1854507 tn?1322631960 I visited my doctor and he said it was gastritis and gave me Lansoprazole but it made me very anxious so I stopped . I’m not so sure it’s gastritis as I don’t have any pain just bloating and heat and a tight feeling, could it be h pylori or something else ? ..please can someone knowledgeable in this field help as it would be most appreciated..
Avatar m tn I have taken omeprazole, esomaprazole, and i am currently taking lansoprazole 30mg. My question is do you think the breathlessness is caused by the gastritis or a side affect of the PPI's or something else? Thanks and by the way im in the USA.
Avatar m tn You should talk to your doctor again and see if he can tell you what the gastritis is caused by because if you don't have H pylori anymore then you shouldn't have gastritis. The treatment for gastritis depends on what is causing the gastritis. I have not had gastritis before. Here is what a website says about the treatment for gastritis: Over-the-counter antacids in liquid or tablet form are a common treatment for mild gastritis.
Avatar m tn Went to the doctors and was diagnosed with gastritis, i got given lansoprazole 30mg. This began to work quite quickly and within a week or two i felt somewhat better, however i noticed i was having severe near sickening nausea and what i later found out to be panic attacks while out. I returned to the doctors and was told it was anxiety, simply knowing what it was i found myself able to overcome it mostly, after this was almost back to normal and continued taking my medication.
Avatar f tn Gastroscopy showed h pylori gastritis and a presence of excess bile in the stomach. Triple therapy antibiotics prescribed (lansoprazole, amoxi and clarithromycin), he says he feels a lot better, but i'm worried sick. He says he still gets an ache but it comes and goes and is not constant, he says that certain foods seem to make him feel worse, am I right in believing you can eradicate the h pylori but the gastritis takes time to heal?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with gastritis 3 week ago.i was given a hpylori kit for 1 week but after the biopsy results came back i tested negative for hpylori thus discontinued the kit. I was put on Esomeprazole 20 but i had very bad side effects especially dizziness and body weakness... I went back to the doctor who changed the medication to Lansoprazole 30mg but still i feel like there is no improvement on the dizziness and body weakness.
Avatar f tn I have been taking a PPI (lansoprazole) for about 10 years for GERD, but I have been diagnosed with pangastritis and hiatus hernia, so why do I get no relief from these by taking a PPI? Just curious!
Avatar f tn If you have GERD and gastritis, then thats probbably causing your symptoms. Didn't you get any treatment for this?
Avatar f tn i have seen my doctor, who didnt know what the problem was, so I was given lansoprazole and domperidone for the nausea and i had a blood and stool test done. I should get the results in a week but i would like to know of any possible causes.
Avatar f tn I had a gastroscopy a couple of weeks ago and my GI doctor says I have gastritis. The only symptom I have (for upper GI stuff anyway) is mild chest pain usually after eating. The last few days I have been noticing the chest pain more often, especially when I burp. It's on the left side side of my sternum (just next to my left breast). My primary care doctor doesn't think it's cardiac since exercise has no effect on it. Is this just part of gastritis?
Avatar m tn prescribed the triple therapy that consist of Lansoprazole, Clarithromycin, and Amoxicillin. The problem is that she told me to take only one pill of of Amoxicillin (500 mg) every 12 hours but its supposed to be two pills (1g) every 12 hours, and I already finished the cycle. Now I am very concerned because I know that this bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics. What should I do?, how long should I wait before I take another H. Pylori test?
6499035 tn?1381860124 Hello everyone, my names Andy. Just over a month ago my doctor told me I had "Gastritis". For a couple of weeks previous I had not been eating as much as normal, I was very stressed out about everything in my life at that time. I had been feeling nauseous, I had no appetite and was getting a heavy feeling in my stomach. I wasn't put through any tests of any kind, my doctor just said to me it sounded like Gastritis, most likely due to so much stress that I was going through.
Avatar m tn m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others. I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.
Avatar n tn i had an abdominal pain which was associated with persistance vomiting with left sided pain and weakness that has lasted for 15months,i've abdominal x ray which got a negative result,i've done an endoscopy test which dictates gastritis,i've taken omeprasole for 8weeks with no relieve,i've taken lansoprazole for 4 weeks with no relieve,i've done alot of blood work like FBC.
