I am bulemic. I was prescribed this today as there has been blood in my vomit the last couple of weeks, however I can't find anything on the web about it being used for this purpose. I had a bad experience on fluoxitine recently, so am very wary about any medication given to me now.
t know why they did this without addressing the cause, which seems to have been acid reflux. The lansoprazole worked but I have used Gaviscon in recent years. The problem comes back from time to time, like now, which is why I'm on this site! I'm hoping a resumption of lansoprazole will sort me out in the next few weeks. How are you now?
I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer back in February 2010.
History:
Prior to the diagnosis I had felt a strange pressure in my stomach occasionally which started around October 2009. I probably should have gone to the doctor when I was feeling the swelling/pressure but I thought it was just from being cramped into the Miata I had just purchased. I bought the car because some guy ran a red light and hit my previous car.
Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?
pylori after having a breath test done, and have been prescribed by my doctor - lansoprazole 30 mg - metronidazole 400 mg - amoxicillin 500 mg. All three medacation taken twice a day for a 7 day course.I am now into the 5 th day of taking them.There seems to be no side effects, the problems of bloating,discomfort (painfull at times) that comes and goes througout the day,has not eased at all.
If these combanation of tablets were going to work,would my symptons have eased by now ?.
m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others.
I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.

So she went to the doctors and prescribed Lansoprazole. About a week and a half after the Lansoprazole was prescribed she started to shake. And for about a half a week now its been getting worse and worse. Now she is also having trouble seeing, and is experiencing ear ache's and headaches. While she is still shaking. My mom was recently diagnosed with Hep C associated cirrhosis. She has had some complications, including esophageal varices and ascites. She remains fairly well compensated and does not exhibit symptoms such as fatigue or confusion.
During an endoscopy her doctor also noticed an ulcer and tested her for H pylori (which was positive). He's prescribed Prevpac to kill the bacteria and heal the ulcer.
I went to the doctor who imedietly suggested it could be an ulcer and prescribed me 30mg Lansoprazole, which I took for and immediately this sensation vanished no matter what I ate.
m 5ft 7. I have been taking the Proton Pump Inhibitor Drug Lansoprazole for my Hiatus Hernia/Acid Reflux for roughly 3 years now. I started with 30mg per day and the past year I had to up my dose to 60mg per day due to my severe acid reflux.
For the past 12 months I have been experiencing what can only be described as Fatigue, brain fog and exhaustion. It is the type that isn't helped by sleep, rest, or even suggested by my doctor, excercise. Infact the latter only makes it 10x worse.
At the beginning of Dec 11 I developed a really nasty cough. It became worse at night with me coughing so hard it made me vomit, my eyes & nose streaming at the same time. I would draw in a breath before coughing making a horrible noise - people who heard me said it sounded like whooping cough. I was feeling very unwell and not eating very much. After about 3 weeks this severe cough subsided a little but then I started to have these strange spasms in my throat at night.

s Wort also or Valerian for the anxiety. I am sorry that things are so bad for you right now. I hope and pray that you feel better soon. Saltine crackers usually help my nausea - because of the baking soda they contain. Please make sure you drink enough water so you don't get dehydrated. Again, I am so sorry you are so ill.
