The pulmonologist said it was laringer spasms and a viral infection in vocal cords. Hospitalized for 3 weeks. Home on 20 days of oral steroids, flovent and nebulizer treatments. I am not feeling better.The coughng and the raspy, hoarse voice is still there and the gasping for air and choking continues but has gotten a little better. Have not restarted the advair because the asthma and pulmo dr feel the powder will be irritating to my throat.
Okay, since 1992 I have had lots of throat infections in 1995 I had my tonsils and adanoids removed to help however it never did. And still had aleast 7 throat infections and laryngitis a year but since January this year I have had 20suvere throat infections all with laryngitis.
However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed.
She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.

As someone who is still recovering from acid reflux laryngitis, I will say that it took MONTHS for my voice to return. My laryngitis started in October 2009 and continued into April 2010 with slight improvements starting in late February. When I was first diagnosed as acid reflux causing my laryngitis, I was told it would take at least three months to get my voice back.
However I have been sick a few times since then and every time the virus turns straight into terrible laryngitis. Before the surgery I very rarely ever got laryngitis but now it comes on so easily and lasts for a while. Is there any reason that this would be connected to my thyroid surgery? Wondering if this is still part of the healing process or not? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
i saw an ent doctor and he listened to my chest and inspected my ear, nose, throat. he said i have laryngitis possibly caused by lpr (but i have taken reflux medication & diet in the past with no luck).
Now, at 36 with no treatment because I thought could live with it and just make lifestyle changes, the headaches as well as other symptoms are getting worse. This past week I got laryngitis and the cough was unindurable. I actually just wanted to call 911 to intubate me to put me into a drug induced coma to get through it. The head pain has just gotten so bad. The everyday pain is managable but when I get sick... Do you think that the pain is going to get even worse if left untreated?

I have developed a chronic dry cough & laryngitis, currently I have been dealing with symptoms for a month. My son did just get over viral laryngitis that turned to bacterial laryngitis. He was treat with a Ceftin type drug for 14 days. He also to 60mg of steriod for 3 days, could not talk for 9 days. During this he was checked by an ENT.

He had a sinus xray last year and a CAT Scan, 11-08. All were clear. He had an MRI in 11-09 when hospitalized for migraine, we went in level 8, left at level 6 apin level. That time torodol iv push worked.

There are many conditions which can cause difficulty in speaking at higher pitches. Voice misuse and overuse are common causes. Acute laryngitis caused by allergies, viral infection, chronic laryngitis and laryngoesophageal reflux all can cause hoarseness and voice difficulties. Rare but serious causes producing these symptoms are vocal cord paralysis and vocal cord tumours.Please see your Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor) for an evaluation.
Will this be Herpes Laryngittis/ pharyngitis? will viral Laryngitis/Pharyngitis get relief from antibiotics as I was feeling well in a day after I took them. Will Herpes Laryngitis/Pharyngitis cause no sores in the mouth, tounge or lips? Is this some kind of bacterial infection or viral infection? Any suggestions highly appreciated. There are lots of other alternatives to Aldara- or even laser surgery, such as cryotherapy, TCA acid, other creams, etc. But stick to medical treatments, not home remedies, home remedies are not effective. Do not use Compound W or other such treatments, they were not designed for use on the genitals.
It could be due to varied causes like upper respiratory tract infection like laryngitis or pharyingitis, head and neck cancer, oral cancer, reflux laryngitis in people who have acidity and GERD, muscle abnormality, voice box abnormality, polyps, tumors or weakness of voice box etc.

restasis rx for dry eye 1/11 thurs 1/30 i started alot of post nasal symptoms by sat i had laryngitis severe by sunday went to er, they said stop restasis. viral syndrom dx. is laryngitis a side effect? i am very sensitive to all rx drugs and antibiotics , i have intolerences so did these eye drops cause this , also on synthyroid for goitors need help, i stopped the drops but i have this post tickle coughing jags no fever no rash ..
More plausible causes of hoarseness of voice need to be checked like acute laryngitis, vocal cord nodules, allergies, gastro esophageal reflux, smoking, thyroid problems, trauma to larynx, parkinson’s disease and trauma to larynx. Consult an otolaryngologist who will evaluate the causes and treat likewise. Cough suppressants for laryngitis, treat GERD, stop smoking, vocal rest etc will make a difference.

t show back up until about a year ago but I am out of the shampoo I had used and was wondering if there are any home treatments for this to make it atleast go away for awhile. The rash now is located on my upper inner left and right thighs in a somewhat oval shaped patch on both sides. I notice the rash is barely noticable in the mornings, but very noticable after showers or heat exposure or sweating.
Oh good grief. You're worried about an exposure 2 years ago but haven't been tested? Almost certainly it will be negative, but until then there's no point in fretting about it or asking advice on a forum like this. Just do it -- but don't keep asking about it until then.
