I was put on Esomeprazole 20 but i had very bad side effects especially dizziness and body weakness... I went back to the doctor who changed the medication to Lansoprazole 30mg but still i feel like there is no improvement on the dizziness and body weakness. I am also having heart palpitations which i think are from anxiety. Other side effects i am having include tingling sensation in arms and legs, chest tightness, headaches, sore throat and cough with sputum...
So I have GERD and regularly take PPIs (one 20 mg pill per day, I rotate between Omeprazole, Esomeprazole, and Lansoprazole because they seem to lose effectiveness after a while if I just stay on the same one indefinitely) but for the past several days I've had excessive gas and heartburn. I've stopped eating all spicy foods as a result but it so far hasn't helped. Is it safe to double my PPI dosage for a week or two to see if that helps me alleviate this issue?
Have taken Lansoprazole for years and after a heart condition kept on it but started to get atypical chest pain, which was not put down to the cardiac medication. Eventually the g.p. suggested trying (Nexium) - Esomeprazole 20mg instead, with the instruction that if there was a temporary flare up, - double the dose.

There are only 5 proton pump inhibitors available. Omeprazole(prilosec), lansoprazole (prevacid), pantoprazole (protonix), rabeprazole( aciphaex) and esomeprazole(Nexium). All are of same efficacy. If there is no response to one, switching to another might be helpful. Get your doctor's opinion before changing the medications.

You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried. Many a times a persisting H pylori infection can be the cause behind acidity not responding to treatment.
As fas as I know, nexium (esomeprazole) only interferes with biaxin (clarithromycin). It heightens the amount of esomeprazole by inhibiting the degradation of esomeprazole. Serious lansoprazole side effects
You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience any one or a combination of the serious lansoprazole side effects. Serious lansoprazole side effects include skin irritation or rash, blistering skin, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat or eyes. Other serious lansoprazole side effects include breathing problems, difficulty swallowing and hoarseness.
This class of medications includes omeprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, and esomeprazole. Proton pump inhibitors also appear to inhibit H. pylori activity. Cytoprotective agents are designed to help protect the tissues that line the stomach and small intestine. They include the medications sucralfate and misoprostol. If NSAIDs are being taken regularly, one of these medications to protect the stomach may also be taken. Another cytoprotective agent is bismuth subsalicylate.
Can I take esomeprazole,diazepam,antihistamine( Given by doc to help sleep ). Green tea capsules,cranberry pills,multivitamins and kanna together please? And on days I don't take my diazepam can i take valerian instead with these other supplements?

dr give me letter for my own dr..for new tablets for my reflux..on getting my tablets they called esomeprazole .40mg twice daily..and iv got to say they have helped my reflux,so what im thinking now is esomeprazole the same family of meds as nexius..i dont have to take these new meds with food just full glass water...i will check with my drs on thid .
t want to keep the baby,,, I just took nexium 20mg esomeprazole.....I was wondering if it could be one of the remedies in abortion..... please help!
Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?
I was given esomeprazole and other drugs but since then I have had chest pains in the left, shortage on breath , some cough though I had this before and tightness in the chest sometimes. What could this be?
Is there any effect when esomeprazole magnesium tablet taken with itraconazole capsule.
I had 3 operations in the first 5 years without success (it just came back) but a breakthrough came 4 years ago when my ENT specialist put me on lansoprazole, a PPI, believing that it was probably due to acid reflux (although I had no symptoms). The granuloma disappeared over the next 6 months.
However, it sometimes comes back, or at least the symptoms do, every few months, but go again after 2 or 3 weeks. But over the last week or so symptoms have come back with a vengeance.
I think insurance companies are dropping many drugs because acceptable generic equivalents are available, as is the case with Nexium (Esomeprazole). The generic version of the drug will work very well for you. I'm betting you will be just fine.
I wonder if you have considered discussing tapering off/discontinuing Nexium/Esomeprazole and see what happens. After having the Nissen Fundoplication surgery I was able to discontinue taking the drug and have been symptom free.
He checked my larynx and said I had inflammation due to GERD. He told me to make some diet changes and to take Esomeprazole 40mg every day. After three months he told me to continue for a year. Close to a year, friends were concerned I was on it fir too long and I called the ENT and he took me off it. After stopping it I have suffered of the most horrible heartburn and excessive burping. It’s been three weeks and it’s not as bad, but the problem still going on.
Do you think my bad breath can still be cured?
pylori after having a breath test done, and have been prescribed by my doctor - lansoprazole 30 mg - metronidazole 400 mg - amoxicillin 500 mg. All three medacation taken twice a day for a 7 day course.I am now into the 5 th day of taking them.There seems to be no side effects, the problems of bloating,discomfort (painfull at times) that comes and goes througout the day,has not eased at all.
If these combanation of tablets were going to work,would my symptons have eased by now ?.
