Avatar f tn I'm 24 weeks and I have a bad cold and cough. What medicine was ok for u to take or have u taken while pregnant that will not hurt the baby?????
Avatar f tn I have had a chest, sinus cold going on four weeks now with intermittent laryngitis. I have been on a course of Levaquin 2 weeks ago and am still sick. Prior to this cold I had another cold and was on a Z pac, can't seem to get any better... Never had a fever, just productive cough raising green phlegm.. Should I be working about my immune system at this point?
Avatar f tn Okay, since 1992 I have had lots of throat infections in 1995 I had my tonsils and adanoids removed to help however it never did. And still had aleast 7 throat infections and laryngitis a year but since January this year I have had 20suvere throat infections all with laryngitis.
Avatar n tn However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed. She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.
Avatar f tn Oops, I accidentally closed out the screen before sending my message. Well, here's the short version: I had babesia and Lyme, and the testing for babesia is pretty accurate, as far as I know, because it is not bacterial, but protozoal, so it doesn't do the 'shape shifting' that Lyme bacteria can do from regular form, to cystic form, to cell-wall-deficient form. Babesia treatment was first, and once it was out of the way, I was feeling better; then on to treating Lyme.
Avatar f tn It all started a few weeks back with laryngitis and post nasal drip. I started to get my voice back and then I got a severe sore throat and it hurt to swallow and felt like my throat was swollen and it also felt like I had blisters on the back of my throat. My doctor told me to take regular mucinex to help with the pnd and to call back if it didn't get any better. After that was when my throat started hurting really bad.
Avatar n tn Good information ! Thank you so much. I'm really opting for a natural birth. I've been trying to stay away from medicine for a while except for tylenol. Healthier for my body because I've had a lot of medicine throughout my short life span and I know the chemicals used to compound drugs from a pharmaceutical viewpoint. I'm keeping my fingers crossed ! Thank you again.
Avatar m tn I checked up with doctor he has given me some medicine and said take medicine and show me after 10 days if again same problem then we need to do sonography.... Can this be throat cancer i smoke and now I quit ....
Avatar n tn As someone who is still recovering from acid reflux laryngitis, I will say that it took MONTHS for my voice to return. My laryngitis started in October 2009 and continued into April 2010 with slight improvements starting in late February. When I was first diagnosed as acid reflux causing my laryngitis, I was told it would take at least three months to get my voice back.
Avatar f tn I wish there was a natural medicine. I always try and go homeopathic or use a natural medicine, but in the case of asthma , as far as I know, you need an asthma puffer obtained through a doctor's prescription.
Avatar f tn However I have been sick a few times since then and every time the virus turns straight into terrible laryngitis. Before the surgery I very rarely ever got laryngitis but now it comes on so easily and lasts for a while. Is there any reason that this would be connected to my thyroid surgery? Wondering if this is still part of the healing process or not? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
Avatar f tn My son did just get over viral laryngitis that turned to bacterial laryngitis. He was treat with a Ceftin type drug for 14 days. He also to 60mg of steriod for 3 days, could not talk for 9 days. During this he was checked by an ENT. Yes, he has only been seen by Neuro. He had a sinus xray last year and a CAT Scan, 11-08. All were clear. He had an MRI in 11-09 when hospitalized for migraine, we went in level 8, left at level 6 apin level. That time torodol iv push worked.
Avatar n tn There is a forum on MedHelp for complementary medicine that may be more helpful to you. I would talk to your oncologist before you begin taking anything because some natural supplements can interfere with chemo drugs.
Avatar f tn an overview of these can be found in a book called Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA. There are also many other books by practitioners of natural medicine. Exercise, meditation, breathing exercises, visualizations, muscle relaxation, hypnosis are other techniques commonly tried. If these don't work, then medication will still be there. If your life has been disrupted to the point you don't function well at all, then it's psychiatrist time.
Avatar f tn I would like some advice on getting some type of OTC drug or natural supplement that may replace antibiotics. I have had a sinus and gum infection along w/headaches and tooth pain for 4 mos. I live in VA., and they don't sell antibiotics OTC like some sates do. In addition, I have BV and I hope that the antibiotic would help that too. Also, I'm uninsured and cannot see a physician, therefore, I cannot obtain a prescription.
Avatar m tn St. John's Wort is for depression, not anxiety, and will only work if the anxiety is caused by depression. There are so many anxiety remedies, and they work better in combination. A good book to start with is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA, though it's getting old. But if you don't know your natural medicine, it's very complicated, since different parts of the world have different remedies and systems.
