I have done allergy testing, tests to rule out relfux, seen ENT, pulmonlogist, & family dr multiple times with not much success. No one can tell me why I got better last time, or why I am dealing with the same situation again.

Within the past year, my 72-year-old wife has undergone two gastroscopy procedures. After the first, she had no ill effects, but following the second in November 2007, she almost immediately developed respiratory problems -- a hoarse voice, a deep and persistent cough, shortness of breath, and some bloody discharges through the nose.

For the past year I have experienced a tickling sensation in my chest on and off, especially when breathing cold air, also a tight feeling occassionaly when I walk outside especially in cold air. Until seven weeks ago, I smoked for 25 yrs (pack/day). I have had a dry cough for about 5 yrs, mostly at night and eventually in the morning also. No breathlessnes but always hoarse and clearing my throat. I have hiatal hernia. in 2002 I had PFT tests done at Mayo Clinic in 2002. FVC 107%, FEV1 93% FEV1/FVC 71.4. DLCO 77% adj. Methacholine caused 28% decline in FEV1. Post BD FEV1 2.08 (73%). At Mayo endoscopy also diagnosed allergic rhinitis and significant chronic laryngitis.
Symptoms can include a headache or pressure in the area of the sinuses, a stuffy nose, achy teeth, an odor coming from the nose, postnasal drip, cough, sore throat, laryngitis, lightheadedness, constant low fever, and thick, yellow to green nasal drainage. This inflammation can block sinus drainage and cause a stuffy nose. Typically this is worse at night when you lay down to sleep. Generally this congestion feels the worst when you wake up and gets better as the day goes on.
I wake up in the middle of the night with a dry cough from it..but then it progresses to constant coughing. Today was the worst - I have coughed harder than when I had bronchitis over 6 yrs ago. This is driving me crazy! I will not go to the doctor, so I am going to ask the pharmacist about it. Maybe musenex or something will help.
After a lobectomy May 5 (LUL cancer, never smoked), I got a persistent, dry cough. It's exhausting, and now sometimes nauseating, my chest & throat hurt. The docs don't know why. I've had silent GERD for the past-4 years. (gave me severe laryngitis for 4 months until I took double PPI (Rabeprazole 2x20mg), which controlled it.

As soon as I put my head down, the invisible post-nasal drip just tickles, tickles, tickles. Unstoppable. dry cough. I never had allegies in my life. I am 51. I am desperate. Don't really know, neither does any of my doctors, what exactly causes it. Anybody with ideas?
For the last 4 weeks or so I have had a dry cough, to the point of irritating my throat and causing my voice to disappear. in the morning I cough up phlegm, but throughout the day it seems like a hacking cough that produces phlegm just into my throat. This phlegm is a white to light yellow, I also have what feels like mucus running down the back of my throat from my nose which is constantly running, and stuffy.
Most of the time the cough is dry, but then sometime I will cough up mucous. I cant stand it. When I cough my eye tears up, turns red and I look like im having some sort of bronchial attack. Last night I had several episodes I woke up repeatedly coughing my throat was dry then I took sips of water, which didnt seem to relieve it. The problem with this is that some time it makes my stomach hurt, I feel achy and nausea sometimes happens.
Three or four days after open heart surgery (AVR) in March, I began what was initially a persistent, dry cough. After a couple more days, I wondered if the inspirometer had become contaminated (it was about the right number of days to have symptoms after the first time I used it). my capacity was fine, 2000 ml, so I gave it up. Somewhere in there, probably during the next week, I noticed difficulty getting my breath, and that is still the case after four months.
After 43 days I went for EIA antibody test and result was Non reactive. Through out winter I was suffering from severe dry cough. I recovered from it just 1 month before. Till then I am suffering from minor laryngitis. I never had fever in the mean time. my questions: How accurate 43 days EIA antibody test result? Long lasting laryngitis for such a long period, is it a symptom of ARS? After completing 90 days mark I will go for another HIV test.

my throat doesn't get sore anything but it gets real dry. It almost feels like, and this is gonna sound gross but I don't know how else to describe it, there is hardened snot in my throat. When I eat something or drink something warm it kind of breaks up a little and I can cough some of it up but it's not phlegm. It's like a real hardened snot kind if like the consistency of a just moistened corn flake. I know that's gross but would could be causing this?

BP medication (lotrel & nadolol) was cause of dry cough many years ago, but now is back and I must keep water with me or get coughing attacks. When I get excited like at football games or loud parties my throat seems to tighten up and my voice is altered to very low like laryngitis until I settle down and its over. At night I seem to have to clear my throat alot if I don't constantly drink water.
I lose my voice almost every day (I am a teacher so I do use my voice a lot). I have this dry cough that just does not quit. I have a little shortness of breathe. I do have asthma but the inhaler does nothing for me with these symptoms. Now my right shoulder, mid back & area under my right rib cage ache not pain just ache. Of course, this could be from this never ending cough. I have never been a smoker.
my cough was my main thing i noticed usually coming in the morning or night. With mucus and mostly a dry cough. I sometimes spit white phlegm now it looks to me. I feel fine now but these symptoms and my unprotected sex has been in back of my mind for a while now and ive been stressing like crazy. What do you think? Ive looked up laryngitis because that friday and saturday night i did drink alot of alcohol.
Since about 2 weeks later, I started having a persistent, dry cough. I've been trying to figure out why, and what's triggering it. First, I thought it was movement (walking too fast) and cold air, and walking too fast still does trigger it. However, there are other times I start coughing when I'm just sitting there, at my laptop (eg).
I have been taking Advair for many years now, and I believe it is affecting my vocal chords. I am a singer, and I always have to clear my throat, and am always raspy. Does advair dry out vocal chords? Is there a better option that can help me breathe, but also still sing?
fever 102, cough with some phlegm, chest tightness, lungs clear, laryngitis. my fever is gone, but the dry cough remains with some phlegm. I'm nervous that this will suddenly become worse and I will not be able to breath. What treatment should I be receiving? How can the docs. tell if this is bacterial or viral? What type of doctor should I see? I am a 49 year old female. Also, why do I get this every few months?
