Avatar f tn I had called my family doctor once again because I feared Conner was suffering from both a Milk and Soy intolerance. My doctor finally refered me to a Pediatric GI and I had Conner seen that day. Everything went okay, it's better news than I had expected, but it's still news I was hoping I didn't get. One a good note, Conner is not allergic to soy(thank god). He does however have a severe Milk allergy that he may not outgrow.
Avatar f tn Well here I am again - a month on. GP still won't refer me to consultant! Has doubled the dose of Lansoprazole which has not made too much difference really. I have completely adjusted my diet having bought fantastic book "Dropping Acid - The Reflux Diet Cookbook & Cure". The coughing is less severe and I am not doing the sleep apnea thing now, which is an improvement. Throat is less sore and have been drinking aloe vera.
Avatar n tn Serious lansoprazole side effects You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience any one or a combination of the serious lansoprazole side effects. Serious lansoprazole side effects include skin irritation or rash, blistering skin, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat or eyes. Avatar m tn prescribed the triple therapy that consist of Lansoprazole, Clarithromycin, and Amoxicillin. The problem is that she told me to take only one pill of of Amoxicillin (500 mg) every 12 hours but its supposed to be two pills (1g) every 12 hours, and I already finished the cycle. Now I am very concerned because I know that this bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics. What should I do?, how long should I wait before I take another H. Pylori test?
Avatar m tn My husband was diagnosed with a condition called neurogenic cough. It has been described as a chronic cough where the nerve that provides sensation to the voicebox and is responsible for triggering the cough reflex has been injured, usually by a virus. When this happens, the nerve's level of sensitivity before it triggers the cough reflex becomes markedly reduced; in other words, it becomes hyper-sensitive.
Avatar f tn m 5ft 7. I have been taking the Proton Pump Inhibitor Drug Lansoprazole for my Hiatus Hernia/Acid Reflux for roughly 3 years now. I started with 30mg per day and the past year I had to up my dose to 60mg per day due to my severe acid reflux. For the past 12 months I have been experiencing what can only be described as Fatigue, brain fog and exhaustion. It is the type that isn't helped by sleep, rest, or even suggested by my doctor, excercise. Infact the latter only makes it 10x worse.
Avatar f tn Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?
Avatar m tn Hello! Can somebody tell me if there is a problem if someone had 1st dose of engerix B 1 ml (1 month ago) and now we can't find anymore to buy 2'nd dose IF it will take 2 pediatric dose (0.5ml each)? Thank you!
Avatar m tn Those are safe for him at 1/2 human adult dose. Simethicone (the active ingredient in gas-x) also comes in a pediatric form. If you get the pediatric form dose to effect. Hiccups are due to spasms of the diaphragm, however and getting rid of gas may not be effective, but it is worth a try.
Avatar m tn Pylori is 1000mg (1g) of Amoxicillin combined with 500mg of clarithromycin and PPI in your case Lansoprazole 30 mg - 2 times a day. Are you allergic to any drugs? For examples penicillins? then maybe your doctor meant to write metronidazole 500mg as there is another type of treatment for penicillin allergic patients which includes metronidazole 500mg + clarithromycin 500mg + PPI.
Avatar m tn I had 3 operations in the first 5 years without success (it just came back) but a breakthrough came 4 years ago when my ENT specialist put me on lansoprazole, a PPI, believing that it was probably due to acid reflux (although I had no symptoms). The granuloma disappeared over the next 6 months. However, it sometimes comes back, or at least the symptoms do, every few months, but go again after 2 or 3 weeks. But over the last week or so symptoms have come back with a vengeance.
Avatar m tn pylori after having a breath test done, and have been prescribed by my doctor - lansoprazole 30 mg - metronidazole 400 mg - amoxicillin 500 mg. All three medacation taken twice a day for a 7 day course.I am now into the 5 th day of taking them. There seems to be no side effects, the problems of bloating, discomfort (painfull at times) that comes and goes througout the day,has not eased at all. 605877 tn?1301700646 For the past month i have been taking Lansoprazole for symptoms of acid reflux. this was initially 30mg (15mg twice a day) for a week and then i reverted to 15mg per day. last night I forgot to take my tablet and remembered to take it this morning. however, i feel worse today than i did before. pain in chest, taste of bile in my mouth, my tongue has gone very red at the front tip and a lot of saliva unusually and a burning sensation in my oesophagus. can missing one tablet cause all this?!!!
Avatar f tn So I was given another two month dose of lansoprazole 30mg. Then last week I went on holiday so my normal diet of not much alcohol at all, low fat food (even though I can get away with the odd treat) went out the window, I was having foods I wouldnt normal have and more alcohol, and then 3 days into my holiday the breathing problem started again!
Avatar n tn Working with a pediatric endocrinologist. Tries to avoid using steroids with the kiddos and we are using metformin to treat. Had difficult time getting up to full dose because of tummy irritation but going from the generic brand to the name brand which has a coating on it seemed to do the trick. First bone scan was 8 yrs and 7 months. Now 10 months later we have progressed to 11 yrs on the bone age scan. What are treatment options to arrest the bone age from progressing so quickly?
Avatar m tn m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others. I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.
Avatar f tn My doc prescribed me Lansoprazole gastro resistant as there has been blood in my vomit recently. Has anyone taken it or know anything about it?

Avatar n tn My regular endo takes pediatric thyroid patients. Don't limit yourself to a pediatric endo - most of them are dealing with pediatric diabetes. Call and find a good thyroid specialist endo then talk to the nurse (a secret to getting around the receptionist) about your daughter's condition - that may get you in faster. Starting her on Synthroid isn't a bad idea now but she needs long-term followup with an endo.
Avatar m tn he has been on the max dose of digoxin for the last 8 or 9 months with little effect. his doctor has suggested doing a catheter ablation on him, given his wieght of over 15 kilos. the other consideration is the number of times he has been in the e.r and p.i.c.u and the heart rate of 250 bpm and higher when in svt. should we consider rfa at this time? Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer back in February 2010. History: Prior to the diagnosis I had felt a strange pressure in my stomach occasionally which started around October 2009. I probably should have gone to the doctor when I was feeling the swelling/pressure but I thought it was just from being cramped into the Miata I had just purchased. I bought the car because some guy ran a red light and hit my previous car.
Avatar f tn Beginning of the month I started being sick (throwing up part food part acid (I think)) my stomach pain has increased so I am on Codine for it. The Doctor have upped my dose of Lansoprazole and I am also on Ranitidine as well. Apart from the pain and being sick it hurts to eat food and after I have eaten also I am loosing my appetite too. My diet hasn't changed and not changed anything else.
605877 tn?1301700646 I was put on Lansoprazole on 26 Nov and my doctor put me on 30mg for a week and then said to reduce it to 15mg which i have done and taken for the last 2 weeks. however on Wednesday i missed a tablet and took it Thursday morning and carried on with my usual practise of taking my 15mg in the evening as prescribed by my doctor.

And for about a half a week now its been getting worse and worse. Now she is also having trouble seeing, and is experiencing ear ache's and headaches. While she is still shaking. What could be the issue?
