Common Questions and Answers about Laryngitis bronchitis remedy

laryngitis

Avatar n tn There are several things this can be. The first is bronchitis or pneumonia. Your doctor can tell you what is going on for sure and get you the proper treatment. Take care.
Avatar f tn One ounce of Magnesium Chloride flakes (Pharmaceutical grade) per one liter of spring water, sipped very slowly throughout the entire day. Repeat for 3-4 days. Your symptoms indicate a viral or bacterial infection and are consistent with bronchiestasis. If it is viral, no medicine can help, once the virus has replicated. If bacterial, amoxicillin is the antibiotic of choice for bronchiectasis. You may want to consider Breathing Exercises for Bronchiectasis.
Avatar n tn It is usually not the drug of choice for UTI but is mostly used in otitis media (infection of the middle ear), tonsillitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn Is this from the Acid Reflux or from the Bronchitis. Is it Bronchitis (or Laryngitis) that comes up for me periodically or is it the Reflux? I've not been smoking for several months now, but I did have a few cigarettes this past week, and I also had a few beers. Finally, I had some Sushi tonight as well. Any suggestions?

Avatar n tn After about a month, I went to see my PCP which told me I had bronchitis and laryngitis. She put me on Amoxicilian, Claritin, tessalon pearl (for the cough) and albuterol inhaler. After finishing all my antibiotic, continuing claritin, tessalon pearl (as needed) and inhaler, I started to feel better. Once again, the cough is back, runny nose, and no voice. Will I EVER talk again? Have I done too much damage to recover from this? And why do I continue to get sick? PLEASE HELP!
Avatar f tn I have had a chest, sinus cold going on four weeks now with intermittent laryngitis. I have been on a course of Levaquin 2 weeks ago and am still sick. Prior to this cold I had another cold and was on a Z pac, can't seem to get any better... Never had a fever, just productive cough raising green phlegm.. Should I be working about my immune system at this point?
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, there may be acute bronchitis with or without laryngitis. Acute bronchitis usually presents with sputum (mucus), coughing and can also present with wheezing esp. when the small bronchioles are involved. Associated gastro esophageal reflex disease can worsen the condition. You need to send the mucus or throat swab for culture, microscopy, staining to rule out the pathogen.
Avatar m tn There is NO home remedy that I know of. The physician didn't prescribe an inhaler as well?
Avatar f tn Now I have post nasal drip and my laryngitis is still there although getting better. I have done everything for the laryngitis, steam, cool mist humidifier, room temperature water (about twelve 8oz glasses a day), resting my voice. It is getting better very slowly. Now I have a post nasal drip and I am coughing up greenish/yellowish sputum but it's from the back of my throat not my lungs anymore. I am going to try a nasal rinse today.
1519309 tn?1290956580 Hi, welcome to the forum, your symptoms suggests involvement of sinuses, lungs or it can be due to acid reflux. There may be underlying bronchial asthma or bronchitis. Bronchitis usually presents with sputum (mucus), symptoms can be worsened by chest infections. A test with bronchodilators for 2-3 weeks will be useful to relieve the symptoms. Other possibilities are central airway obstruction, parenchymal pulmonary disease, gastro esophageal reflux etc.
556467 tn?1225377691 Last year I was constantly getting upper respiratory infections, laryngitis, bronchitis and pneumonia. There was a period of 6 months that I was constantly on antibiotics and steroids. My ENT did allergy testing (normal), CT scan of nasal cavity (normal) and several scopes to look at my vocal cords which were inflamed. Finally he told me that he felt that I needed to have my Lingual Tonsils removed.
Avatar f tn I orginally went to the Dr for dry cough and laryngitis. Was told I had bronchitis and was given antibiotics (bactrim). A week and a half later, I felt somewhat better. Suddenly two days later, I didnt go to the dr this time, I had sinus drainage hard core. My ears were popping every few seconds, head would pound with movement, and overall just a raw feeling in my throat. I got over that in about 5 days on my own...yay. But then got an allergic reaction of hives and swollen hands and fingers.
Avatar f tn I hear you with the cough. I'm getting over bronchitis and at this point I should buy stock in cough drops! If you haven't tried it hot tea with honey and lemon is a good natural remedy. Feel better soon!
Avatar f tn Okay, since 1992 I have had lots of throat infections in 1995 I had my tonsils and adanoids removed to help however it never did. And still had aleast 7 throat infections and laryngitis a year but since January this year I have had 20suvere throat infections all with laryngitis.
Avatar n tn However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed. She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.
Avatar m tn Sounds like maybe some mild bronchitis. If you spike a fever (>100.3F) go see a dr. Green mucus It can be an indication of a bacterial infection. Especially if the green nasal mucus is accompanied by fever and pain and it has been experienced for several days. A bacterial infection under those circumstances should be treated by a physician who would probably recommend an antibiotic. Otherwise the infection could linger on for days or weeks.
209987 tn?1451935465 Youngest son and I both have bronchitis...that's what you get for kissing your kids I guess. lol Anyway, I can't take the garlic pills as I have issues with it. I have a bottle of Eucalyptus essential oil, but not sure of how to use it safely. Should I fill the sink with hot water and add a few drops? I was told that it could seriously harm my little guy. Oldest son picked me up a bottle of expectorant, but I have high blood pressure...so no go.
372416 tn?1242665752 I read that lung illnesses are very common right after detox. Well, I had my first about 3 weeks after detox. Then 2nd only shortly after. In March I went to doc for sinus infection which gives a throat drip. He gave me amoxcillin & Prehist D. It worked good. Now, April, here I go again. I got another bottle of amoxcillin & Prehist today. It's gotten so bad that I now have laryngitis, that never went away since March.
Avatar m tn I recently got over a bad case of bronchitis so bad I went to the ER. And now I am left with what seems like post nasal drip but does not really make sense. We thought laryngitis but it has not reacted like it would it has been going on for over 3 weeks. Below is the latest idea I had on the cause of this if anyone could help with it I would be grateful. And would the z-pack be effective if this from the huge hole in my tooth that food gets stuck in. It is an upper tooth.
