laryngitis

Avatar m tn Hi everyone. I have been suffering from GERD for years. I recently got a teaching job, and from day one of talking I've felt extreme throat pain. My ENT confirmed I have Reflux Laryngitis, and ramped up my meds. I was taking Nexium, and keeping weight under control. Now she added Zantac and some allergy meds for my post nasal drip. Has anyone had a job that they talk all day, and due to the GERD had severe throat pain and/or Laryngitis? How long did it last?
Avatar m tn if someone has truly discovered a cure for pancreatic cancer, that person would be rich by now, and the news about the treatment would certainly make it to the front page of leading newspapers. But this has not yet happened, precisely because no satisfactory treatment for the advanced stages of this disease has yet been found.
Avatar n tn It's better...only if you want to die. It's been linked to cyanide poisoning, of all things. Coupled with the fact that (like the other ladies have said) it's totally quack medicine. There is absolutley no *unbiased* research that shows it's affect on cancer cells. Although chemo is cytotoxic, it's the approved and only 'good' treatment out there in our lifetime. Is there some natural methods that will eventually replace chemo? Yes.
Avatar n tn As someone who is still recovering from acid reflux laryngitis, I will say that it took MONTHS for my voice to return. My laryngitis started in October 2009 and continued into April 2010 with slight improvements starting in late February. When I was first diagnosed as acid reflux causing my laryngitis, I was told it would take at least three months to get my voice back.
Avatar n tn I wanted to let you know that in my search from natural cures for tonsilitis I can across a great resource for natural remedies and ACV is the top rated cure for reflux. For my virus, I took this along with cayanne, tumeric and garlic (no no's on my low acid diet) but needed to kick out this virus ASAP several times a day. It did seem to bother my reflux some but that could be the garlic and cayanne.

Avatar f tn There is no direct natural medicine that cures asthma but there are items you can do to help your sons overall health. Since asthma is an inflammatory condition, anything that helps to lower inflammation should in theory help lowers the symptoms. Your best chance of actually helping his asthma is to find a registered and well known naturopath - they have six to eight years of university in natural medicine and thus have the knowledge regarding homeopathic and other natural treatments.

Avatar f tn And, the examinations, treatment and follow-up of the ENT indicate that you are receiving very good care. The ENT’s assertion that you are experiencing reflux laryngitis is probably correct, notwithstanding the opinion of your GI consultant. There is increasing evidence that GERD causes laryngeal signs and symptoms. Symptoms of reflux laryngitis include hoarseness, throat clearing, dysphagia, increased phlegm, and globus (feeling of lump in one’s throat) sensation.
Avatar n tn Don't do it. Simply, don't. Don't harm yourself. Talk to your hepatologist and listen to his or her advice. Don't turn yourself into a guinea pig trying unconventional "cures" - they usually are dangerous, and are not cures at all. If you can - wait for newer drugs to be released and treat with them, if you can't wait - go with the current treatment.

Avatar n tn However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed. She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.