Avatar f tn I have had GERD for over 10 years (been taking lansoprazole 30mg that whole time), and was recently diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and chronic gastritis after an endoscopy (along with very low vitamin D levels). Blood test does not indicate celiac disease, although results of intestinal biopsies not yet known. What I do not understand is that my weight is going UP, despite dieting. I am at my wits end and getting so low because of this. Does anyone have any ideas what could be happening??
Avatar f tn The docs need to be looking other places as well for your cause of pain. Gastritis always has an underlying cause and this needs to be determined so they know how to properly treat it. Tums or other antacids help, avoiding spicy foods as well, but it will not improve until they take care of the actual cause of it. Acid Reflux (GERD) causes heartburn, and stomach acid to back up in your throat causing a burning sensation, but nothing to the extent you are describing.
Avatar f tn Hi, im hoping someone will be able to help me understand a bit more about my symptoms. I had my gallbladder removed 10 years ago and had an acidy feeling in my stomach for the past 5 years. I eventually realised it wasn't normal hunger pangs and went to to the doctor 2 years ago who put me on lansoprazole which comletely cleared it up, so after 5 months I stopped taking it.
Avatar m tn whats meds has he been on for acid reflux? With the lesion in the stomach is sounds like gastritis, but what caused it is the real question. If Buscopan seems to work, he has to remember to take it consistantly. Other than that, I'd maybe suggest getting a food allergy test done. Its possible he has an allergy to something he is eating on a daily basis. Those things pop up out of nowhere.
Avatar m tn Any information concerning this will be very appreciated Thank you so much for taking your time out reading my e-mail I look forward to hearing from you soon Kind regards
Avatar f tn I have been on 40mg of omeprazole (time release) for about 5 or 6 weeks now, and over the past 2 or 3 weeks I have noticed that I have a recurring cough. It feels like I have severe "tickle" in my throat right at that soft indentation above my clavicles. It comes and goes several times throughout the course of the day and I notice it's usually worse right when I lie down to go to sleep at night. I've never had a cough like this before...
Avatar f tn I saw my doctor who tested me for h.pylori (negative) and started me on a PPI (lansoprazole), which did seem to help for a while; although I would have episodes of nausea, I did not actually vomit as often. After a while the episodes of nausea became more frequent and I noticed I often would develop a terrible headache after being nauseated.
Avatar m tn You will need to take a combination of medications like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into and a combination antibiotic tried. Life style changes that will help include: Avoid heavy meals and eat frequent small meals.
567392 tn?1216751526 Prev-Pac is the trade name for a packet containing three different drugs. They are Lansoprazole, Amoxycillin and Clarithromycin. These drugs are taken for 14 days to treat the stomach infection, Helicobacter pylori. So the clear cut picture of whether the lymphoma is responding to the treatment or not can be obtained after 2 weeks. If you need any more information then we are there to help you out. Pls do keep us posted.

1711242 tn?1308266891 It affects my breathing too when i get a bad flare up, can cause vomitting and terrible pain in stomach, it got so bad i couldnt swallow food as it was to painful, i have been on lansoprazole for 2 years now and i take 1 30mg tablet every day and i have had no problems since. Avatar m tn MY GASTROLOGIST SEEMS TO THINK THE PAIN IS GAS AND THE BLOOD IS ALSO RELATED TO MY GASTRITIS AND DIVITICULITIS. I AM A LITTLE MORE CONCERNED HOWEVER. SHOULD I SEEK A SECOND OPINION OR DISCUSS THESE CONCERNES WITH MY PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR? I FEEL THE PAIN MORE WHEN I EAT. I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE HOMORRHOIDS AS WELL. I AM ON MULTIPLE PRESCRIPTIONS AS WELL THAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD COULD BE AFFECTING MY HEALTH. THESE INCLUDE: 1) LEVETIRACETAM 1,000 MG. 3X DAY/ 2) DIVALPROEXE 500 MG.
