Avatar n tn I take Lansoprazole, but i don't feel it is working well. However, i want to know. Would masturbation affect my medication because it seems like that as I get a sulfur burp after masturbation? I don't eat well and lost weight. Do i have to stop my sexual needs masturbation or having sex with my girlfriend? Please, tell me what it is my illness.
Avatar m tn If you take one in the AM one day and PM the next day, it will lead to rebound reflux that you described. Third, when you wean it off, you need to wean it off slowly. Take Prevacid as example, if you start from 30mg qd, then step 2 is 30mg odd days and 15mg even days, step 3 is 15mg per day, step 4 is 15mg odd days and Zantac even days, step 5 is Zantac every day, step 6 is Zantac odd days and antacid even days, step 7 is antacid every day, step 8 is antacid as needed.
Avatar f tn Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Take a late night snack and eat supper early. Avoid lying down for least 2 hours after main food, dinner or supper. Take care!
Avatar f tn Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?
605877 tn?1301700646 last night I forgot to take my tablet and remembered to take it this morning. however, i feel worse today than i did before. pain in chest, taste of bile in my mouth, my tongue has gone very red at the front tip and a lot of saliva unusually and a burning sensation in my oesophagus. can missing one tablet cause all this?!!! is it usual when you stop to fee worse before you feel better? i need some advice. how long does it take for the tablets to work, i have supply for another month?
Avatar f tn Is loss of appetite a common symptom of GERD. I have recently been put on Lansoprazole by my GP as a first step towards diagnosis of possible GERD (all my simptoms fit); however, it is not the medication that is causing my loss of appetite because this is one of the first things I noticed a few weeks ago, along with the other symptoms. It is unusual for me to lose my appetite. I am feeling hungry later on in the afternoon but am eating nowhere near what I used to.
Avatar f tn She has reflux and has been on lansoprazole solutabs. Prior to the medicine she would choke and gag on food. Now she will only take 1-2 bites of stage 3 baby food or pasta then closes her mouth and refuses anymore. She eats only 1 stage 2 baby food a day, and usually doesn't finish it. She just doesn't seem intereted in food. She also will not put anything in her own mouth. She is 27 inches and weighs 22 lbs.
Avatar m tn This had a bad effect socially and at work, when I would keep a low profile and reduce the occasions when I would need to talk. I had 3 operations in the first 5 years without success (it just came back) but a breakthrough came 4 years ago when my ENT specialist put me on lansoprazole, a PPI, believing that it was probably due to acid reflux (although I had no symptoms). The granuloma disappeared over the next 6 months.
Avatar m tn Turns out that the black may have been pepto or undigested vegetables, who knows. The doctor decided to up my Lansoprazole dosage to 30mg twice daily (which matches what comes with the triple therapy treatment) to combat the recurrence of burning in the stomach. Somewhere during this time the hunger after eating stopped and I was just having random abdominal pains on both left and right sides just at the bottom of my ribs.
Avatar m tn So she went to the doctors and prescribed Lansoprazole. About a week and a half after the Lansoprazole was prescribed she started to shake. And for about a half a week now its been getting worse and worse. Now she is also having trouble seeing, and is experiencing ear ache's and headaches. While she is still shaking. What could be the issue?
Avatar m tn Went back to the doctor, who told me I probably wouldnt want an endoscopy and put my on LANSOPRAZOLE to block acid. I still get these weird spasms. I'm kind of troubled they didnt bother to do an endoscopy. Could this be a serious problem, should I change doctors? He did take a chest xray of the gas in my body and said it all looked normal ( no odd shapes ) uhmm I guess he is the best doctor in town.
Avatar n tn Treatment is a combination of drugs to reduce the acid and lifestyle changes. You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried.
Avatar f tn I do have to take lansoprazole for the rest of my life, i started taking it while i was taking diclophenic' years ago. even though i no longer take diclophenic my body has grown acustom to Lansoprazole. if i don't take one every day i get raging heartburn. do you think that there could be a connection?
Avatar m tn However after i continued to take the medication the symptoms returned, i was told by several people that continuing to take lansoprazole unnecessarily can lead to gastritis attacks due to having to lower amount of stomach acid. after this i stopped taking my medicine and was back to 100% - i had a few nights out drinking, back to a normal proper diet and was fine. No nausea, no reflux, no gagging and no panicking.
Avatar f tn ) and my back aches when I take a breath. Went to the doc and he definately thinks its due to reflux and was given Omeprazole 20mg once a day, I have been on that for 6 days now, still no heartburn (as normal) but breathing is no better, sometimes slightly worse and cough has got worse. I have been eating all the right things for a week now and the laboured breathing is making me so upset, I cant enjoy anything its there constantly.
Avatar n tn , and the kidney/liver function test came back with a very high bilirubin count. I am finding it very difficult to work at the moment, and have been told that it could take a couple of weeks before I can get a second bilirubin count. Swine flu has recently hit this area pretty hard, so all the doctors are pretty swamped, so I can understand this. However, I am very much in the dark. My question is mainly, do these test results support the H. Pylori diagnosis?
Avatar f tn Perhaps someone else is acquainted with this use. But if you are uncomfortable with a medication I would ask your doctor to talk to you more about its use and what possible side effects it might have.
Avatar m tn these past few days i have a frequent urination with urgent it like after i urinate with long pee after few minutes i feel i need to urinate but the next pee is already a few drops and most common time that need to frequent urination is at afternoon to night time. the medicne i was taking right now is prevacid (lansoprazole) motilium and aleva ebastine i dont now if that is the reason of it that cause frequent urination and i have no pain at all in urination and i can sleep easily.
Avatar f tn d talk to your health professional about medications, including when to take them, how to take them and follow directions exactly. in my case, PPI's worked perfectly for me for a long time, but I had an gastro-intestinal event that changed everything and PPI's no long worked, but surgery was needed and that was the answer.
Avatar f tn So I have GERD and regularly take PPIs (one 20 mg pill per day, I rotate between Omeprazole, Esomeprazole, and Lansoprazole because they seem to lose effectiveness after a while if I just stay on the same one indefinitely) but for the past several days I've had excessive gas and heartburn. I've stopped eating all spicy foods as a result but it so far hasn't helped. Is it safe to double my PPI dosage for a week or two to see if that helps me alleviate this issue?
Avatar m tn t had alcohol in a few years and started drinking again last summer then tended to binge drink, drinking craft beers every weekend for some months, this is when I first started to notice this sensation in mornings as I ate breakfast. I went to the doctor who imedietly suggested it could be an ulcer and prescribed me 30mg Lansoprazole, which I took for and immediately this sensation vanished no matter what I ate.
Avatar n tn Your HCG levels should be high enough to show up in a home pregnancy test at this point.
