whick brings me to another point.... I have had bronchitis, laryngitis, mono, and strep throat all within the past year. I really don't know what's going on with my body. I've been to the doctor a lot and im getting ultrasound results tomorrow...I'm just hoping to find any proffessional answers.. I get bad verta vego attacks to. Im still getting rib and back pain.

no heartburn, no nausea, no bloating, no vomiting, able to eat large meals. Cause of the GP my go back to stomach surgery that I had 50 years ago, where the vagus nerve was cut, resulting today in lessened motility. Gastroenterologists are at a loss to ellucidate this laryngetic condition, ascribing it to GERD or a form of GERD called L.P.R. ( laryngopharyngeal reflux). Would Iberoblast or Doperamide help ? I have tried Protonix, a PPI, with no help.

Hello. I've been having digestive symptoms of increasing severity for about two years, now. At first, I thought it was due to my chronic sinusitis. Basically, I have incessant postnasal drip -- Probably related to laryngeal reflux -- and I was thinking it was THAT causing me to vomit. To be sure, it plays a part, but over the past month or two it's become QUITE obvious that the GI symptoms are independent from (Or at least only exacerbated by) the sinus/lung/LPRD issues.

Been on Nexium for about 6 months now with some relief but recently new symptoms. Choking sensation just above collarbone level, burning in upper chest and under arms, pain in middle of chest and between shoulder blades, with tingling in arms and legs, and sometimes pain up front of neck and in lower jaw, kind of like a toothache. Also have a lot of burping and gas, intermittent diarrhea, and nausea. Also get palpitations when this is going on and feel weak.

I am a 37 year old male who recently got married (may 2007) and in August 2007 we found out we were having a baby. In the meantime, I was going to school and trying to maintain a 4.0 average, working on a house (that ended up falling through) and working 40 hours a week. I swore my throat was closing up on me.

Hi, This is my first post. I am an otherwise healthy 32 year old male, but frustrated by this recent baffling problem. For the last 2-3 weeks, I've had mild sinus congestion & pressure, along with strange "flu-like" body aches, weakness & fatigue. I have no fever or night sweats, and nasal mucous is clear. I do get a lot of allergies, but never these "flu-like" symptoms.

Until just recently i have referred to this feeling as nausea because it always makes me feel like i need to gag an sometimes almost vomit. Due to this i have had many GI tests done with all clean negative results. I also seemed to notice that this feeling gets worse if i lay in an inclined position such as a dentists chair. This feeling seems to be completely unrelated to anything i do.

This is not a symptom of ARS and I have never seen it. ARS symptoms mimic those of a bad flu- muscle aches/pains, extreme fatigue, fever, nausea and/or vomiting, diarrhea, etc. Coughing, runny nose, a sore throat and stuffy nose are typical cold symptoms. There is a big difference. Stop researching symptoms because you will only drive yourself crazy and make yourself worry even more! Try to relax and stay off the internet.

He had lost his voice and after many tests they determined he had a enlarged lymph node that was pressing on his laryngeal nerve. After numerous tests they found that he had lung cancer no tumors in his lungs. The lymph node was envaded with cancer cells. They staged it as a stage iv because it had metastisized into his abdomen. He is now taking chemo treatments and radiation and after this next radiation treatment they are going to up the dose of chemo.

Hi The symptoms appear to be more in favor of laryngitis or voice box infection. You can try warm saline gargles. You must consult an ENT specialist for this. Voice rest, plenty of hot fluids like warm lemonade, soups etc and a course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatories should help. Hope this helps. I have been diagnosed with CBGD. But I have autonomic system symptoms, too---nausea, some vomiting, low blood pressure causes dizziness, some respiratory/breathing problems and weakness. Should ask my doctors to look into the possibility of MSA? Thank you.

Initially it was thought to be severe laryngitis, but it was found that the thyroid was enlarged and was compressing her windpipe making breathing hard. A full thyroidectomy was done followed by a tracheotomy because her airway was still small due to inflammation. The pathology reports post-surgery examination of the thyroid tissue that was removed confirmed papillary.

Oddly enough, I also have the exact same symptoms of heartburn and pain/nausea type feelings at the top of my stomach. I have horrible seasonal allergies, and while I can't say for sure that all of these symptoms come from that, it certainly is a likely culprit.

i am a 54yo female with history of thyroid disorders on both sides of family. About two months ago I had bacterial laryngitis along with a cold. I was not diagnosed by a doctor but rather, my pharmacist stated that since I had been without my voice for more than 7 days, then it was probably bacterial. I began taking Keflex for about 3 days upon which I regained my voice. Since then I have been experiancing alot of nasal drip to my throat. Also , you may want to ask whether the doctor you are choosing is using the nerve monitoring device - it is a special tube , either Endotracheal tube-based EMG monitoring, used for prevention of injuring laryngeal nerves which are very small in diameter, and in consequence relatively easy to injure by traction , or Dedicated EMG endotracheal tube(used by Anesthesiologist) It is a standards of care to use it , but not all surgeons are comfortable with it and not all use it.

Hi, I am trying to decide if I should go forward with the Nissen Fundiplication surgery for laryngitis gerd. I am 41, female and in good health. I have had LGERD symptoms of hoarse voice, sore throat and an inability to clear my throat for 10+ years. I don't have any heartburn symptoms. None of the medications have helped. Protonix used to help but I am now on 2 a day with mo relief. I have had all the tests and my GI (2 opinions) say that surgery is the last try for me.

But my symptoms not gettn any better!!! I don't have any of those symptoms I can swallow fine and no hoarseness of laryngitis! It's the regurgitation, constant that I have sometimes it feels like I am swallowing knives! Then the pain in my back between my shoulder blades only everyonce in a while!!
