I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer back in February 2010. History: Prior to the diagnosis I had felt a strange pressure in my stomach occasionally which started around October 2009. I probably should have gone to the doctor when I was feeling the swelling/pressure but I thought it was just from being cramped into the Miata I had just purchased. Has doubled the dose of Lansoprazole which has not made too much difference really. I have completely adjusted my diet having bought fantastic book "Dropping Acid - The Reflux Diet Cookbook & Cure". The coughing is less severe and I am not doing the sleep apnea thing now, which is an improvement. Throat is less sore and have been drinking aloe vera. However, am now experiencing constant tight chest; sudden head pains, extreme tiredness; dizziness & hot spells.

i have been taken smasmocip plus last week (6 tabs at a time). my heart beats are becoming very fast and cant sleep.

Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?

I had 3 operations in the first 5 years without success (it just came back) but a breakthrough came 4 years ago when my ENT specialist put me on lansoprazole, a PPI, believing that it was probably due to acid reflux (although I had no symptoms). The granuloma disappeared over the next 6 months. However, it sometimes comes back, or at least the symptoms do, every few months, but go again after 2 or 3 weeks. But over the last week or so symptoms have come back with a vengeance.

You need to treat a low of 40 with glucose tabs. They have 4 grams per tablet and so you can control the dose, and don't risk overeating. For me, two tabs work well, for others they may need more. If you don't have glucose tabs try a glass of oj or some simple sugar such as candy. If you don't have those things, a glass of milk. A chili dog without the bun doesn't have hardly any carbs at all. You need fast acting concentrated carbs. You don't say if you are a diabetic.

pylori after having a breath test done, and have been prescribed by my doctor - lansoprazole 30 mg - metronidazole 400 mg - amoxicillin 500 mg. All three medacation taken twice a day for a 7 day course.I am now into the 5 th day of taking them.There seems to be no side effects, the problems of bloating,discomfort (painfull at times) that comes and goes througout the day,has not eased at all. If these combanation of tablets were going to work,would my symptons have eased by now ?.

Went to the doctors and was diagnosed with gastritis, i got given lansoprazole 30mg. This began to work quite quickly and within a week or two i felt somewhat better, however i noticed i was having severe near sickening nausea and what i later found out to be panic attacks while out. I returned to the doctors and was told it was anxiety, simply knowing what it was i found myself able to overcome it mostly, after this was almost back to normal and continued taking my medication.

m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others. I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.

I was put on Lansoprazole on 26 Nov and my doctor put me on 30mg for a week and then said to reduce it to 15mg which i have done and taken for the last 2 weeks. however on Wednesday i missed a tablet and took it Thursday morning and carried on with my usual practise of taking my 15mg in the evening as prescribed by my doctor.

So she went to the doctors and prescribed Lansoprazole. About a week and a half after the Lansoprazole was prescribed she started to shake. And for about a half a week now its been getting worse and worse. Now she is also having trouble seeing, and is experiencing ear ache's and headaches. While she is still shaking. Went to Cardio for 6 weeks check-up and he prescribed LANOXIN 0,25mg with high starting dosage (had to take 4 tabs the 1st day). It is now 7 days later and still no improvement. My HR is still fast and BP low and I now have extra systoles/irregular HR. Should I stop using LANOXIN and switch to SOTACOR (I used it pre-op). I had Ablation done in Nov. 2007 to treat PSVT. I've been on suboxone for 8 months for opiate withdrawl (8 yrs.methadone & 12 yrs 'H'). I started taking 3- 8mg tabs daily for a couple of weeks, and then I went to 2-8mgs a day, and thru time I am now down to 6mgs. It's been a rough road, but I have to get off all meds. I cannot afford them! My insurance runs out in Nov. or Jan. 2010.

Paediatric i'm afraid! I have a 7 month old, who has delayed gastric emptying (t1/2 180) and was on lansoprazole, she developed faltering growth - from 6 wks slid down growth charts.

Went back to the doctor, who told me I probably wouldnt want an endoscopy and put my on LANSOPRAZOLE to block acid. I still get these weird spasms. I'm kind of troubled they didnt bother to do an endoscopy. Could this be a serious problem, should I change doctors? I went to the doctor who imedietly suggested it could be an ulcer and prescribed me 30mg Lansoprazole, which I took for and immediately this sensation vanished no matter what I ate.

One more fast question here. I notice that when I take digestive enzymes it helps a lot. Not completely gone but it does help. So this could all be digestive related???

3 are the hardest come off the dones so Im sure the next two may be a little ruff I will try to stick to the 2half Loratabs a day since I am 14 days in at this level but I may have to go back to 3 day for a week or so.
