203342 tn?1328737207 I really like Flash Forward too!! I've also been watching Community (the show about community college... it reminds me of my community college a bit so that's why I like it). My brother has been watching Community with me too... he likes it for the same reason. My mom and my dad have been watching Glee and The Good Wife. I've watched one episode of each show with them. I wasn't so much into Glee, but my mom loves it.
Avatar f tn I get laryngitis after bouts of sinus infections or colds. I think it comes about from the infectious post nasal drip that constantly runs down my throat. It gets pretty terrible. The last time I had it was for 2 weeks or so. You really need to rest, drink plenty of fluids. If it's from an infection then you need to try to flush that infection out. I will get laryngitis also from constantly trying to clear my throat as well.
Avatar f tn they actually think that this part is caused by my fibromyalogia. Most of the time do you sure cause after I throw up or regurgitate which includes a great amount of stomach acid.I have large swollen lymph nodes. And a swollen place that looks like it's sitting on my carotid artery. I have had mri head ct head scan with contrast I have had all types of blood work and I even saw a very mean d ENT.
Avatar n tn However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed. She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.
Avatar f tn Incidence of viral laryngitis and it turning bact laryngitis is nothing unusual. (Hope this was some time back) Many go around with it without knowing what it is. But why did he have the Xray PNS, and the CT in November (or is it 11 Aug?) and MRI (11th of Sept?) All for this headache? Was this CT / MRI specific for brain? Or did they include nose and paranasal sinuses? Anyway, start the Rhinocort Aqua nasal spray. Yeah, I would suggest an ENT evaluation.

Avatar m tn Hello I was wondering if its normal to have dark red veins on the back of throat? I have no symptoms, but I did have acute laryngitis two months ago. Ever since then I had no symptoms, but I still feel skeptical when I see those veins on the back of my throat, so should I be worried?
Avatar n tn As someone who is still recovering from acid reflux laryngitis, I will say that it took MONTHS for my voice to return. My laryngitis started in October 2009 and continued into April 2010 with slight improvements starting in late February. When I was first diagnosed as acid reflux causing my laryngitis, I was told it would take at least three months to get my voice back.
Avatar f tn However I have been sick a few times since then and every time the virus turns straight into terrible laryngitis. Before the surgery I very rarely ever got laryngitis but now it comes on so easily and lasts for a while. Is there any reason that this would be connected to my thyroid surgery? Wondering if this is still part of the healing process or not? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
Avatar n tn About 2-3 days later I noticed that the left side of my throat was sore and inflamed with a redness to it. Over the next few days I began to lose my voice and had problems swallowing but did not have fever, body aches etc. Nor did I feel sick although I sounded horrible. I wnet to a Doctor before getting on my return flight and he said he thought I had laryngitis likely caused by a viral infection. Therefore, he did not prescribe antibiotics.
Avatar n tn I have developed a chronic dry cough & laryngitis, currently I have been dealing with symptoms for a month. I went thru same illness 5months ago was in the hospital & then passed around to various specialists without any real answers. I have done allergy testing, tests to rule out relfux, seen ENT, pulmonlogist, & family dr multiple times with not much success. No one can tell me why I got better last time, or why I am dealing with the same situation again.

Avatar n tn My son developed laryngitis about 2 months ago. It is severe so that he can not talk at all. His ENT diagnosed it as Muscular dysphonia. He is seeing a speech therapist, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. He plays Sax in the band at school and can't get enough air out to play. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn So you say you had an ekg while you were in the middle of an episode of heavy chest pain? If so then a holter would likely not tell the doctor much more. The lightheadedness could be a sign of low bp. Do you know what it is when you are having the chest pressure?
Avatar n tn However, you do not test positive to the living virus so you were exposed but not infected. You should jump up and down with glee now.
Avatar f tn It could be due to varied causes like upper respiratory tract infection like laryngitis or pharyingitis, head and neck cancer, oral cancer, reflux laryngitis in people who have acidity and GERD, muscle abnormality, voice box abnormality, polyps, tumors or weakness of voice box etc. Hope this helps. Avatar f tn Flexeril or cyclobenzaprine or baclofen are not associated with hoarseness of voice. More plausible causes of hoarseness of voice need to be checked like acute laryngitis, vocal cord nodules, allergies, gastro esophageal reflux, smoking, thyroid problems, trauma to larynx, parkinson’s disease and trauma to larynx. Consult an otolaryngologist who will evaluate the causes and treat likewise. Cough suppressants for laryngitis, treat GERD, stop smoking, vocal rest etc will make a difference.
Avatar f tn If someone should have an active cold sore on their lip and touches their runny nose while out on a cold day skiing then uses a pen to write and you use the pen just a minute or less after them, what's the likelihood of getting HSV-1. Does it lives in nasal mucus and saliva? Just to caveat this person with the lesion on their mouth did not wash their hands before using the pen and then the pen was used by another within a minute or two.
1208118 tn?1265877425 Hi, I often have an episode of concern. The symptoms start with my whole body experianicing a cold sweat, but not actually sweating. Then I become very weak and light headed. Finally, My whole body starts to shake with a slight feeling of numbness. The episode reminds me a little like having gas at the dentist before passing out. I cannot function at all and it feels as though I'm fighting to remain conscious.
