Avatar m tn m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others. I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.
Avatar f tn Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.
Avatar f tn Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?
Avatar f tn The information you all have provided here is greatly appreciated and not to mention very informative. I'm working on learning everything I can to help two people actually. They're a couple so it's very hard. But I know there are problems with addiction for both of them. I figure the more knowledge I have the more prepared I will be. I have one of them willing to talk to me tonight. He knows what I'm going to be talking about and I'm so surprised he said ok...
Avatar m tn I had 3 operations in the first 5 years without success (it just came back) but a breakthrough came 4 years ago when my ENT specialist put me on lansoprazole, a PPI, believing that it was probably due to acid reflux (although I had no symptoms). The granuloma disappeared over the next 6 months. However, it sometimes comes back, or at least the symptoms do, every few months, but go again after 2 or 3 weeks. But over the last week or so symptoms have come back with a vengeance.
605877 tn?1301700646 After no medicine for a month (was on lansoprazole) I have in the past week felt very very nauseous. Is AXID specifically for nausea or should I be on something else? In addition my bowel movement are in pieces, although usually all together they break very easily and are covered in a orange clear mucus. Is this related? This has been going on for 4 months. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Avatar m tn So when you take suppressant drugs it starts to produce more and more acid to do this, and your doctor will keep prescribing more and more drugs creating what's called rebound acidity. if you really had that problem you can fix it with gentler things, such as not eating soon before going to bed (lying down causes the acid to flow up rather than stay in the stomach digesting your food), and using some natural remedies that coat the stomach rather than suppress the acid.
Avatar m tn pylori after having a breath test done, and have been prescribed by my doctor - lansoprazole 30 mg - metronidazole 400 mg - amoxicillin 500 mg. 408795 tn?1324935675 Although not as specific, it contain much of the same information and is readily available to the patient and the doctor. This information label was given to me by my GI to read and discuss regarding issues related to anger and depression and the potential for needing an AD sometime during trt. I would hope all doctors discuss this prior to trt, but this may not be the case. I'm also curious what "psychological evaluations" are being done.
Avatar f tn I take ranitidine and recently switched from lansoprazole to pansoprazole after 1 year. For the past 4 years I've had short periods where I stutter, ranging from a few days to a few weeks. I really don't think it's a concern, but lately the period of normal speech has been less and less and my family is concerned. I just visited my pediatrician and didn't think to mention this. I don't have any neurological or psychological disorders, although I do have very bad anxiety.
Avatar f tn My doc prescribed me Lansoprazole gastro resistant as there has been blood in my vomit recently. Has anyone taken it or know anything about it?

Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer back in February 2010. History: Prior to the diagnosis I had felt a strange pressure in my stomach occasionally which started around October 2009. I probably should have gone to the doctor when I was feeling the swelling/pressure but I thought it was just from being cramped into the Miata I had just purchased. I bought the car because some guy ran a red light and hit my previous car.
Avatar f tn I think your local Pharmacist would have this information. If not they will probably get it for you. They are the true experts in medication and prescribing law and best of all their service is free. I hope you are able to find the answers.
