I've been dealing with gerd issues for the last half year. Colonoscopy and endoscopy were negative. In December I started to develope numbness in my left foot and right hand. (Last night I noticed my left anke was swollen.

Problem is the doctors deny the side effects are associated with the medication. I'v tried it. They act like its all in my head. However, having been on PPI for years now I can assure you that I have ALL the side affe cts that you mention here. If I knew what else to take I woulod but with a hernia, and a govt that will only give operation's as a last resort I am stuck with it.

I was put on Esomeprazole 20 but i had very bad side effects especially dizziness and body weakness... I went back to the doctor who changed the medication to Lansoprazole 30mg but still i feel like there is no improvement on the dizziness and body weakness. I am also having heart palpitations which i think are from anxiety. Other side effects i am having include tingling sensation in arms and legs, chest tightness, headaches, sore throat and cough with sputum...

pylori after having a breath test done, and have been prescribed by my doctor - lansoprazole 30 mg - metronidazole 400 mg - amoxicillin 500 mg. All three medacation taken twice a day for a 7 day course.I am now into the 5 th day of taking them.There seems to be no side effects, the problems of bloating,discomfort (painfull at times) that comes and goes througout the day,has not eased at all. If these combanation of tablets were going to work,would my symptons have eased by now ?.

I was told a couple of years ago that i was getting the side effects of some stomach medication i was on (lansoprazole) and have since come off them. I am now having another episode of the symptoms above. I was searching the internet and found hypokalemia which seem to have similar symptoms. Does anyone know any more about this condition and/or whether they think i might have it.

This is not a side effect of Levothyroxine. What could be happening is the medication for thyroid may not be balancing the thyroid out correctly and throwing off other hormones causing this issue. My thought would be to ask for a full round of tests. Thyroid FT3 and FT4, FSH/LH - DHEA, A1C and your metobolic panel labs.

I understand that this is quite a high dose normally given under clinical supervision when someone is admitted to hospital with uncontrolled asthma. This treatment has a high risk of psychiatric side effects, you need to find a doctor who is up to date on the treatment and side effects. Search the archives on this forum, its got lots of good discussions and information. Good luck.

I started noticeing side effects at about 8pm, and they continued till this morning. I just attended a course on the triple treatment that includes Victrelis. The PA who ran the course said that I wasn't likely to develope any new side affect with Victrelis but that it is likely to intensify the side effects I am having with just the Interferon & Ribavirin. And, not only am I learning on this forum all about the treatment side effects, I am also learning about the post treatment, long term side effects. Frankly, that bothers me much more. I need more research on that. As far as you not taking any meds now and having the meds effect you more because of that ( I don't take any meds either expect for supplements that help my liver) my feeling is this. The fact that we don't take any meds means that we are pretty healthy.

Exact same side effects can effect two people totally different so it's really depends on the individual as to how they will react. For the most part, people tolerate treatment fairly well. It isn't easy, but we manage. I never really over think it. Just go with it and hope for the best.
