I just finished taking Azithromycin yesterday for what must of been a bacterial infection of my sinuses and lungs. It started as a cold. The cold went away but I was experiencing shortness of breath and post nasal drip that just wasn't subsiding. I went to two doctors. The first doctor prescribed a corticosteroid nasal spray (Omnaris). This helped a bit for the post nasal drip but wasn't addressing the shortness of breath or chronic cough that wasn't going away on its own.
my voice has change I get hoarse after I talk a lot. I just got over ON and my eye dr thought I had glaucoma? I had a lot of pain in my eye. he took me next door and put 5 holes in my eye to releases the pressure . it was better? but he still cant give me a answer to what it is. I had ON in 09 and it was the same thing I told him that.but he still had no answer? well its still a little blurry but its a lot better. it lasted a lot longer.
this makes the 3rd time since my surgery that I have been sick for a week straight with a high fever. I was pretty healthy before and other then the occasional cold, rarely got sick. Has anyone else who has had a TT found that their immune system is not what it once was. Any tips, or suggestions on boosting my immune system?
I'm 24 weeks and I have a bad cold and cough. What medicine was ok for u to take or have u taken while pregnant that will not hurt the baby?????

I have pain on my left side of my neck and tenderness on that side when I swallow. Dr checked me out and said throat is not red and gave me pills for acid reflux. It's been 4 days and don't think its acid reflux....voice and neck still the same. Anyone know what it could be ??

Had what I thought was a cold but has not progressed from the sore throat/laryngitis phase. Now not sure if it's that or something more serious. I do have a growth on the left side of my throat near my tonsil--it has been there for four years and has been checked out several times.
Next day I got mouth infection ( just soar throat no fever no flu symptoms) and doctor (ENT) suggested some antibiotics, after which I was feeling OK in a day. I thought it was a strep and asked for a swab test. Couple days later doctor confirmed its nothing. I had tonsillitis (swollen tonsils) before I had sex with her. Later I took the girl to the blood test for which she was tested positve for HSV1 and she was having cold sores on her face. she was tested negative for HSV2.
Wow Doc, you totally blew that one out of proportion; way to freak the poor girl out. I know what she's talking about; the itchiness from healing tissues that have been damaged from a bout of laryngitis or rhinovirus. Just like a scab becomes pruritic as tissue is regrown, the same sensation can occur in the esophagus, trachea and larynx.
Your symptoms could be due to a post nasal drip, which can cause a chronic irritation in the throat. This could be due to a sinus infection, a cold or a chronic allergy. It could be sinusitis, if it is accompanied by nasal stuffiness and facial pain or pressure. Post nasal drip could also be due to allergens. These are substances like pollen, dust, animal dander, certain foods, insect venoms and certain medications.
Okay, since 1992 I have had lots of throat infections in 1995 I had my tonsils and adanoids removed to help however it never did. And still had aleast 7 throat infections and laryngitis a year but since January this year I have had 20suvere throat infections all with laryngitis.
However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed.
She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.
During vaginal sex the condom came out. Though the girl said she was tested few days back and it was negative, its not reliable.

I Remember getting chills like bein hot and cold this happend one day or two days and chills never came back. I had a headache one night and thats it. My cough was my main thing i noticed usually coming in the morning or night. With mucus and mostly a dry cough. I sometimes spit white phlegm now it looks to me. I experienced congestion, cough, and laryngitis a day or two after exposure to large amounts of hay and agricultural lime. Taking this into consideration, I'm a bit skeptical as to whether or not it was a cold or just an alergic reaction. The symptoms have drastically decreased. My nose is still half-way stuffy, and I'm still spitting up white phlegm, but it's more of an annoyance now than anything else. Some people I've talked to think that it's post-nasal drip.
I have been suffering from laryngitis for over 3 months and taking medication for the last 2 months. When I consulted a doctor a couple of weeks ago, he did a stroboscopy and said that it could be due to acid reflux; he prescribed "Pantadoc". I took that for a couple of weeks and did not obsserve any difference.
It’s been a week already and I’ve been taking steroids, ibuprofen and Benadryl at the same time. Today I forgot for a second I don’t have a voice when I woke up this morning. And when I said a word by accident, I heard my voice and realized there was no improvement.
I’m so scared I’ll never get my voice back. My voice has never been gone for this long. Has anyone else been through this and actually recovered by getting their voice back? I’m just really scared it will never come back.
I had a partial thyroidectomy nine months ago, needed to remove a large tumor and thankfully it was non-cancerous. The surgery and recovery went smoothly, nothing out of the ordinary. However I have been sick a few times since then and every time the virus turns straight into terrible laryngitis. Before the surgery I very rarely ever got laryngitis but now it comes on so easily and lasts for a while. Is there any reason that this would be connected to my thyroid surgery?
3 days later laryngitis is getting better but now I got a small fever. My usual daily temperature is between 97.9 and 98.6 (with average being 98.2-98.4)
On the 13th day my temperature is somewhere between 99.2 and 99.8 for about 3 hours since I woke up.
Here are my questions:
1. what are my risks for the following:
a. HIV
b. Syphilis
c. Herpes
d. Chlamydia
e. Gonorrhea
f. HPV
2. Can my sore throat be an indicator of any of the above?

My symptoms initially began as a cold with chest congestion, extreme throat pain, fatigue, and a fever for the first two days. Almost all of those symptoms went away within one week and now I'm left with the sore throat. I also have post nasal drip so I'm wondering if this is causing the pain. The pain seems to get worse in the evening or in cold temperatures. It hurts to talk also.
