to ache and now I can feel the pain inside my ear, even though the pain is tolerable I’m afraid that this is more than sore throat. Every time I try to speak the lower part of my neck is getting heavier. There are no rashes or ulcers neither in my mouth nor on my tonsils.
Avatar n tn It is usually not the drug of choice for UTI but is mostly used in otitis media (infection of the middle ear), tonsillitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Joy I feel your pain! I've been sick for about 2 days now with a cough that gets so bad I puke. I'm not taking anything because it's not an all day cough, and it's a dry cough. :) But I've had headaches, and upset stomach also.
Avatar m tn 10 days before I got sharp pain in my neck and later on I always feel there something stuck in my throat and later on pain in righ side of the neck and now having ear pain with it ...I checked up with doctor he has given me some medicine and said take medicine and show me after 10 days if again same problem then we need to do sonography.... Can this be throat cancer i smoke and now I quit ....
Avatar n tn If the pain is internal then it can be due to laryngitis or inflammation of the voice box. Gargling with warm water and antibiotics help. If it is on the outside then it can be due to inflammation of thyroid or a boil or a swollen lymph node. Please consult a doctor as diagnosis is not possible on net. Take care!
Avatar f tn i saw an ent doctor and he listened to my chest and inspected my ear, nose, throat. he said i have laryngitis possibly caused by lpr (but i have taken reflux medication & diet in the past with no luck).
Avatar m tn In June 2020 I got a bout of laryngitis. I continued on for 10 days w/ progressing neck pain radiating up to my temple on right side. Sent for Covid test (neg). Worsened and went to ER. Xrays and CTs showed slight protrusion of C4&5 and C6&7, but otherwise - normal. CBCs normal. SedRate/Inflammation marker - normal. I am female, 5'8 140, overall good health. In the last 9 months, ENT for laryrngoscopy -> clear.
Avatar n tn Pain/difficulty swallowing, fatigue, unable to speak loudly or at all, hard to breathe in with my mouth. Feels like there something in my throat, moving my neck hurts, touching my Adam's Apple hurts, laying down sleep hurts. Please someone help me.. Can anyone give me any direction to go in?
Avatar n tn I have just completed week 5. This 1 1/2 weeks have been terrible. My sore throat(turns out to be laryngitis) has not improved for the last 2 weeks. My neck feels swollen and my ears are blocked. My sebboric dermatitis has not improved but has instead gradually spread from the ears to the neck. My skin continues to have the burning sensation on the neck, upper back and collar bone area and I needed a shower to cool the skin. The pain in my pelvic/groin has returned gradually.

My Dr had refeared me to ENT again for the millionth time, I have had a number of throat swabs done always coming back inconclusive but recently had blood tests taken and now have to go to the nurse at hospital what is the reason behind it what cud possibly be wrong with my blood that causes me to get so un well ????
Avatar f tn m 28 weeks and juat getting over a viral infection, sinus infection, laryngitis and pink eye, I was givin amoxicillin and was able to take tylonol, unfortunately that all...
Avatar n tn However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed. She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.
Avatar n tn strange, vague sensations in my left check, reaching the left eye and ear - a visible swelling at the right side of my left foot, after mild pain at that location (the pain has now subsided), with a blood vessel looking particularly dark at that spot - another swelling (but much smaller, not visible) on my left hand, again after some mild pain in it Are some of these symptoms suggestive of a lymphoma? Might it be a good idea to pressure my doctor into some kind of lymph node biopsy?
Avatar m tn Any suggestions highly appreciated. I took an appointment for next week with my ENT.I see the transmission rate of 4% with unprotected sex from female to male with HSV1 genitally. I have also attached the pic for skin rash that occured on my skin.
Avatar f tn My son did just get over viral laryngitis that turned to bacterial laryngitis. He was treat with a Ceftin type drug for 14 days. He also to 60mg of steriod for 3 days, could not talk for 9 days. During this he was checked by an ENT. Yes, he has only been seen by Neuro. He had a sinus xray last year and a CAT Scan, 11-08. All were clear. He had an MRI in 11-09 when hospitalized for migraine, we went in level 8, left at level 6 apin level. That time torodol iv push worked.
Avatar n tn As someone who is still recovering from acid reflux laryngitis, I will say that it took MONTHS for my voice to return. My laryngitis started in October 2009 and continued into April 2010 with slight improvements starting in late February. When I was first diagnosed as acid reflux causing my laryngitis, I was told it would take at least three months to get my voice back.
Avatar n tn Usually these heal with treatment of laryngitis which involves antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic drugs along with maybe decongestants, warm saline gargles and throat elixirs. Nervous system disorders, tumors of larynx, bony and other tumors compressing the larynx can all cause loss of voice. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Avatar f tn I had a bad cold and then got laryngitis. That lasted 3 weeks and then the 4th week my voice came back but still hoarse. I have pain on my left side of my neck and tenderness on that side when I swallow. Dr checked me out and said throat is not red and gave me pills for acid reflux. It's been 4 days and don't think its acid reflux....voice and neck still the same. Anyone know what it could be ??
