When is your next doctors appointment?

Avatar f tn Hello, Ovarian cysts mostly are not treated during pregnancy unless they’re large enough to cause pregnancy complications. Large ovarian cysts measuring 6 centimeters or more are removed surgically preferably during the second trimester and that too through laparoscopic surgery. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.

Avatar f tn It is very common to have ovarian cysts during the first trimester and some even go until after the birth of your child. Most cysts do not cause harm to the baby or pregnancy, and almost 100% of women with an ovarian cyst can go on to having a full term pregnancy and healthy baby.
Avatar f tn Due to an irregular cycle my doctor sent me along for a dating scan yesterday. During the scan they found two cysts on my right ovary measuring around 5cm... she didnt seem too worried but my doctor has since called to ask me to come and see her regarding the scans.. I do get a bit of occasional pain on my right hand side from time to time but nothing too serious. Just wondering if anyone else has had cysts during their pregnancy and what it meant for you? Thanks!
Avatar f tn At around 7 weeks the doctor discovered a large ovarian cyst during an ultrasound. The cyst has been monitored and has grown significantly and we have scheduled surgery to remove it for two weeks from now. The doctor says the cyst appears to be septated and blood-filled. It is currently about 10cm. Please Please tell me what the chances are that it could be malignant. I'm so worried. Thank You.
Avatar f tn Good afternoon. I just stumbled across this site after googling ‘ovarian cysts‘. I wondered if anyone out there has ever been in my (worrying) situation. I am 27 years old, a mummy to a beautiful 2 year old and 12 weeks pregnant with my second baby. I had an emergency scan around 6 weeks into this pregnancy due to pain on my right side. My GP feared an ectopic pregnancy. To my relief baby was fine. However, an 8cm side was found on my right ovary with a daughter cyst inside.
Avatar f tn Follicle cysts. These cysts form when the sac doesn't break open to release the egg. Then the sac keeps growing. This type of cyst most often goes away in 1 to 3 months. Corpus luteum cysts. These cysts form if the sac doesn't dissolve. Instead, the sac seals off after the egg is released. Then fluid builds up inside. Most of these cysts go away after a few weeks. They can grow to almost 4 inches. They may bleed or twist the ovary and cause pain. They are rarely cancerous.

Avatar f tn Have you had another ultrasound to see if the hormones shrunk the cyst? I have read that they typically don't remove ovarian cysts until they are over 7cm. The concern is if they get too large, they can cause the ovary to twist on itself (ovarian torsion) which can cause the ovary to die. However, you have the risk of losing the ovary with surgery too.
564029 tn?1216423219 There are different types of cysts, you can go to the link on the top of this page on the right that says health forum, and there is a list for all types of ovarian cysts. Did your dr. tell you what kind of cyst you have? Have you had a TV/US? During your reproductive years it is very common to get functional ovarian cysts that can disappear after a few menstrual cycles. Could it be your doctor is doing a watchful waiting to see if they go away? How long have you had the cyst?
Avatar f tn When the follicles are forming small cysts may be present in the normal ovary. These ovarian cysts which start during the normal function of menstrual cycle are called functional cysts which are of two types follicular cyst and corpus luteal cyst. Most of these cysts are harmless and disappear over a period of time. They are usually asymptomatic. In few patients cysts may cause menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain. In such cases medical help should be sought.
Avatar n tn I just had surgery last Tuesday for a very large ovarian cyst. I did have alot of pain the last two weeks prior to my surgery, but I didn't have alot of specific pain prior to that. I didn't even know that I had an ovarian cyst. I had bladder problems, urinary tract infections, and pain in my upper thigh/groin, but no noticeable lump or specific pain. I had a pap and pelvic in September, and both were normal. The pain on the pelvic exam was normal (small).
Avatar n tn Well first I am sorry to hear about the situation. However ovarian cysts are very common, they can get extremely large; some causing pain and some that are cause no problems. Most women have cysts and never even know it. The reason for the hysterectomy is due to the HIGH risk of female cancers the metastasize to the uterus, endometrium and cervix that then in turn can follow to the peritoneal cavitiy and so on and so forth.
Avatar m tn Each case has to be looked at separately. If your doctor says your risk is that high then having it removed sooner rather than later is the best thing for you. I know there have been quite a few other women that have come through here who have had cysts successfully removed during their pregnancy. I can't imagine how hard this must be for you now. Good luck and I hope all goes well.
Avatar f tn 1) The paratubal cyst is unrelated to the ovarian cysts, and is something that you were probably born with but which enlarged at some point for reasons that we do not understand 2) Regarding your ovarian cysts, what was the pathology? If they were follicle or corpus luteum cysts, then these are what we call 'physiologic' cysts. Physiologic cysts develop in women every month as the egg matures and is released, and usually are not greater than 25 mm (about one inch) in diameter.
Avatar f tn Even a faint 1st line means a positive test result. Ovarian cysts can be triggered by a spike in hormones, usually during ovulation. However, not to scare you, ecoptic pregnancy pains closly resemble ovarian cyst pain in the beginning. Please go see your obgyn to test for pregnancy and tell them about your pain. Good luck!!
Avatar n tn I think possibliy you mean ovarian cysts instead of ovarian fibriods as fibriods are assoicated with the Uterus and ovarian cysts are associated with the ovaries.
